Overall this is a lovely hotel. After planning to arrive at appx 7pm didn't arrive until nearly midnight after a Friday from hell and the worst journey ever so was looking forward to checking in and getting some much needed sleep. Was greeted by a friendly member of staff and was eventually checked in after a small problem with the hotel's card machine which wouldn't accept either my Husbands or mine PIN number to register a card for payment. Sorted eventually and we managed to get to our room. First impression of hotel was clean, spacious and could see a lovely open fire in the bar area. Sadly the corridors leading to the rooms are a bit tired and dated and could do with modernising to the same standard as the public areas. However, our room was clean, warm and had a comfy bed. What more do you want when you just want to sleep!! We didn't eat dinner at the hotel so can't comment on the food from the restaurant but it smelled nice. Parking was free for the weekend. Hotel great location for exploring the area. Would stay here again if came back to Warwick
I wrote a great review about this hotel before. This stay seemed different. The room was clean, the bathroom had very cheap toilet tissue with not much of it. The tissue box had one tissue in it! The food was great in the bar with great service. Although having spent the previous night in a different Hilton I cannot understand why the same menu is a dearer price here. Breakfast was the usual great selection. Overall we may look elsewhere next time we are in the area.
Fantastic food and the waffle machine was a pleasant surprise. Gary Curtis was a brilliant server and a massive credit to Hilton, cleared our table continuously and made our visit very enjoyable all round
Excellent value great service from our waiter Gary Curtis, would come again and recommend to others. Was meeting some friends for an informal meeting, full English with continental selection attentive service throughout
Lovely welcome Castle room, clean welcoming room, lovely big bath sheets. Bar meal on Friday evening was reasonably priced and double Plymouth Gin went down very nicely. Reception booked taxi for Saturday and ordered papers. Watched the England v Wales match on Saturday.
I wasn't expecting much from the afternoon tea if I'm honest. I often feel the Hilton rely too much on their name when in reality they are no better than many other 3* hotel chains. I'm pleased to say we were pleasantly surprised. Service was good and polite. The selection of sandwiches and cakes was very good and nicely presented. The reason for four stars and not five is 1)It would have been nice to have been offered a top up of tea/coffee, 2) The hotel appears to be an office for a number of people. We were sat eating our tea in the middle of small groups all working on their laptops, felt a little strange. There was even an interview happening!
I stayed here with my daughter when visiting the a university of Warwick. After a long drive it was nice to find the room comfortably furnished and a restaurant with a good menu. The food quality at dinner and breakfast was excellent. My one disappointment was that there was a £5 parking charge. I understand why you pay for parking in city centre hotels, but this one is not really in this class. Overall recommended.
This is a nice hotel but doesn't have the luxury aspect you would normally associate with Hilton hotels. There is a very basic feel to this hotel when walking through the corridors and the rooms. They are decent if you are staying for work, but may not necessarily justify the price. The gym is quite nice with some free-weights and machines! I also wrote on a note for the housekeeping to give me free sparkling water and jelly beans (normally only comes in deluxe rooms) and they gave them to me when I came into my room the next day which was really nice! One thing you should note is that the taxi service is rubbish in this area. Pre-book the night before it could save you a lot of hassle.
Stayed here for business last week. I was looking forward to it as I had a Deluxe room and Breakfast for £92. I was attending a conference at the hotel so stayed mainly for convenience. The location is easy to get to, plenty of parking and the hotel itself looks very good from the outside. I checked in at around 8pm. Staff were helpful and there was an open fire in the large reception area. Looked very relaxing but I was looking forward to getting to my deluxe room for some rest after a long drive. From the lift onwards I felt like I had stepped back in time. The decor is weathered and old fashioned. The doors and door frames to each of the rooms are dented and marked where I presume cleaning/service staff must kick or push doors open with the trolley as they enter. A presumption, I didn't see anyone do it. It may seem picky of me to talk about the lift and corridors and really who cares how weathered they are, your room is the most important. I enter my Deluxe room and unfortunately the standard matched the corridors. Poor workmanship wherever you look. Virtually every fixing in the bathroom is crooked. The weathered look continues throughout the room itself. Some positives however; 55" Samsung tv was an unexpected luxury, a jar of mixed nuts and a jar of jelly beans in addition to slippers and bottled water left in the room complimentary. The bed was large and comfortable. The breakfast restaurant is just off the entrance to the hotel and the open fire was again a nice touch in this area. I was greeted at the restaurant by very polite staff, seated and offered fresh orange juice, tea and coffee. The food is a buffet but it is staffed and fresh eggs are being prepared to order. The breakfast was lovely, I chose to go with a full english. Conference Room This may not be of interest to you. The projector screen did not match the very small projected image which some people on my table complained about because they could not read certain text. It wasn't just small, it wasn't very bright. My table was very wobbly and when someone was writing the whole table was shaking. I chose to rest my notepad on my lap because it was annoying. Overall quite disappointed. Thankfully I can expense the cost of the hotel to work. If I was attending a conference here in the future I would look to stay somewhere else. Sorry to the staff, you were helpful and polite.
Stayed here just for a night whilst working Warwick. The hotel is what you expect from Hilton clean and tidy. The food is exceptional, it was nice to speak with the chef at breakfast. All the staff are friendly and helpful. I will be staying there again.
