All staff are really friendly and accommodating, I was so stressed when I arrived at the hotel due to the difficulty of finding their location but the receptionist was so friendly and made me welcome. The location is really good as it’s just a minute walk away from the SAN Marco Basilica and the restaurant is just next to the small canal where most of the gondola are passing by:) The only thing they I can recommend is to bring some ear plug as it is just beside the basilica, every hour the bell ring and I can hear it from my room. Place is clean and tidy.
Ideally located, close to St Mark’s Square and many attractions. The hotel is pleasant, but our room was very basic. The breakfast was OK and there was plenty, but the quality could have been better in my view. Staff were very helpful particularly as I managed to leave my scarf there. They arranged for it to be sent on to me really quickly, but at a price! The hotel was great for a short break, but I would have preferred a bit more luxury over a longer stay particularly from a 4 star hotel. I feel a ‘Good’ rating would have been more appropriate if available, but I have given ‘Very good’ as ‘Average’ seemed a bit mean!
We enjoyed our stay at this lovely hotel in central location. Was a British Airways holiday and I upgraded room to canal view after reading some previous reviews. It was so worth it - our room was spacious and stunning views. Made the holiday. Bathroom modern and all in working order and very clean. Staff helpful and hardworking. Breakfast really nice- much better than expected. One thing - we ate little snacks and water left out in in room - thinking they were a nice complimentary treat but you do get charged at end of stay so beware!! Also we booked shared water taxi by Viator - I did think we would be dropped off at hotel which is on a canal but they dropped us at St Mark's and we made the walk. Not the end of the world as not far to walk but was a little disappointed as had been looking forward to arriving at hotel by water taxi. Viator fine but would probably try vaparato in future as single water taxi pricey. The bar at hotel great to have a drink at before venturing out to dinner. We had a lovely stay in Venice and would stay at All'Angelo again.
We stayed there for short break, Good location, St Mark Square is very near and shops and restaurant around, the room was nice and clean. Every things working fine , they are kind enough to let us check in early.and given us with the Canal view. we would like to return .
Stayed for short break, location is excellent, 100 metres from St Marks Square and in the shopping area, plenty of local restaurants and short walking distance to the Vaporetto. Hotel is okay, our room was a little tired, but a budget hotel for 2 nights is perfectly acceptable to me. Breakfast was typically continental, fruit, meats,cheeses and pastries. Staff were excellent. I would stay again, but upgrade to a better room
Hotel All'Angelo is 10 - 15 minutes away from San Marco Ferry stop. Good things first, we were informed at the time of check in that we have been upgraded to a suite! The hotel is well managed, has attractive ambiance and definitely deserves a 4 star (its a 4 star hotel). Rooms, Lift and the sitting area in front of reception, are all good and deserve a mention in the review. Our room was spacious, had a decent sized bathroom. No complaints at all. Even the staff was helpful and guided us whenever needed. Coming to the scope of improvement area- just one, FOOD. I would have rated this hotel "Excellent" had it not been for the poor, unmanaged & weird buffet breakfast menu. No Veg options (save bread) and shockingly, there were no eggs as well. A four star hotel with such good service, needs to definitely look into this aspect. How can they NOT think about people who do not eat Non-Veg???? What made us more disappointed was the fact that there was no chicken as well! We had to go out and have breakfast since we couldn't eat anything here! Unacceptable, since even 3 star hotels were thoughtful enough to keep either eggs/salad/chicken in their menu. However, people who eat ham/pork/beef please ignore our review. Our only concern was food. Rest everything else was fine. Tip: Ask for room which has front facing view, we were given a back facing room which practically had no view
This hotels are overpriced and lousy offerings. Dam place cannot even offer wine glasses, to me thats the most pathetic any establishment can get given the super high price tag. The rooms are not the bright and shiny floors in the pictures. Its old carpets and old curtains. The pictures are prob fake or photoshopped. Super dissatisfied
We arrived on a hot day in June to find no working air conditioning in our 5th floor room. As the photos indicate, the room was very worn down and not worth 375/night. This was the only hotel on our 2 week trip that charged us for the full 5 night stay a week before we arrived. We left immediately and asked for a refund and moved to a much nicer and cleaner Hotel Metropole - which had working a/c. After a week of arguing about a refund we were finally refunded all our money except the first night.
We were delighted with our water taxi delivery to the door of the hotel. Had arranged this in the US through Viator. Definitely recommend them. The hotel was very comfortable. It was a fabulous location for getting around the city - we wandered backstreets and found many ways to go to the sites which were all nearby especially St Mark's Square. The room was very comfortable and well maintained. The street noise was noticeable at times but not terrible. The bathrooms were well appointed and clean. The breakfast was very substantial and nicely presented. Hotel staff was not overly friendly but they were helpful when asked for help. Elevator was small and without our suitcases the steps were the better way to get up and down in hotel. Leaving hotel for cruise port, we had arranged for water taxi and it picked us up right at the door and delivered us right to the pier.
Arrived Venice by private water taxi which dropped us off at St Mark's Sq and it was a short walk to the hotel. Wasn't that easy to find but eventually we did. Good entrance with an area with a view of the Canal. Alas, that was as good as it got. The room was very tired. It looked over a side street. The room walls were marked, there was a huge crack up one wall and the net curtains were filthy. The nets were so dusty that we had eye and breathing problems from the dust blown in as we had to keep the window open as it was boiling hot and no aircon working. The room was over the front entrance of the hotel so smokers gathered outside, fumes galore and the noise all night long! Don't choose this hotel, we made an error of judgement booking this through British Airways where we've always had exceptional hotels and by far, superior for the same price paid. Furniture needs replacing, walls cleaned and repainted and curtains cleaned. Bathroom was ok but the shower sliding door came off in our hands as we tried to slide it across. Reception was helpful when we needed anything but not friendly. You were not made to feel welcome, a great shame. This is my third visit to Venice and next time, I'll stay elsewhere. Breakfast was also disappointing, only white bread and white rolls! Why no healthy brown? There are so many fab Italian breads around and this hotel chose to stay in the dark ages. Not many savoury items, only finely sliced cheese, ham and mortadella but everything else was sweet and sugary. Can't believe the number of cakes they put out for breakfast. Don't get me started on getting coffee out of a huge di it yourself machine. So much for delicious Italian coffee, you have to go elsewhere for that and we did. The 6-7pm invitation to buy a drink and get free Italian tapas style was ham rolls, cheese rolls and ham and cheese croissants, what a let down! Beware! The only thing going going for this hotel is the location.
