We had stayed at this hotel previously and been slightly disappointed. On this occasion we had a lovely room overlooking the coutyard. The bed, pillows etc were comfortable and the room was quiet. Facilities were as expected. The staff were helpful and friendly. Buffet breakfast was more than adequate. Bar staff were helpful. Large amount of parking.

I have family nearby and booked two rooms, for myself and a visiting cousin. The park and exterior always looked so attractive that I was looking forward to staying, and specified rooms in the old Victorian house as I love history and Gothic architecture. Mistake! In driving rain it's quite a walk from there to Reception, bar and eateries which are in the new building, and there's no covered indoor route. Neither are the (very large) rooms there furnished or decorated in even a slightly period style. I paid about 35 pounds more than the standard room in the newer building but in fact they seem worse value. Apart from a comfortable bed and bed linens the furnishings and carpets are rather tired and not even a picture cheered up the large blank walls. Not that it mattered as after dark the room lighting is so poor you can hardly see them anyway - one low powered ceiling bulb and table lamps with shades seemingly chosen for their darkness. It was one of the most cheerless rooms I have stayed in for a while. Staff mostly young and from various linguistic parts of the world so not able to make much welcoming conversation, or talk about the interesting history of the house. It's a shame that the superb country house exterior and park are not matched by mediocre style, service and decoration. Nearby Ettington Hall does better.

The room was clean and we liked it but it took well in the afternoon before the staff came to change the bed linen and tidy etc. We also liked the surroundings and open space. We did not like the service in the restaurant and the reception, both were very poor. Staff did not communicate with us and they did not come to our table and check if the food was to our liking. In fact, they served fish and chips that made me ill during the night. I wouldn't recommend the dining there. It was a bad experience. We tried to visit the spa and found the same unfriendly response. Ww were most disappointed because we really wanted to enjoy our first anniversary. there.

A pleasant reception by knowledgeable staff. The room was clean and comfortable with a very large bed. Tea and coffee making facilities and a very useful fridge. The shower has a fixed head above a bath and includes toiletries. Our room had French doors leading out to a patio area. The breakfast was as you would expect, nothing special but quite a wide range of food. The restaurant didn't have many choices, but what food there was, was cooked well and tasted lovely. The bar is a nice place to spend time, relaxing and comfortable and the bar staff were polite and friendly, making the experience pleasurable.

What an absolutely beautiful hotel in the superb surroundings. Over 1.3 miles from the main road through stunning countryside. The staff were friendly and very knowledgeable and efficient. What a great choice and would recommend to anyone

We rencently stayed at the hotel on the 4/5 Oct we moved rooms twice, the first Room had a insecure window and we were on the ground floor, we were offered a second room which had what appeared to a piece of black material with hole in that was hanging and hooked up over the window, this Room was dark and dingy and needed a complete overall. After making a complaint to Oliver the Duty manager we were moved to a better room The shower control in this room came away from the unit to select bath or Shower option. The hotel is in a beutiful location and Close to Compton Verney our wedding location .The prices are over priced for the state of the Bedrooms.

We booked through spabreak.com very good for what we paid. We paid £230 for two people to stay 1 night, 40 min treatment each, three course dinner each and breakfast all you can eat buffet each! the dinner was lovely and well presented the staff was really good too! The only problem was the spa it’s very back dated and not good at all. Other than that it was amazing! The grounds are beautiful and I can imagine in summer it’s even better! The room was standard but nice They need to maintain the water feature with the fish In. Would think they should scrub it up a little better. Other than that can’t fault the hotel and the prices as it worked out amazing for money. would recommend.

They had a bus tour in and we felt like an inconvenience to the staff. The room whilst large had no television in the bedroom and there was furniture stacked behind the couch in the living room. The grounds are lovely and this provides one of the few redeeming features of this hotel.

This has to be one of the most beautiful settings to have a Hotel in, it is amazing. My Wife booked this for us because it is quite centrally placed for Stratford upon Avon and Warwick. We stayed for four nights and absolutely loved it. We had our tourist trips, but it was lovely just to come back to the Hotel and stroll through the acres upon acres of ground the hotel is set in. The room we were in was a little bit jaded but clean. We did have a couple of issues with the bathroom however, the staff in reception could not have been more helpful and offered us a different room straight away. We didn’t want to move and the problems we had were sorted very quickly. Now we did not use the Spa area but people that we talked to that did said it was great. Onto the very best part of this place the food, it is sensational. We took the opportunity to have the set three course menu which changes day on day. Being there for four nights we had a good stab at going through it, we were not disappointed with any of the meals. It was a super thumbs up from us. The breakfast was nice (crumpets would be nice though) it was piping hot. A special mention needs to go to Bogi ( yes thats her name) she could not have been more pleasant or helpful I think she is the Restaurant Supervisor and if she isn’t she should be, her smile lit up the place. People may ask will we be back too Bloody true we will 😁😁😁😁😁

We have stayed at Walton Hall (the house) over the last 10 years on and off, combined with a trip to the RSC its a great weekend end away. This time was a bit disappointing, the room we had was nice, clean, big, good views over the chapel. The grounds are great, all the wild foul, the walks, and a nice time of year to visit. The Service was good, food at dinner (we had a package deal) was good, the service was good. Nothing to complain about, but nothing to shout about either. But clearly some cost saving decisions have been made, the Hall has no check in, it has no bar, it has no soul, its just rooms. The meals are taken in the new hotel situated behind the Hall, reception for the complex and dining is there also. Previously it was nice to take a drink in the conservatory bar before dinning in the Hall. I think in summary, its a lovely place to visit, it just lacks the things it used to have, the things that made a great experience. Its now focused on functions and weddings, selling the Hall rooms out as a means to an end. it needs work too, our first room leaked from the ceiling during heavy rain. I hope it can survive, it doesn't feel to great at the moment though, it needs someone to care about it.
