Days Inn - Victoria On The Harbour

3.0 out of 5.0

Recent guest reviews

The hotel is too expensive for the condition of the rooms. Definitely not a 4.0 star hotel. The hotel is in a prime location on the Inner Harbor, close to walk to downtown activities. However, the hotel is in desperate need of updating. There is no air conditioning (grateful for the fan). Bathroom is small; awkward to have to step up into the bathroom. Heating is baseboard; one section of the baseboard cover was pulled back exposing the wires/heating element. I would have been reluctant to use the heating if it had been needed. On a positive note, the on-site dining was very good.

Great experience! Nice hotel. Very friendly staff!

We had a good time at the Days Inn, although would have been better if they installed air conditioning. Very noisy at night from traffic and bar noise when the windows are open. Very convenient location and the staff is well trained and was very helpful. We have stayed here several times in the past, and it has improved except for no a/c.

I truly enjoyed our stay at the Days Inn in Victoria. The room was clean, wifi was fast, parking was excellent. This hotel is close to the harbor and convenient to walk around. It is also close to the ferry that goes to the US. They have an amazing staff. Although I had issues with my reservation they gave me a bigger room with the same prize as my reserved room. I also love the fact that they had a bar and a pretty good restaurant overlooking the harbor. Such a perfect place to stay!!

Do not stay here. No air conditioning, room hot, disrepair everywhere. Room was small, bathroom the size of a postage stamp, shower tight, electrical rigged, TV remote and hairdryer partially worked, noisy, door lock had to be repaired before could use room. Spend the money an stay at a better place with AC, you will be glad you did. Hotel staff was excellent at trying to deal with problems but simply too many to deal with. Provided a fan to cool room. Asked for and got a 50% refund. Not as portrayed in ads. Will never stay in a Day's Inn again. Management desperately needed here. Run from considering this hotel.

Great location! Nice clean hotel. I would recommend it to everyone.

The hotel is across the street from the Black Ball ferry terminal and just down the street from parliament, the BC Museum and most harbor attractions and shopping. A good value if you're on foot.

The pro is the location - was easy walk from Victoria Clipper and easy walk to bus station. The attached restaurant is fantastic. The room was clean. The problem is that it was HOT when we were there and there was no a/c. There was a fan that was very noisy - front desk brought a different one that was quiet. We were on 4th floor facing the harbor (beautiful view) but had to leave window open and it was very noisy on the street since it was an active Friday night. If it was not so hot, would have been a better experience.

view was awesome and room was comfortable would stay there again close to everything

The room was 1 floor above the bar we could hear the music and the DJ on Wed night. Luckily there was no DJ on Thursday night. It was either noise from the kitchen or someone slamming their doors. Hot tub was out of order when we were there. The location was perfect. Right across the street from the ferry dock and an easy walk to the downtown areas with good restaurants and shops.

It worked out very well for my getaway. The hotel was located perfectly and allowed me to get the most out of my trip.

This hotel is disgusting. Although it is located near elegant, classy hotels, it is a low-class, tacky lodging. We paid over $100 in off-season even with discounts. It was not worth $29.99. It is dirty, in poor repair, and a very bad experience. We chose the hotel due to its location across from the Black Ball Ferry - which we planned to take the next morning. Trust me - stay a couple blocks away, pay $50 more, and get up a little earlier for a cab or walk to the ferry - but don't stay here! The carpet had something brown and sticky next to the bed. There was no air conditioning on a muggy, warm night. The smoke or CO detector flashed a purple bright light every 5 minutes all night. The elevator bumps hard and lands off-floor (very scary). There is no continental breakfast. The beds are light concrete and the sheets like sandpaper. Please do not stay here. Your money should buy you a better night's sleep.

I was sightseeing in Victoria, and this was a great location to walk to nearby sights and restaurants. The only issue with the room was that the thermostat seemed broken/couldn't adjust the temperature up since it was slight cold, but I didn't engage the hotel staff on that. Had some drinks at bar/restaurant later in the evening; good service. Had breakfast in the morning there also; good food. Overall, good location/value for Victoria.

Overall very pleasurable. The best part of this hotel is the location. Across the street from ferry, walking distance to shops and restaurants. The restaurant in the hotel was excellent. The really negative part for us was no air conditioning. May not need during cooler periods but a few days it was uncomfortable to sleep.

We were really happy with the Day's Inn. The Clipper arrives into Victoria at 11:00 so we went early to see if we could drop our luggage off so we could go sight seeing unencumbered (it is a block away from the Clipper). Not only did they let us get into our room then BUT they also upgraded us (for free after I asked) to a room with a beautiful view of the Harbour. The room was simple, but clean and neat and suprisingly quiet. It is also next to some of the great things that Victoria has to offer. I would stay there again in a heart beat.

The only thing we agreed on 5-star for this hotel is the location! Other than that everything needs to up grade!

we enjoyed the stay but do not understand why there is no aircondition in the rooms it was too hot even with the window open faceing the harbour it was so uncomfortable to sleep and no fans in the bathrooms it needs a good renovation we have stayed a few times over the years but we are going to try somewhere that is a little updated and probabley get it for the same price or even less

Nice place to stay in Victoria. An older building that has been refurbished. Nothing fancy, parts of the hotel are dated but great location. Comfortable for a 2.5 star hotel. Some websites list it as a 3 star hotel or even higher which will lead to disappointment. Expect 2.5 stars and you'll be satisfied. Minutes from the Inner Harbour waterfront and parliament buildings. Try to avoid the rooms above the bar patio in the front and entrance to the beer and wine store at the back. Nearby Laurel Point Park is good for a less crowded waterfront walk.

For the money, there is no better property out there. Though the property is older, it is kept us nice and has some really nice features, such as two bottles of water in the room. Free wireless internet that worked perfect. Nice bed, no noise on 4th floor. Restuarant off lobby had an excellent breakfast. Hotel right next door to victoria clipper dropoff and hotel. Great location to downtown. Would stay here again.

Location of Days Inn was perfect--close to major sites in Victoria, on the waterfront, easy access to bus to Butchart Gardens.I would like to have known in advance (and paid for) the charge for airport shuttle. From talking to the [...]agent and the clerk at the hotel, it sounded like a complimentary shuttle provided by the hotel. Made me short on my Canadian money supply to pay for shuttle both ways. The hotel itself was okay; clerks were polite but not friendly. The bathroom was extremely cramped; I bumped by arm on the corner of the sink/vanity twice. Shower extremely small. Hot tub was outside and weather was too cold to use; this was disappointing. Bed was comfortable, good light and spacious room. I enjoyed getting complimentary bottled water daily and having internet access.
