Dirty, bad smell and noise, the only good thing is that hotel is near to bus station, it's easy to go everywhere.
We had a family vacation two adults and two children. The hotel had a nice concept of a family style room. Two separate rooms joined by a hall where the bathroom was. Unfortunately all the beds were sofa beds. Thin mattresses on couch springs. The bathroom had no exhaust fan so when we showered it filled the whole space with hot humid air. Thank goodness we were near Venice so we did not need to spend too much time in the Delfino. hotel.
This hotel has a great location in Mestre, easy access to the train to Venice and downtown Mestre. But the room was not that clean, the bed was horrible hard, and breakfast was not as good to other hotels I stayed on my trip in Italy. Staff was helpful, but they charge even for a Venice map and for a print, things that I got for free at other places.
We booked this hotel at the last minute and stayed on a Thursday night. The hotel staff was very, very helpful, providing information about tours and activities. The hotel is VERY close to the Vatican (10 min walking), and it's right on the river, so orienting ourselves was very easy. I would absolutely stay here again during the week. We moved to another hotel for Friday night because the Diplomatic was way too expensive...the price nearly tripled! But it was absolutely worth what we paid for a Thursday night.
Located in Mestre, a 10-15 minute bus ride to/from Venice. Bus stop in front of the hotel, you can buy tickets at the reception desk. Staff was very friendly, has parking, good breakfast, room size was good, free wifi. Cons: There are not too many dining options in this area. Try to eat in Venice before you come back to the hotel after a day in Venice.
Are room was in the front of the hotel. Which was very noisy.
Easy to get to and from the city and airport. 30 euro to the airport by cab, 2 euro to the city by bus.
New, nice and clean hotel, next door is a super market. Location is far away from all the main attractions in Venice, but it's better for us because we didn't have to use water taxi to load luggages into/out of the hotel, There were flooded up to the knee during high tide every day while we were there. The city has to put up the board walk high for people to go. People had hard time rolling and dragging their luggages on the board walk to the hotel vs. There are so many people, some bought knee high rubber boots to walk around streets. Every place to go in Venice you have to use water taxis. We were glad that we stay at the hotel outside Venice. We took train and use water taxis to go sight seeing in Venice - Nice place to visit. We enjoyed our stay at hotel Delfino, breakfast and restaurant is good food, nice clean, new hotel. Very good for a three stars hotel. We would recommend it to our friends and family member.
Excellent location for bus to the sights in venice, also just a short walk from the venice nester train station. The breakfast was exceptional. A modern hotel
Excellent location for travel into venice, one direct bus. Also easy stroll to venice meter train statin. Great included breakfast, a modern hotel.
Hotel is far from 4 Stars! Not bad 3 Star! Would look for other option next time!
This hotel was a perfect choice. This hotel is great value for your money, because is cheaper than staying in Venice and the hotel itself is very nice. It is located in Mestre, just 8 minutes away from Venice by bus. The bus stop is just in front of the hotel We really liked this hotel
Very convenient location, next to the bus stop that takes you directly to Venice. You can buy Venice pass, that includes bus and vaporetto rides at the hotel. It took us about 20 minutes to get to Venice itself from the hotel. I stayed there for two nights with my ten year old daughter, she sertainly appriciated english channel on tv and good hot breakfast in the morning. There is also a good supermarket in the same building as the hotel. Even though the hotel itself is located on a busy street, our room was facing the other side of the building and it was very quiet. There is also a bus close by that takes you to the train station, or you can simply walk there if you don't have a lot of luggage. Overall great experience, no complains. Have a good time in Venice!
We arrived early by train and stored luggage at hotel, turned out baggage completely unsecured . The location was great, quiet. Air conditioned. Next door to grocery. Literally right across street from bus stop that went directly to Venice bus comes every 15 min or so. At little shop at bus stop u can buy bus tickets for one quarter price than paying directly to driver. Breakfast buffet was good. All u can eat for about 8 euro includes fresh croissant, eggs, bacon, etc etc. we had two teen boys so this was great value. Room spacious and clean. Pullout double bed pretty uncomfortable. Overall great value if you are willing to take 15 - 20 min bus ride to and from Venice
Room is spacious, added a folding bed for 30 euro. Right across the bus station which took us to Piaza Roma in about 10 minutes from where you can go around Venice.
I thought the hotel was fairly priced, rooms were spacious and very clean. The beds are very hard, so if you like a firm mattress... Right outside the hotel, you can catch a bus straight to Piazza Roma in Venice.
We only stayed 1 night, as a stop over after our cruise. The staff was very friendly but didn't speak a lot of english. The Delphino, by American standards is, at best, mediocre; adequate but nothing special. It has the noisest plumbing of any hotel I have ever stayed at
This hotel was a great choice during my trip to Europe. I was concerned about staying outside Venice, but it was the right choice. Starting with the hotel, it was a great 4 start hotel, with a very spacious room and a wonderful clean bathroom. The staff was amazingly helpful and everything was just right from the beggining. Breakfast was very good and wireless was available. The location could not have been better; there was a bus across the street that would take us back and forth to Venice in less than 10 minutes. There was the best gelatos place next door and a Supermarket in case you need to purchase any italian goods.
The location was great because it was across the street from where we had to catch the bus to Venice. The staff was also great but our bed was very uncomfortable--it was supposed to be a queen sized bed which it was but it wasn't a bed--it was a pull out couch and couldn't have been harder. The two twin beds in the room were fine.
A quick 10 minute bus ride to and from airport or port made this (outside of Venice) and ideal place to stay. Venice was very crowed even in the off season.
