The hotel was quiet, elegant and exactly what you would expect from a cute Italian hotel. Breakfast was great but even greater and sweeter were the staff, both the people in the reception and the maid Diana. They helped us with anything we needed and made us feel very welcome and we will definitely visit them again!/ Milazim and Lirie

Firstly a quick note about how to get there : we took the water bus line 2 get off at Zacchiare .. suggest you get a 2-3 or how ever many day pass it's 7.50 one way or 20 for 2 days. We had a large bag and backpack each and managed the walk of 10mins and 2 bridges no problems.. one bridge has ramps the other you have to lift up the stairs. We didn't want to pay for water taxi 75 euros, but it would drop you off at the canal in front. We bought the tickets at the newstand near the ticket machine as I found it easier to speak to someone. This boutique hotel is in 10mins walk to San Marcos square and about the same distance to the water bus which you will be using every day! Our 4 night stay was at the end of  month in Italy where we had been staying in apartments so it was a lot smaller space but we were very happy with our choice .. the staff were efficient and friendly and our room over looked the canal with traditional furnishings and super high ceilings.. breakky was a simple affair of cold ham, cheese, boiled eggs also corn flakes croissant bread rolls and some fruit and yoghurt... Not gourmet but we were satisfied. I have a tea drinking hubby and there are no facilities to make a cuppa .. also the tv was limited to a newsy USA channel (I know we should not watch Tv when in Venice but we'd been in Italy for a month and needed to chill - just an English movie channel ?)  We loved our time in Venice and recommend gondola serenade at dusk also use the water bus night and day... Took it over to Lido island for scenic lunch away from the crowds. Also recommend the day trip to Dolomites stunning scenery!  By far the prettiest city we visited and am so glad we chose it for our 30th wedding anniversary - truly magical and memorable!

My partner and I stayed for 3 nights in September 2017. The service was exceptional with helpful advice from staff about places to eat and wine bars. Our room was very comfortable and pleasant. The breakfast was delightful with lovely croissants and rolls. The location was so convenient....10 minutes walking to St Marco's Square and a canal outside the hotel. There is a hotel lift too. We would highly recommend Palazzo Schiavoni and we will be back.

Great place to stay in Venice. We had ground floor apartment which had a kitchen. This was great as supermarket is 20m away and for €10 you can get a few days ham and cheese for breakfast. Air con is amazing and a must. The only issue was the wifi which was terrible and did not work but this would not stop me going back. It's clean, cheap and cool. Perfect

We had a wonderful visit here! Our room was comfortable, clean and just what we needed! They offer a continental breakfast that was great! The staff were very friendly and helpful with reservations etc. I would go again tomorrow!

The staff here are always very helpful and we have visited a number of times, but not for a few years. However, we did think that the room we had was far less impressive than previous rooms. It was at the back of the hotel, smelt damp and had damp patches on the ceiling. There were no easy chairs or tea and coffee making facilities. When we booked I was told that the room we had requested was booked, but it remained empty all week. The breakfast was good, served with grace and every attention to detail, but again the variety of fruit and cereal on offer was poor, there was no variety each day. The fixtures and fittings are grand Venetian which makes the hotel look very elegant. I would recommend that you book an apartment or a room at the front of the hotel. It is a shame that we were a little disappointed, but the hotel is still worth a visit. There are several general stores nearby that sell food to prepare yourself if you have an apartment.

A faultless stay in a wonderful hotel , the room was elegantly decorated in true Venetian style as is the rest of the hotel with painted ceilings and antique furniture . A lovely location away from the bustle with an abundance of restaurants right on the doorstep . Easy to find and easy walking distance to the lagoon front . This is a simple hotel and is not staffed 24 hrs so has the feel of a apartment , breakfast is a adequate and a simple affair but a good and welcoming start to the day. Rooms are serviced everyday and always clean, Staff are welcoming and friendly. If you are a independent traveler and not seeking all the services and fussing that goes with some hotels then this hotel will not disappoint. Lots of history goes with this building as it was once the knights templar Venetian base .

More like a bed and breakfast than a hotel. Rooms very small and smelling a bit musty. Very poor breakfast service as it appears that the waitress doubles up as room maid and she has a tendency to disappear just when you want tea or coffee or other breakfast items. Also once you have checked out they will not allow you to use the toilet facilities. Very disappointed with hotel and will never stay here again. Venice though was as lovely as ever.

Beautiful place to stay! Clean and comfortable, with great location and view. Large and homey rooms traditionally decorated, with nicely equipped kitchen. Staff was very friendly. Some small complaints are that the wifi can be awfully slow sometimes, and that the water in the shower can become lukewarm pretty quickly. But those are really small nitpicks, and I really can't recommend this place enough

A nice apartment in quiet location. Small but functional kitchen and a washing machine made it homely. We liked cooking meals as a break from eating out. No early check in/out, but our bags were safe. As non smokers, we felt the staff smoking in the office was a bit unpleasant. But they were friendly and kind, which we liked. Walking distance ro sites and restaurants. Had to catch a water taxi there for 75euros.. expensive but too far from the station with suitcases. Venice is wonderful.
