The hotel is very good. The location is great and the shower is awesome!!!! The only problem is that I was at the 1st floor and I could hear all the noises in the street. I woke up late at night because people were screaming in front of the hotel. If you go there, just ask for a higher floor.
Ideal location only about 10 minutes from the railway station and 10 minutes from the city centre. Reception staff gave excellent restaurant recommendations, and helped with the storage of a wheelchair. Room was warm and clean with tea and coffee facilities, safe and mini bar also, but didn't use it. The shower was very powerful. Chocolate and slippers left by the bed. Breakfast was very good, great selection, tea and coffee via a self service machine. Breakfast is 10 euros well spent as didn't need to eat until the evening!
The staff were extremely helpful with taxis and tourist information. The room was lovely, very clean and comfortable. Great location for catching the sites in Verona. Can't wait to return and stay again!
Stayed 3 nights in this hotel. Room was clean and tidy. Quiet room, Spacious bathroom and very good breakfast. Enjoyed the Jacuzzi shower. Yes it's a Jacuzzi shower, not Jacuzzi bath. 15 minutes walk to the Piazza Bra and 15 minutes walk to the train station. There were kettle, tea and coffee making facilities in the room which was important to me to have a cup of tea before breakfast. However, some of the staff at reception didn’t seem so friendly.
This is a clean comfortable hotel 10 minutes walk from the train station and 10 minutes from the Piazza Bra and Arena so near the heart of everything. We walked everywhere in Verona and found the hotel very well placed indeed. The bedroom was excellent although the pillows are a but hard for my taste. The bed itself was good although not particularly soft, but I slept well only to have a bad neck from the pillows the next day! The shower and the jacuzzi were fine. Some may find it a little strange but we enjoyed both. The air conditioning tended to have a mind of its own . Open a window and it stopped. The temperature control was to my mind "interesting" and in no way perfect. The television was a disappointment to English speakers. Whilst there were loads of Italian channels as you would expect, and German as well, the English channels were BBC World News, France 24 in English, Russia today and Al Jazzera apart from CNN CNBC and Bloomberg. Oh, and a channel which was obviously screening Chinese propaganda constantly.A little light relief would have been nice! Why it is beyond the management to realise that there are a lot of English speaking guests who would actually like to watch tv but not news news news or propaganda? The free wifi was a joke. It didn't work very well at all and you had to get a new password and username( all numbers and letters) from reception very day. Why can't the hotel have a username being the name of the guest and the password being the room number? Not beyond the technical ability of people surely? Breakfast down in the basement was good value at 20 euros. Not the most exciting ever, but plenty of choice and worth going to instead of hunting for a restaurant first thing in the morning. Our main problem was the lift. Going down to breakfast 3 of us were stuck just above the -1 floor( there is also -2) The doors wouldn't open and the lift appeared dead. There are two lifts, both small and in constant use. It became very hot very quickly and I was frightened since I am claustrophobic so really started to worry very quickly. The management got us out within about 10 minutes so not bad, I commend the speed and the fact that they were straight onto the job, but we were more than a little nervous about using the lift again. We were given a free breakfast as a gesture which was nice and welcome. The staff were friendly and the hotel pretty good apart from the facts mentioned above. Would I stay there again? Probably, but I hope they sort the a/c , tv, wifi, and lift out first!
My wife and I stayed 2 nights with a prepaid reservation. After arriving by morning train from Brescia, we walked 650 meters northeast to this hotel. An English speaking clerk took our passports before storing our bags. After lunch at the Pizzeria Bar Delle Nazioni just around the corner, we returned at 2PM, taking the elevator up to Room #118. The moderate sized room had a comfortable queen with 2 shelved nightstands, desk with refer below and hot pot above, 3 chairs, closet wardrobe, wall TV(BBC, CNBC, CNN), and beautifully tiled and fully outfitted bathroom(with overly complicated glass shower steam cabinet). Although the large double insulated window opened to the front sidewalk view, it was quiet to sleep. We enjoyed good secure wifi and their well serviced 7AM breakfast buffet that included much more than we could sample. Because we walked 800 meters N to the Euro Spar(Google had mis marked a Supermercati Italiani across the street from our hotel), and more often into the city center, we would have preferred a closer hotel. Although we have enjoyed our economy room at this high quality 4*, it was expensive and not a value hotel for us.
Four night stay. Quiet comfortable room with big bed and all looks refurbished or new. Hotel 5minutes on foot to rail/bus station and 10 minutes to centre of town/ favourite restaurant/icecream. Good english spoken, very helpful and big breakfast. Never considered eating in. Bargain price for quality.
We stayed here for 1 night during the gnocchi festival. We arrived pretty early by train and walked to the hotel (7 minutes with luggage), they kept our luggage while we toured the city (we did everything by foot, you can see all the main attractions in half a day), and before the festival opening we came back to check in to the room. The hotel is beautiful, each room is unique with its design. Our room was very spacious and we had a little balcony. The beds were comfortable and breakfast plentiful. I would recommend this hotel and especially the gnocchi festival which was the best I visited in Italy. We had the time of our life that day.
In Italy, the star system has a formula but is worthless to a traveler as two four star hotels can be awful or great. Having stayed at Best Western Ala in Venice 4 years ago, as I was walking from train station I passed this one. While I probably got the rack rate of about 160 euros, like going to McDonalds, at Best Western you are always certain of what you are getting. It was a great hotel, and walking distance to train and city proper. The lady who checked me in helped me get my next Best Western Plus, the Hotel Adler in Innsbruck, and actually negotiated per their website, 119 euros per night, so I actually made out. This is the kind of hotel you would expect in the US, and is a real 4 star hotel, although I am giving it a 5. Great room, service, breakfast.
We are very disappointed in this hotel. The rooms are nice enough, but what they wouldn't do stands out to the kind of business they run.!! We had three rooms reserved for three couples, months in advance. Verona was our 4th stop in Italy. One of the couples had a family emergency, and had to leave for the states 5 days before we would be in Verona. Called the Hotel immediately and they said you have to make all requests in an email. They are THE ONLY Hotel, or Tour group that did not given them their money back. Their reasoning was " because you had a special rate we cannot refund the money." You would think that you would want a higher price for the room instead of our Spl rate? They offered the remaining couples free breakfasts - Breakfast priced at 3 euro's each. WOW what a gesture. The rooms were nice enough, but it is at the wrong end of town from where everything is located. Hotels are supposed to be about customer service...... they are not. Stay somewhere where they care about their customers.
