Belmond Hotel Cipriani

We arrived here following a trip on the Orient Express. The location, staff, decor, food, room, attention to detail, ambience and overall experience were without parallel. I would return in a heartbeat

Stayed at a lot of luxury classic hotels and modern new ones- not always do they live up to their exalted reputations or reviews- and rarely do they surpass expectations- can count them on one hand- where everything, seemingly everything just clicks. Add Cipriani to that short list of places you must stay. Suffice it to say this is the place to stay in Venice hands down. Sure could stay somewhere posh on the Grand Canal like the Aman, but you wouldn't have the private boat and view surrounding San Marco every time you come and go, nor the gardens or the pool or the peace of mind being out of the tourist hub bub otherwise. It is like you're on your own island but just outside of the central areas, and if you like a walk down Guidecca to the Fortuny showroom is lovely too. The room had everything you'd want- especially a large terrace with bistro table with a lagoon view. The bathroom filled with amenities and a dual-headed shower and large bath. Linens and more wonderful and a comfy bed. Wifi worked fine. And a large comfy couch to recline on at day's end. But truly it's not just the surroundings but the service- from GM Giampaolo to Michael at the front desk to Tommaso and the wonderful team at the concierge, and more so the charming man and his team who run the breakfast at Oro. Everyone warm and friendly and helpful. Every morning I ordered a different breakfast (fully included) and every day they stepped up to the requests. Only wished the weather was better to use the magnificent heated pool. Dinner at Cip's Club was fine one evening after a long day walking the city, and drinks at the hotel bar even more relaxed- including their infamous Bellini. One of those trips where we wished we could've stayed another day or two.

Class act..Try for the banquette at end of the room. The best things in life are free, never cheap or worth waiting for..Middle as you suspected. Most memorable lunch ever with my (then) two young boys..11,14. Distain and piercing eyes from the 11 year old as I was told by the waiter he would bring the children's menus...!!!! That of course did not fly at all...This venue was pleaded for by my 11 year old as he sipped his first Bellini at Harry's Bar an hour or so earlier...!!! Tagliatelle alla Tartufo followed by the fillet steak meant I indicated to those present the cost of lunch would be deducted from any proposed inheritance....Good luck chuck..The Zabaglioni made at the table to finish..A 50 flip (of course neatly folded and ' handshaked ' to the now best friend of a waiter by guessed it 11 year old) was the final gesture...A lunch remembered fondly on many occassions with my bank manager since.....!!!!

The Cipriani is a really lovely hotel. The staff are wonderful, we were so well looked after, the room was not large but comfortable and luxurious, not really outstanding though, for the money, especially when you can hear your neighbours through the walls. The food was delicious but ridiculously expensive for what it was. It has an amazing olympic sized swimming pool kept at 28 degrees. The boat service backwards and forwards to Venice was great and very frequent. However, the hotel was full of very pretentious nouveau riche people, mainly British, talking loudly and showing off - it sort of put us off, which was sad. The hotel is full of history. If you really want to splash the cash, then this hotel is a good one to do it at. Away from the hustle and bustle of Venice it is an oasis of calm. But do not go with an empty wallet, it will however be empty when you leave.

For once in your life you must experience the pleasures of fine living and fine dining. You have one life to live and try to live it here in this very romantic place. Old love, new love and rekindled love lives within its walls. The place is frozen in time and try to capture the moment. Need I say more............

We stayed in a large room right beside the large pool overlooking the lagoon. It doesn't get much better than that. This room needs to be booked a year in advance if you want it during high season. We had a large room service breakfast every day - lovely. Wonderful maid service. Great service all around. In particular I loved the beauty salon. The best hairdresser in the world in my opinion. Wonderful grounds. A fabulous experience to take the hotel shuttle boat to and from the main island every day and it was on time and frequent. A fabulous place to stay.

Love this hotel! Everything about this resort is perfect for Venice, you have a peaceful setting away from the crowds, gorgeous grounds, impeccable service, and old world charm. We had a beautiful suite which looked over the canal to St. Marks bell tower-gorgeous. The five minute boat ride actually adds to the experience and is not an inconvenience at all. The pool is delightful and feels old world but in a good way. The staff are fantastic and everyone jumps into make sure that every need is covered. I highly recommend this classic, it deserves all of the accolades it receives.

Well what can one say about such a old time classic with it being a regular haunt for the famous and wealthy, other then it still maintains its charm and to a great extent, provided one is not intimidated or star struck, on balance one is treated well (we are all equal, some more equal then others!)... always a pleasure to revisit!

A classic that, like great wine, keeps improving over time. Always wonderful, always the same, but with little added delicacies like the wonderful new soaps and lotions from the famous Venetian parfumerie The Merchant of Venice, in beautiful blue and gold Murano-inspired bottles.

This property hardly needs my review - it is well-known to be global class. That said, if you desire an absolute certainty of a world-class experience, this is it. Finished out our 25th anniversary in perfect fashion. It is the ONLY way to do Venice.
