Top hotel in a very nice location with a beautiful garden. Swimmingpools are only 50-60 cm deep ! breakfast OK, dinner OK but missing just the final touch to make it a gastronomic experience Wine tasting is not a wine tasting but a commercial show where audience is not taken serious.
Our views may be influenced by the unexpected upgrade to a two floor, two bathroomed luxury suite but everything in this hotel was beyond our expectations. Upon arrival we were greeted by the very friendly and helpful Belen, and two glasses of Cava - very welcome after our drive from Madrid. As soon as our room was shown to us, we wished we'd booked for longer than two nights: very spacious, we had wonderful views of the river and all amenities one would expect from a top hotel ... With the added bonus of a fully stocked wine cabinet , with prices starting as low as eur 4.50 for a Zorita produced Crianza. The complimemtary wine tasting was very informative thanks to the ever so knowledgeable Esteban, and the wine pairing dinner (eur 80 pp) a thoroughly enjoyable experience. The pool area is perfect for relaxing and enjoying the warm weather. Will certainly return.
This hotel exceeded all expectations. Rooms, staff, location, beauty were all exceptional. If you need a place to unwind, you will not find anywhere better. It is 5 star in all respects but the prices of food and drinks were very reasonable which is a pleasant surprise as you are miles from anywhere. Salamanca is 10k away and is one of the most beautiful cities in Spain.
There have been a few reviews less than favourable about the Hacienda Zorita very recently. Accept them for what they are, personal views; but mine is, ignore them as no less and no more than a view in time (as of course is mine). This is a beautiful place, kept impeccably, rooms cool and appropriately dark given when we were there at least, it was 37 centigrade out. Designed in true keeping with both broader surroundings and its antecedents - an ancient monastery. Our room had very comfy beds, more than adequate storage space and a bathroom which whilst certainly not state of the art, allowed me to clean my teeth, shower and etc in comfort. Very good toiletries and selection of shaving, toothpaste etc. No it does not have a walk in shower, yes it has a shower curtain and bath; but hey, this is rural Spain, not the Four Seasons in New York (that’s another story as is its price). The safe was low in our room (and I too had to use a 'phone torch to see it), but that’s all part of it. The grounds are truly magnificent, with a gentle river running directly through them. The wine tasting, not a dreadful sales pitch. Nor a tourist trap – simply a bunch of people proud at their produce, and with good reason. You can see form other reviews, I have been around the globe; if I could I’d stop here.
Stayed for one night. Two couples in the private suites, enjoyed an amazing dinner in the restaurant and relaxed by the plunge pools. Beds and pillows were to die for!! Had the best night sleep in years. The suites were amazing and the gardens so tranquil. Would highly recommend this for couples wanting to enjoy the best food and wine in an amazing setting. We didn't try out the spa but we will be back to do so!! The setting has such an amazing history. Christopher Columbus stayed here to prove to the King and Queen of Spain that he was worthy of the money that he eventually gained to travel and discover America! Albeit when the location was a monastery. Some of the cheese here is actually served by the current King and Queen of Spain to guests and the soft cheese is on the list of best cheese in the world!! The staff were so professional and we didn't not feel rushed at any point of our stay.
This is a stunningly beautiful place. An idyllic restoration with a massive history, just a couple of hours from Madrid. If you want to relax in the garden or around the plunge pools, be pampered in the spa, wine taste and eat well on site, have an evening in the atmospheric city of Salamanca (just 15 minutes away) or take a day watching eagles, vulture and storks on the Portugese border (try the excellent guidance of Vega and Alfonso at birdingspainswildwest), this could be the place for you. Staff could not have been more helpful or rooms better prepared. Truly delightful.
The area, the side, the atmosphere...everything breathaking. Historic, well preserved and romantic. Wonderful options for wine tasting and spa. The restaurant offers the all ingredients own farm made....YOU EAT WHAT WE GROW...spectacular. By far the best location near Salamanca
This is a gorgeous hotel in a very historic estate. The property is magnificent . The historic buildings have been refurbished in an exquisite, artistic way. Dinner was delicious as was breakfast. The staff was wonderful and most helpful. They were gracious and generous in every way. My only disappointment was the lack of a swimming pool. The hotel is close to the marvelous city of Salamanca which is an additional, plus.
Stayed here as part of a Globus Tour. Such a boutique elegance to it. The rooms were beautiful and mine was staying right over the river. Others have done sort of views to the river. Shower is a little interesting as your bathroom is literally in front of your bed (or it was for my room). Rooms were also a little dark but that's just nit picking It is a little out of Salamanca however. So don't stay here if you don't have a car and want to visit Salamanca easily. Breakfast was good.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel . The staff were all incredibly helpful and professional . The breakfast was the best we have ever been offered in a hotel . The only problem we experienced was with our dinner in the restaurant . We had expected a perfect meal . The setting was great , the service superb but the food was almost inedible . We assume we chose badly but it was rather disappointing .
