Great hotel in a nice area. Very quiet, beautiful area. It’s a 10 minute walk uphill from most places tourists will go. Great staff, very helpful. Amazing view from the comfortable roof. The roof closes at midnight, for noise reasons, so no late night parties up there. Room cleanliness was not perfect but definitely acceptable. No air conditioning. Would probably stay here again because of the great value.
A lovely boutique hotel, with unique decor and a friendly staff. The studio room we stayed in (#6) was clean and spacious, with a microwave and refrigerator. Comfortable beds. Roof-top patio with a great view of the city, hills, and harbor - a fine spot to curl up under a blanket and watch the sunset fall and the city lights glitter. The American breakfast was great - plenty of cold entrees, coffee, and scrambled eggs on request - fueled us up for full days of walking around the hilltops being gobsmacked by all of the incredible street art. Only down-side is that one of the major streets next to the hotel is cobbled, which caused the street noise to be quite noticeable well into the night. I expect all of the hotels in this area of Cerro Alegre have the same issue. There's a nice little Italian cafe right around the corner - try the lasagna!
