Very nice. Staff is A-1 . Quiet at night. Super breakfast. Happy hour between 5&7pm, two free drinks ( white/red wine, beer) and assorted drinks and snacks.

Stayed two nights, used the hotel as a base to visit Santa Barbara and Ojai. Did a lot of walking around Old Town Ventura. Enjoyed my two day getaway.

great location. responsive staff. really good breakfast. big room. great price. Overall housekeeping a little lacking.

Very good stay. Good location. Nice staff. good hotel.

very comfortable with very good amenities. good internet and cable

It was just ok...the place is really noisy as it is located next to the highway and railroad crossing. Do not expect peace and quiet. I was able to walk to several restaurants and to old town. You can walk to the beach but there is considerable traffic. The hotel itself is in need of a facelift and comes across as dark. Rooms are designed well but worn. Don't stay out too late as parking is an issue and spaces are very tight. Smoking area for guests is located to close to the main entry. There was nothing that really "wowed" me about this place.

The staff that serve the continental breakfast and the housekeepers were super nice but the front desk was a little less accommodating . Rooms are pretty decent and clean and we would probably stay there again

great price and great location so close to downtown and to the pier great breakfast and service one thing is check in time is strict. this is a great place if you are in need for one or two nights quick in ventura.

The room was large but dated furniture and the smell of smoke was a distraction. Was close to Ventura Pier but freeway and train tracks in between!

Great location, close enough to beach that I can ride my bike over to the path along the ocean. Room was large and clean, and very good breakfast, plenty of choices. A couple of small complaints: Lots of cable channels but a TV guide would have been handy. Also no "Do not Disturb" signs for doors. Other than that I was very happy with my stay there.

The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable and the location was perfect for us (walking distance to all the restaurants and the pier/promenade). The breakfast was very good. Our room was not facing the freeway and it was very quiet. I rated 4 overall because the hotel is old and it shows but it was not an issue. It's just how it is. I would return to this hotel as we had a very nice stay there.

Great place. It's located close to everywhere that I needed to be.

The hotel is located right off the freeway and across from the train. We heard the train pass by pretty often and it honks its horn every time it passes. It's very loud. The hotel is definitely older but they do a pretty good job at keeping it up. I enjoyed the shower in bathroom a lot. They had mini Pantene shampoo and conditioner for free. The morning breakfast was actually pretty good. They had someone cooking food in the stove too hot and ready. Lots of options for food. Biscuits and gravy, bacon, sausage, eggs, hashbrowns, waffles, yogurt, hit and cold cereal etc. over all I would give the hotel 3 stars. Definitely not the nicest or the newest hotel, but is great for a one night passing through and need somewhere stay.

For the cost, this hotel doesn't seem worth it. Aside from the nice down comforter, the room is about the quality of a 2 star hotel. The room and hotel are old--functioning, but old. The elevator is a little sketchy and the room carpeting was :fine (no tears or stains) but way out of date and the room smelled a bit musty. I got a room with a balcony and fireplace. The balcony was nice, although the surround was solid (not a rail) so when seated, the view was a bit shallow, but it was nice to see the mountains when having cheap morning coffee they offered. The fireplace, though, was awkward. Actually, the whole room was set up awkwardly--the TV was not in front of the bed, but to the left, so that only one person in bed could see the TV in an even semi-comfortable manner. Then, the fireplace was really far from the bed so the only real way to enjoy it was to sit in the formal high back chair which was not really comfy for reading or watching TV. So the fireplace is really a waste, unfortunately. The pool is outdoors so not usable much of the year. The breakfast was OK--the food warmers for the hot food buffet didn't keep the eggs and hash browns all that warm. It is, however, in a great location, a short walk to main street. So if that's what you're looking for and this is the cheapest option, then go for it.

Very fast check in and check out the rooms were clean love the breakfast I would recommend it.....

Nice time easy to ck in ,freindly Staff . Nice pool was not crowded

Hotel was awesome. Always a great stay. Love staying here. Thank you

Nice clean and spacious room. Very good happy hour with free snacks and drinks and good breakfast. Located walking distancs from downtown and the beach perfect place to stay.

My wife and I had a very enjoyable stay at the Country Inn & Suites By Carlson. The room was spacious and very clean. We had a good view of the Ventura Pier and the Pacific. Some have mentioned noise from the freeway but we hardly noticed it and sleeping was easy. The free breakfast was incredible and very satisfying. All of the hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. We were on the third floor and there's only one central elevator but it worked just fine. The internet wifi was a bit of a problem as it would not allow video or audio streaming. I assume this may have been because of heavy usage. Would recommend they look into upgrading their system. Overall, we had a very enjoyable stay. Will likely return to this hotel in the future.
