Spent 9 nights in this cozy, warm hotel located on a small hilltop overlooking Lech and within 10 mins walking distance from the town Center . The rooms were homely with all the amenities you would expect from hotels at this level . However what stood out is really the impeccable service and friendliness we experienced from the entire staff. Be it at breakfast , concierge , drivers and even the hotel ownership . That fact alone would make me come back .
The Kristiania is situated on a quiet street above the village of Lech in one of those typical Austrian buildings but anyway they have a shuttle to drop you off and pick you up if you do not fancy the 10 minute walk into town. My room was on the small side on the third floor with a beautiful view of the village and had everything I needed. A really comfy bed, safe, umbrella, fluffy towels, bathrobe and slippers, flat screen TV. Amenities in the bathroom came in large bottles, handmade creations for the hotel. The hotel is beautifully decorated, the bar is cozy, and there is a terrace with chairs and duvets to enjoy the afternoon sun. In the basement there is a ski storage room with boot heaters. They also have turndown service in the evening, a rarity these days even in the better hotels. But I think what really made my stay is their staff. Every member of staff that I encountered was outgoing, friendly and really working hard at making my stay great, and they were always available for a little chat, too. All the staff spoke english. Dora and Domenico and the team at the front desk were great in organizing a massage, a snowboard guide for the day, and phoning the local pharmacy asking them to stay open a bit longer so I could pick up some medication. They also issue ski passes right there in the hotel so you don't have to queue at the ticket windows in town. I did not have many meals in the hotel apart from breakfast which is served in the restaurant, with a 'bread buffet' to choose from and and a nice choice of warm dishes or cold cuts and cheeses, fresh pressed juices and coffee served at the table, with warm and humorous service from Rene. Considering that this hotel was a stopgap solution because my go to hotel in St.Anton was already sold out, I chose well. I will definitely be back and can only highly recommend.
Just returned from a great ski holiday with my daughter! This is a first class hotel located just outside the center of lech, only a 10 minute walk to the village center, if you choose not to take the hotel shuttle which is always available. The hotel staff was very hospitable, helpful and polite. Breakfasts and dinners were excellent, sauna, message, ski room and well attended lounge with beautifully appointed tirolean decor made our down time very enjoyable. Hotelier Gertrude Schneider provides a personal touch to this charming hotel and went out of her way to make sure our experience was excellent. Our thanks to her and the rest of her staff. We will be back with the rest of the family.
We decided to go on a family skiing vacation with our daughter and son (4 and 6 respectively) and both Lech and Kristiania came highly recommended! We arrived on a Wednesday midday with immaculate weather but extremely cold. The setting could not have been better. What was even better though was the arrival at the hotel with such a warm and heartfelt welcome. The adjoining rooms could not have been better situated and we were left very impressed with all the amenities and little details! For me, it was the towels and linen that topped the list!! I gather that Lech is well know for its great food and this was true at the Kristiania as well. Breakfast was immaculate (one cannot miss the healthy juices) and so were the chocolates handed out for the children just before we left for skiing each morning. Cocktails at the bar managed by Nino were super and so was his top-notch service. Domenico at the reception also took such good care of us by helping out with all our questions. We would love to make this an annual family event and return each year to such an amazing hotel and resort.
A wonderful hotel! Stunning views of the town and yet the town centre is within easy walking distance...but the hotel shuttle is very welcome if you are carrying skis! Comfortable bedrooms and cosy communal space. Fantastic food and delicious Austrian wines recommended by the knowledgable sommelier. But the best thing about the hotel is the staff....professional, friendly, welcoming and willing to go out of their way to ensure you have a good holiday.
We have been to Lech several times for skiing and fine dining. This year again in the Kristiania. The rooms are very luxurious and outstandingly decorated. The food and Service again were excellent and the location of the hotel, overseeing the village of Lech and coming down straight from the Madloch ski run make it a unique jewel. Of course the price of this great experience is also high but in our opinion worth every cent! We will be coming back to Lech and the Kristiania - feel the difference!
Sublime hotel. Food was absolutely amazing. Rooms were lovely and comfortable. Positioning for the town was very good also and great shuttle service, but we walked most of the time. Staff were very friendly and you could have a bit of banter with them which was nice. Would agree with an earlier comment that a welcome brochure/more information of what else they can or do offer would be good. As the longer the week goes on you find out about new things. No doubt we left not knowing things too. Would return in a heartbeat
Family-run hotel offering 29 rooms and suites with contemporary design. The service team is top. Spa is small but beautiful. Food is amazing and the taste is decisive: only regional products at top quality are served. Excellent wines. Wonderful sun terrace.
Thank you to all the staff at Hotel Kristiania. We loved out skiing holiday. Rooms, food, staff, views, location...everything. Your hotel is fantastic and we are already planning to stay again next year.
My husband and I have just returned from a fab week staying at the Kristiania Lech. The hotel is in a wonderful location, in a quiet part of town but within 5 mins walking distance of the ski lifts and bars. Here's a summary of the highlights: - Friendly staff. Everyone went out of their way to make us feel at home and answer our questions. Special thanks to Rene who did an excellent job serving us breakfast and dinner every day. - Outstanding food. We were half board and hence treated to either a 5 course gourmet set menu every day (with 3 choices for mains) or to pick from the a la carte. Many of the dishes were Michelin star quality, big shout out to the chef! - Beautiful terrace to spend sunny afternoons post skiing, with lovely touches such as duvets on the sun loungers so you could settle in for a snooze! - Ski passes arranged through the hotel, which made our arrival process quick and easy - Storage area for skis and boots either in the hotel or at Strolz right next to the lifts. - Free day pass to the new and well equipped spa at the Gasthof Post hotel in town (outdoor pool, sauna, steam rooms etc) - Complimentary mini bar in room - Great products in the bathroom Overall a really excellent week, but a few things that we felt would make the experience even better: - On arrival the staff didn't proactively provide us with any information about the hotel. We ended up finding out about the spa at Gasthof Post via another guest and spent some of the week wondering what other features we didn't know about. - The spa (sauna) is small and I think they could make a lot more of the massage/therapy room/the space in general which seemed very quiet whenever I was down there Overall a really excellent week and would highly recommend this to foodies looking for a high end hotel in a quiet spot of town.
