We had heard an excellent report of the hotel and were sorely disappointed. Paticular low points: the bedroom carpet was stained; the service at dinner on Sunday evening was appalling - it would have been good to know at the time of booking we would not have a choice of menu for that meal, beyond being able to request a vegetarian meal for our guests. Probably we simply would have chosen not to book for the packeage that included dinner.
Very quiet location with a lot of green. The services were excellent. The hotel provides transportation to and from the train station. Very nice personnel and very good food at the restaurant. Excellent breakfast. Thank you.
After biking 75 km, I was very excited to find this hotel surrounded by trees and silence. Reception was very helpful and I checked in without any problems. I was able to make reservations for my evening meal. The bike racks were full, but I was able to store my bike inside the hotel. For the price I paid (97 euros including breakfast), one can not expect too much glam and glitter. The room was small but cosy with a balcony (that looked out at other rooms) and the bathroom was quite small but clean. Beds were ok, mattresses were a bit hard. The only real complaint I had about the room was that the carpet should really be replaced. There were many stains and it was quite worn. Otherwise, I have no complaints about the room or my stay. Breakfast was all you can eat buffet and there was so much food to choose from. Croissants were especially delicious with lots of little sweet treats. Eggs, bacon, sausages, fruit, bread, yogurt and cereals. Really everything anyone could want. I would have given this property 4 stars, but the carpet really should be replaced!
Lovely clean rooms let down by lots of cigarette ash on the balcony. Excellent breakfast. The hotel is in an excellent position close to town, train station and relatives home. This was our fourth time at the Sparenhorst and I am sure we will go back in the future.
Nice hotel in the forest Arrived late at night, but I meet a smiling face and got me a clean room. I love a good breakfast and this hotel has it, good variety of cheeses, ham and freshly baked bread/vaffels
Good food this evening at the hotel. Wonderful fresh salad, Perfectly cooked steak Great veggies baked in puff pastry Tasty mushroom soup And the best panna cotta according to my friend. The only negativ , Schlag (whipped cream ) Out of the can😞
we enjoyed our stay in sparrenhorst hotel in nunspeet while in holland. many of the towns we stayed all blend together with their canals, churches, and bicycles. but this one stand out because it was so different from all the others. it was memorable to be in the woods. we were at the hotel on a sunday night. many of the restaurants in town were closed. so, it was with a disappointed attitude that we had our dinner at the hotel's restaurant. it was SO good. and perhaps because were there limited choices for dining because of it being sunday the restaurant was quite busy and gezelig. the room was comfortable. wifi worked well.
This hotel is excellent situated on the border of the village, surrounded by forest. It is an excellent place to start biking or make some walks. The nearby village of Nunspeet offers all necessary shops and even a beach is witin only a dozen kilometers. Our room on the top floor did not have a nice view unfortunately. There is a big difference between the rooms where view is concerned. An other disappointing fact were the beds. It was a long time ago since I had such a hard mattress! Hence our nightrest was disappointingly bad. However the staff was very friendly and extremely helpfull. There was plenty of room to store your bicycle inside the hotel and they also provided various routes te walk or bike.
I love this hotel. Breakfast was a true delight and what a lovely, friendly staff! Rooms are a bit small but they are very clean and tidy and I loved the big tv in the room. I highly recommend this hotel for a pleasant stay in the Veluwe. The staff is excellent and the quality of service is very high. Also, nunspeet is a lovely little town with a lot of trees and relaxed atmosphere. I'm definitely booking more stays over at NH hotels, I loved it, and I'm sure you will too.
We enjoyed a peaceful overnight stay at this hotel. Very friendly service and they have plenty of bikes to hire, which we did. The highlight was indeed a bike ride from the hotel to Elburg. Towards Elburg, we took a longer route which was very pleasant over rural farmland in pleasant evening summer sunshine. We had a brief look around Elburg, ate dinner outside in a restaurant and cycled back to the hotel the more direct route along the cycle path of the road. I cannot comment on breakfast as I didn't have any. The staff were very friendly and accommodating in everything. Many thanks....
