A regular, a bit dated but clean hotel, with nice and helpful staff who helped me to find the hotel's wifi on my phone. Situated ca 1,5 kilometres from the centre, where you can walk. Playroom in the lobby before children and a kiosk you can buy newspapers in. A large and rich breakfast buffet was served in the renovated part of the hotel at the ground floor. I appreciate that the breakfast had oatmeal porridge, which can not be found at all hotels.
ALL works, and ALL super, well ok, I would have liked a fridge in the room but the bathtub with cold water works just as well. great location for car traveller, but still walking distance to city. Just looove to stay at summer meet time in Västerås Scandic, see you again in 2019!
first positve impressions about started renovation. Let´s see how the hotel look if renovation is finished. the bar/restaurant area has already a new look but hopefully they invest more here to ensure more a restaurant appeal than a breakfastroom appeal.
Took very long to get the room in spite of confirmed booking. No safe in the room. No bathroom mat. Bathroom floor get wet all over after the shower Hairdryer hopeless! Old and the cheepest kind! Few hangers Boring surroundings: industries all around Long walk to the city Felt unsafe to walk alone in the evening
Disaster! If you travel with a pet, they give you a room on 3rd floor - it's a time travel! You are back in the 90's or maybe even 80's with 20-30 years wear and tear on flooring, furniture and with windows that aren't sound proofed for the traffic outside! You can't sleep. Never again!!! I wanted to check-out very soon after check-in! The restaurant served a buffet dinner that also was terrible! NEVER AGAIN!!!
A basic Scandic hotel close to E18. Not much in the immediate vicinity but quite close to city centre. Hotel is a bit dated but renovations are ongoing. Lobby and restaurant are updated and soon rooms as well. It was quite hot in our room so we lowered the heat and opened the window. Then it was ok. No AC so in the summer it can get hot I believe. Good breakfast, as usual at Scandic Hotels.
Regrettably I need to give this hotel a bad review. Let me first mention that the staff is 100% friendly and not at all the reason for my negative review. The hotel itself appears to be undergoing renovation. The 4th floor seems to be completely modernized. The room I am staying in however, is clean but worn down and appears to not yet be fully renovated. The bathroom is great, the room and the hallway appear in disrepair. Safety is a bit of a concern, but I will attribute that to the environment and general surroundings. Sad to say I won't be staying here again. And this is after experiencing Lagos, Kuching, Bangkok and Manilla... Sorry Scandic!
The hotel is conveniently located just by the highway - in case you arrive by car. City centre is 10 minutes walk away. The hotel it self is due to have renovation in the coming months, and indeed it is in the desperate need of that: rooms and corridors are more than worn out: carpets are in pieces, light sockets are dangerously broken in the rooms, wifi works every now qand then, the whole environment is quite depressing... Service was though fairly good and friendly. Breakfast is somewhere below average: basic stuff but nothing else,
Hotel was starting to renew. Staff friendly. Reception and bar area ok. Standard room clean but far from glorious. Hotel area reminds factory block and is far from city. Breakfast was quite rich but staff young girls. .
The hotel is good. Clean, spacious, friendly stuff, good food in restaurant. However I was stolen in breakfast. Stuff was very helpful and friendly with me in such unwanted situation. The security cameras does not record during day and it seems to happen recently more times in the neighbourhood. i would expect that there are some considerations to improve safety in the hotel.(for example: cameras recording also during day time, more control over people entering in breakfast room)
