Located across the road from the Cathedral this hotel is ideally located for exploring the old town on foot,(weather permitting) with many museums, galleries, shops, bars and restaurants within a few minutes walk. The hotel itself is quite modern and our standard room was well equipped and clean. However, as it was in the roof of the hotel it had no view. The room was a very good size with a spacious en-suite which had a large bath as well as a shower, although the shower was not attached to the wall/ceiling, so using it proved a challenge. On the down side although tea and coffee making facilities were available, this was chargeable and like the mini bar, a little over priced, so was not used. In the more expensive suites in which we spent our first night, due to the hotel being over booked, tea and coffee was free and the suite was very large. So if you want that extra space and free hot drinks a suite may be a better option. There is no bar at the hotel and during our stay the restaurant was only open for breakfast which was disappointing, and apart from a few seats in the small reception area there wasn't really anywhere to sit and relax other than your own room. The breakfast offering was extensive, but the quality was only average. The staff at the hotel were very customer focussed and the reception team in particular were very good, being both efficient and friendly at all times. They were happy to deal with any enquiry and offered local knowledge on the best places to see and suggesting things to do. Notwithstanding the minor negatives mentioned above, this hotel met most of our needs and was good value, and in terms of location, probably couldn't be bettered.
Hotel is perfectly situated to explore Vilnius old town on foot with multiple attractions and great restaurants in vicinity. Hotel staff is very helpful and knowledgeable. Two issues that made our stay less than perfect are church bells going off every morning at 7:30 located so close we felt they were ringing in our room and storage room that hotel management converted into a garage. The "garage" is so small and one need to take an elevator( that's right a car elevator) just to reach it. If we rented a full size car it would've fit into the elevator much less the garage itself. Definitely recommend to look for alternatives for car parking.
We had a room with a musty smell, but a nice view. The room was average, and in need for an upgrade. The bathroom was ok. The breakfast had awful coffee, but the buffet had a decent selection of choices. The location of the hotel is near perfect!
Situated opposite the cathedral, this hotel is ideal for exploring both the old town and more modern areas of Vilnius. This is the second time we have stayed here in the last 2 years and on both occasions the staff have been friendly and efficient and the rooms clean and well presented. The restaurant is undergoing refurbishment at the moment but half of it is already completed and they were able to offer breakfast. We weren't bothered about eating there in the evenings as there are a good selection of restaurants and bars to eat at in the city. There is also a KFC across the square from the hotel if that's your preference.
Amberton is a hotel really well located - you can walk to the old town and to the main shopping street, its just few hundred meters away. Cathedral is just a hundred meters away and I really liked to walk in the autumn rain around the cathedral on the riverside. And i should definitely mention church bells in the morning every 30 minutes (i guess). It was possible to sleep with the open window - no street noise, just the sound of raindrops drumming on the window. There was a plenty of room in the double room, but general look and feel was a bit faded. My recommendation to the hotel management would be to change furniture and carpets in the near future. For the breakfast it was served different kind of fish, which i liked a lot. There was also green salad, paprika and tomatoes. At the warm buffet side there were scrambled eggs, sausages, bacon, potatoes and filled pancakes. Pancakes filled with the curd are Lithuanian speciality - you definitely should to try them. There was also some fruit selection available and different muesli's with nuts. Generally for every taste something, not a gourmet, but decent and fresh food.
First of all I have to let you know how I do my TripAdvisor hotel and restaurant reviews. Every place starts at 3/5 (average) and then my experience of the place lower the score or raises it. In this case my expectations where a bit high, I thought Amberton was a classy hotel given it's 4/5 rating. Before we arrived I had a little contact with the staff at Amberton. They got us a pickup up at the airport, and even fixed us a suite with a view (picture). When we arrived we also got very excited when we saw the location. It's location is absolutely perfect. Short walks to parks, shopping, monoments and restaurants. But as we went inside the hotel and checked in it was obvious to us that they renovated a part of the hotel. And the friendly reseptionist warned us about noise from the constructionworkers during workingtime. We got our keycard and went to the room. It was a large suite and the view was towards the cathedral square. But after we settled in we noticed that it came a smell of cigarettes every now and then, and it continued to do so until we left (friday - tuesday). The bed was very good. The breakfast at the hotel was good. A lot to choose from of hot and cold food. But the diningroom was small and felt crowded. - crowded eatingarea - - smell of cigarettes in the room - - - noisy (construction monday ans tuesday) + big suite with good bed + + location + + + custumerfriendly staff The minusthings is all do to the renovation of the hotel, and all the plusthings has to do with the day to day management of the hotel. That means that if we had visited Amberton any other time then during the renovation, the score and review would be very different. So even though I only give Amberton 3/5, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to friends and others visiting Vilnius.
This hotel is located across from the Vilnius Cathedral Square and our room had the most amazing view of it, along with the festivities that occurred during Capital Days. Despite the multitude of people outside our window, we were not bothered by the noise because the hotel is apparently insulated enough to filter out what was essentially a concert right outside our room. Amberton Hotel has a very friendly staff and is within walking distance of anything you could want to do or see in the city, including the Vilnius Cathedral, Vilnius University, various museums, restaurants, and shops. The only suggestion I would have for Amberton is to please upgrade the showers, which are little more than a hand-held shower head in a bathtub where the tub is only enclosed 1/3 of the way with glass. I have found this to be a typical design in European homes and hotels and no matter how conscientious I am, I cannot seem to NOT get water all over the floor with a shower like this. A shower curtain or enclosing the entire tub with a glass partition would be helpful. Also, the water pressure and design of the shower head made the water mildly painful as it came screaming out. The complimentary breakfast buffet was great with a wide selection of food and beverages. This hotel also didn't offer an iron and ironing board in the room and you had to ask for one if you needed it. Overall, I enjoyed my stay here.
The location is great but there were no window to street view snd the head shower was not clean so the shower war very bad. That is why the score is only 3. The room itself was big and clean. Breakfast was ok. Standard.
Perfect location - restaurants, shops and sights near of the hotel, good breakfast, nice view of the Cathedral from the room, helpful staff. You can use Taxify or Uber from airport to the hotel - it is quick and much more cheaper than airport taxi
We chose the hotel because of the nice location and its view. Unfortunately the window leads inside the lobby and needed to keep closed curtains at all times. Parking was promised but no parking was available when we came, even though I chose that option while booking. The public parking cost us about 45 eur/ day. Not good...I wont come back to this hotel.
