The location is everything! Right on the Beach, we also had a Nice Beach view from Our room. The room itself is quite baic, though clean. A bit overpriced. Our most expensive during Our month in Spain/Portugal, and definitely not the best! A small, free breakfast is included, but nothing to fill you up. Lots of restaurants very Close. There is a bus into Valencia nearby.

GOOD: Great location !!!! Clean apartment, beautiful view and right next to great restaurants. Reminded me of Ocean drive in Miami. The front desk people were very nice and helped us sort out where to go. Only complaint is that wifi wasn't the best. Did not get signal in the room.

Never stayed at a hostal before so was a bit apprehensive, but turned out very good. Front desk clerk kind enough to show us 3 different rooms for us to choose from, picked one with a water view. Hostal clean, quiet and breakfast included for just about 70 euros. Downstairs was restaurant/bar, good food and wine at decent prices; the parking is an open lot but lucky to find spot right in front of Hostal. Stayed just 1 night on way to Sitges and Barcelona and it was a pleasant stay. Close drive into Valencia

Hostal El Globo is well situated on along the beach and is a short 20 minute bus ride into city center. I stayed here during Las Fallas festival for 6 days. It was clean and service was good. The breakfast was simple. The staff spoke english. My only negative review was when we got back from our daily activities we found our door unlocked. The cleaning staff must have left it unlocked after they cleaned our room. We had both our laptops, hard drives, camera lenses in our room. This was a huge shock to us. We told the staff but we did not receive an official apology or reassurance from the manager. The front desk staff assured us that the front door was being monitored and locked. We were hoping for a bit more empathy as hotel room safety is a huge issue. I suggest taking all valuables with you if you stay here. The management should install auto locking doors.

We stayed at this hotel at the start and end of our Oct - Nov vacation. We selected this hotel based of the reviews provided on this site and they were spot on. The staff is competent and professional. The hotel is modest but clean and is situated right on the beach and above the coolest bar on the small strip of restaurants. We were concerned about the night life, but this was not a problem. The port area is being redeveloped with a 2 mile walk/bike way. Only downside is distance from downtown but as mentioned, public transport is readily available.

Right on Playa las Arenas.beach with a funky bar downstairs serving food and drinks all day and into the late night. Good value, for the location we paid around 75 euro for a double in early May. Room was clean but not fancy and 24hr reception always helpful and friendly. Recommend to all for a Valencia option to the old town.

We stayed at this hotel for one night en route from Mallorca to the UK in the midst of the volcanic ash disaster. We wanted somewhere cheap and were a bit concerned when dropped by a taxi at the rear as it seemed to simply be rooms above some shady bars and cafes. However, when viewed from the other side, it fronts the Arenas beach promenade. Although this is a simple hotel, the rooms were spotlessly clean. Fixtures and fittings seemed new. Although there is a bar below, there was no disturbance on the night we stayed there and I believe that there are no rooms immediately above the bar. The service was good for a hotel of this size and price - a good value option.

With temperatures in August in the high 80s, The Hostal El Globo makes an excellent choice for a beach/city holiday. Situated above a line of restaurants and bars at the end of the beach, close to the marina, it is in a great location if you are the kind of the person who likes to do city sightseeing in the morning, but spend the afternoon on the beach. Valencia 'old town' is several kilometres inland but can be easily reached (20 mins) by the the modern metro system with two stops within a 5 minute walk of the hotel. Although this is not a luxury hotel, it has recently been completely refurbished with new decorations and simple, modern furniture, air conditioning and up to date en suite facilities. Everything is bright and spotlessly clean. We paid extra for a sea-view room and enjoyed seeing great sun rises. The hotel is situated over a stylish bar named 'Vivar Sin Domir' (life without sleep) which attracts mainly young people. We are both in our 50s, but thoroughly enjoyed the bar and did not experience any noise problems at night. The hotel does not offer breakfast, but as there are many inexpensive cafes within the locality, this is not a problem. We would definitely stay at the hotel again.
