stayed with two children during main season.. nice, clean hotel with nice pool with bar and beach across the street... food at night was good too...not too costly, at least for the tariff we booked (which seems to be higher at times) ... all in all a very nice stay... sometimes there are problems with the parking lot (sometimes, when you arrive at night, esp WE, then you have to park at another parking lot ca. 200 meters away and re-park your car the next morning (which is annoying)), worst bit: serving time for breakfast ends at 10am, in the sense that you're supposed to be finished with breakfast by this time which we thought for a holiday-hotel is way too early (with two small children, it means that you have to get up at nine am which at least for us is too early for holidays)... not a very big variety of TV-channels as far as we recall it (no German and barely English channels)... great place for kids though (at night busy funfair street right next to the hotel with carroussels, scooters and what have you)... litle train takes you to Chioggia center at night
I stopped for an overnight leaving Venice, Had heard of the other canal city of the coast; the hotel was a good location without going into the inner canal city. Close to highways and quite comfortable. good staff.
Just checked in today after a harrowing journey from Bologna on train and bus. The reception area is very clean and the front desk clerk was warm and helpful with additional information about getting to and from Venice/Chioggia. The room is nice, lots of extra touches: extra bath slippers, toothbrushes with paste (3) sewing kit, 3 shower caps, a bidet and the usual shampoo soap type amenities. There is a mini bar in the room. This room is on the 4th floor facing the lagoon and pool area downstairs even though it's fall now. There is even a twin sized Murphy bed in the wall. I will update after I've tried out their breakfast tmro.
The hotel is very nice, the staff are very friendly & helpfull. The hotel is located very close to the beach & also has a very nice pool with pool bar, great for relaxing in the afternoon heat. The hotel also has free parking on site. The rooms are large & well appointed with fridge, safe & a very nice bathroom. We also had an enormous private patio with both deck chairs, plus normal chairs & a table
The only thing that stopped me giving this a higher rating was the room decor. It felt as though I had gone back 30 years. It's located in Sottomarina which is a bit like Blackpool with sun, but there was no noise in the rooms. You get free car parking, which is in the hotel grounds, and like most places in Italy a bit tight but was better than most, and you get free breakfast. We had, I think, the smallest room on our floor but it was big enough. The staff were all friendly and helpful. It has a god outside bar to watch the world go by and a pool. The big attraction for us is old town Chioggia, about 15 minutes walk from the hotel, a mini Venice, with canals and good places to eat.
I picked this hotel as it was near the beach, close to Chioggia and within east striking distance of Venice. First appearances were good and the abundance of marble in the reception area set the scene for a good stay. The feeling was not sustained when we got to the room. My heart sank. It was dark, dated and small. I know that I was not paying for the upper end of the luxury scale but it all looked a little old and a little cheap. The location of the hotel is very good. Right on the main beach road with plenty of bars and restaurants very close by. The beach was a 2 minute walk away and as with all Italian beaches, immaculately kept. The hotel staff were very pleasant and helpful. The groundsman/maintenance man was always hard at work and doing a great job of it. Everything at public level looked great. When I asked to borrow a power adapter as we had brought the wrong one with us, the staff immediately pulled one out of a cupboard. The room was a real let down. We stayed in room 604 which had a balcony with a view of the sea, a well stocked minibar and a fantastic shower. That is where the good points end. In fact I have nothing else positive to say about that room. Avoid it! Breakfast seemed to be standard Best Western fare judging by what was served up in the other Best Western hotel we stayed in on this trip. The baffling thing was the fruit juice from a push button drinks machine, served in plastic cups. On reflection I don't think I would stay here again. I'm giving it 3 out of five and that is being generous.
I've done Venice twice before and while she is indeed magnificent, I wanted to try something a bit different this time round so I made my way to the seaside village of Chioggia and the best hotel I could find with availability in the area was the Best Western, Bristol. I was on a drive holiday, traveling out of Munich and Chioggia was also ideally situated as a half way point on my way to Bologna. Bristol is a beachside community just around the corner from Chioggia where the accommodation options at the time were limited. The hotel is clan though dated and the staff were helpful. The rooms were likewise, not huge but with a view over the sea of umbrellas and stalls on the beach to the ocean. It was ideal for a one night stay as it also had free parking on the property. The Bristol area is classic seaside holiday country and would no doubt teem with tourists in the warmer months. I arrived in late spring so it was still warming up and reasonably quiet. The strip along the beach was full of touristy bars and restaurants and I enjoyed a few drinks and then a meal on the night of my arrival. The meal was not great by any standards, very touristy but it was adequate and the atmosphere great. The area was well suited to the family economy holiday market. Just a few kilometres back down the road Chioggia was a real surprise. They call it 'Little Venice' for good reason as it has so many of the attractions of Venice itself, but on a much smaller scale. Canals, churches and the like abound. It also has an authenticity as a thriving Italian seaside community, not at all pretentious like Venice can be. I really loved it and happily wandered the streets for hours. A highlight is the seafood market on the outskirts of Old Town, magnificent! Definitely break your journey at Chioggia sometime, you really won't regret it!!! The Best Western Bristol is a fine hotel for a beachside stay. Request a high floor room at the front if you can.
just got back after a 10 night stay. Wonderful hotel , lovely helpful English speaking staff, nothing was too much trouble for them. Excellent location , perfect pool with a lovely bar and so close to a gorgeous beach. The sea is so clean and warm, perfect for swimming. Close to the bus station for trips to Venice and other nearby towns. Also close to Chioggia where there are lots of bars and restaurants . All in all a wonderful trip.
Stayed here June and enjoyed the beach and sun, it's a nice hotel with nice rooms and a great view. Breakfast is good and you get good service at the front desk. Hotel is close to the beach and restaurants.
