Stayed here for two nights with a friend, having last stayed here 10 years ago. The location couldn't be better for exploring Saint Marks square and all it has to offer. Short walk takes you to the Accademia bridge and over to the Guggenheim. Room was clean and comfortable (we were woken by the boats below the window collecting rubbish - but this is Venice!). Breakfast was quite good. Staff were super friendly and helpful.
At 300 euros a night, one expects a pretty flawless hotel. Well located; decent breakfast buffet; friendly staff (except reception...). Clearly money is not being spent keeping the hotel up to scratch; patchy repairs to water damage on every ceiling; clumsy grout repairs to the nice original shower; bathroom soap and shampoo of a two star hotel; shabby stair carpeting, etc etc. At 150 euros a night, we would turn a blind eye. At 300 euros a night, it is totally unacceptable. The owner should be ashamed .
My husband and I stayed here 6th-10th May 2017. We had a wonderful time in Venice however the hotel is very disappointing. Very dirty, unfinished paint work, damp in the room, broken surfaces, broken fixtures and we had feaces/stains on our duvet AFTER the cleaner had been in. We also went back to our room after it had been 'cleaned' (we knew someone had cleaned it as we let them in) we had no toilet roll what so ever, dirty plates and food had been left and bins not emptied. We called reception and the gentleman did send someone up straight away, the cleaner and porter came and took the dirty duvet away, both holding their hands up stating it wasn't them that cleaned our room, nobody ever returned with a clean duvet. The day we left we were left with a bill at reception for crisps, these were handed to us by the cleaner, do not be fooled nothing is complementary although it is made to look like it is. If only they paid as much care and attention to cleaning/looking after guests as they do to checking what you have had out of the mini bar daily. We complained to the manager when we left, to which she was very rude and had a 'I don't care' attitude. We even showed her pictures we had taken of our dirty room/duvet to which she and another gentleman started speaking in their language (we speak English) in front of us for ages, all we could make out is they were saying we are British. I find this extremely rude. They did however refund us €30 for the pleasure of having a disgusting duvet. We upgraded to a canal view which was beautiful, if you do book this hotel please spend the extra and upgrade to a canal view as our room was very basic and quite horrible, without the Canal view it would have been even worse. Please do book somewhere else as you will be disappointed with the hotel and service.
Excelent located. The room is very large and fine. Wonderful hotel with very good hospitality and service. Excellent service at the reception with very helpful bilingual Staff. We found the breakfast very good
Slightly 'old-fashioned' but so charming hotel - and isn't Venice definitely like that ? Ideally situated at 2 minutes walking from San Marco it offers large and clear rooms, some viewing the canal, with very comfortable bedding. No restaurant anymore but a cosy and attractive wine bar where you can have some dishes; and even if you are not a smoker, enjoy the terrace at the rear with your glass of wine, looking at the gondoles or the stars. Extended and various breakfast buffet although the scrambled eggs are not the chief's special... Very clean premices and astonishing quiet hotel in regard of its location. Serviceable and friendly staff. Mini-bar and snacks in the rooms at nice price. Cosy building.
A lovely hotel full of character and Venetian charm. Very close to St Marco square and close to the famous sites. If you want authenticity then this is the place. If u want modern boutique u should look elsewhere. I loved staying here, the staff were friendly, the rooms cleaned daily with linen changed daily. Breakfast was good although fresh juices would have been nice. It has its own jetty for water taxis which is great for arriving and leaving by water taxi.
We stayed here for three nights and had a very enjoyable visit. The room was large and very clean. The bath was a good size too. Arrived at San Marco via water taxi, and was able to access the hotel without having to cross any canals. Very friendly staff, the HK Wine Bar attached is a good spot for ciccheti drinks and dinner.
I had a wonderful stay at the All Angelo. The location is simply unbeatable, literally a few steps away from St Mark's Square. The breakfast, the room and the staff were great. I enjoyed my stay immensely
This hotel is situated near st marks square and is centrally located for exploring Venice. the rooms are well decorated and clean my tip would be to upgrade to a canal view which is well worth the supplement. Breakfast is a standard continental all the hotel staff are friendly and I would stay here again when I next visit Venice.
We stayed the week before Easter and had a double room on the street side. The room is large with high ceilings and a adequate bathroom (double shower, sink, bidet and toilet) and a safe. The rooms were cleaned daily with linen and towels changed daily. There is also a safe. The air-conditioning was not working, so we had to open the window, which make it quite noisy overnight, as it is overlooking a tourist lane of restaurants and at 7am the church bells woke us - which is really quite lovely. The location is fantastic and the main reason for staying here. It is 5 minutes off St Marks square, so easily accessible via water boats from the airport and to use to travel to all the outlying islands such as Murano, Burano etc. There is a buffet breakfast which was cold meats, cheese, breads, cakes and scrambled eggs and bacon if you wanted something warm. The breakfast room is quite small and can get busy at peak times. There is also a bar in the evening but very expensive to have a drink there about £10 for a glass of wine, so I would suggest look elsewhere. The hotel backs onto a small canal , so it is possible to arrange a water taxi rather than using public boats, but these are expensive. Overall the location outweighs all the other niggles and I would not hesitate to return here if in Venice in the future.
