Always nice to return to a favourite hotel The rooms are always spotless and spacious with great views of the cathedral square Check in staff are always helpful We used the restaurant more this time due to the weather conditions The food was fresh and tasty the service was excellent Breakfast always has something for everyone like at dinner time The full height glass fronted windows make you feel like you are outside Great place for a city break Mr young
Nice panorama around. Perfect old town easy to get anywhere. Very save place campier with another of capitals. Good breakfast. And nice place to spend evenings in restrant We enjoy of place. Thank you
This hotel is perfectly located across from the cathedral. Price is reasonable. The breakfast is very good. However, the room was much smaller than expected and the shower was very odd. The drain in the center of the bathroom and the whole bathroom would flood when having a shower. This was not fun.
We booked a Suite at this hotel as a little treat on a city break. We arrived around 21.30 and were promptly checked in and allocated out room. On entering the room we found there was a strong, unpleasant smell coming from the drains. We went back to reception and the polite Receptionist apologised and said she would accompany us to another suite to see if this was any better. Unfortunately this Suite also suffered from the strong smell, but there had been some kind of attempt to cover this up with an air freshener of some type. The Receptionist went to collect a key for a third suite, this one was sited right above the main entrance, and had not been refurbished to the standard of the first two, It also did not have a bath in the tiny bathroom, just the smallest shower we have ever seen in a hotel. It did have one thing going for it in that it did not smell. The room was nice and large and was clean. However what I would say is if you dont have the room for a decent sized shower, maybe get rid of the bidet and put a shower in worth the name. The shower installed was cheap and plastic and due to how much the tray on the bottom flexed when stood on, it leaked profusely. Other than the size of the room there seemed to be no advantage to upgrading to a suite. The towels were no better, there was no complimentary water on arrival, just a minibar with water priced at 4.50 Euros! Also Tea/ Coffee were not replenished while we were there so we had to visit the supermarket to buy our own. As the room was above the front door there was constant noise caused by the front doors opening and closing at all hours. The moral to this story is don't bother upgrading, it isn't worth it! The Receptionist told us the restaurant was open until 23.00 but on trying to go to get something to eat at 22.15 were told the kitchen was closed. The staff were unable to suggest where we might get something to eat, nor buy some water, which is disappointing. With the negatives out of the way, the hotel really is in an ideal location. The Staff are friendly and service in the restaurant for breakfast or for drinks at night is very good. Breakfast is varied and of good quality. We didn't eat in the restaurant at night but the meals we saw served looked very good. What we found frustrating is the Suites along with the Cathedral view suites are the best rooms the hotel offer. The hotel managers ought to take better care to ensure that people booking these rooms are not walking into suites which smell and end up being put into a sub par suite as it is all they have left. If we returned to Vilnius we would probably book elsewhere which is a shame as the Amberton has lots of good things about it, it just needs a bit of attention to bring it up to standard.
Very comfortable hotel with easy walking distance to all attractions, and a fantastic direct view of the Cathedral. Check in was efficient. Reception staff obliging with a request for printing. Paid a little extra for an upgrade which entailed a large quiet and very clean room with a sitting area. All amenities included. Breakfast served a great variety ànd included self serve freshly squeezed orange juice. Highly recommended hotel.
I gave this hotel a four but on this trip my personal experience was more of a three. I come to Vilnius several times a year traveling in and out of the area. I selected this hotel because of its location and surroundings. However, the room that i was given was on the back side and faced just adjacent buildings. I asked if something better was available and the only option was paying almost 50% more. The room itself wasn’t bad, just didn’t look at anything. The typical amenities were available and the tub/shower was pleasant. Although the weather was cold, the room was warm. Wireless Internet was good and responsive. The breakfast in the restaurant was very nice and a recent upgrade removed the cramped dining others mentioned. The location is perfect for exploring Vilnius museums, old town and shopping. The local tours originate just out front. The only drawback was some street noise but this quieted down early.
a perfect hotel to stay centrally located with a wide range of rooms... prices are very reasonable and rooms are cleaned the staff is friendly and attentive there is a parking which is available.. which is very practical
Very well situated in the historic center of Vilnius, across the street from Vilnius Cathedral and convenient walk to the old town, Gate of Dawn, Užupis, and other sites. The rooms are comfortable and have accessible balconies. Bathroom not spacious but functional with instant hot water and towel warmers. Hot and cold breakfast buffet is provided - highly recommend trying the porridge and squeezing your own orange juice - everything else standard European including self serve coffee machines. You will find a stocked minibar, flat screen TV, wardrobe, and hotpot. Staff is friendly and welcoming.
This hotel lacks some little things to be much better than it is. Its position opposite the Cathedral is perfect, service is good, also breakfast. But: - Beds in most of rooms are small and linen isn't good quality - Some of the rooms are inner, without windows, and with poor vent - No decent soup. No gowns, no slippers, no pen near the phone - Furniture of IKEA style
We spend New Years Eve in Vilnius. The hotel is a minutes walk to the main square. The fire works and celebration are excellent. Hotel breakfast was very good and late check out helped. Rooms have a kettle but no free tea and coffee you have to use the 3 euro sachets cheaper to go to the local coffee shop. Hotels clean and friendly.
