Was excited to check into a 5-star hotel, but very disappointed with a very rude front desk agent Lia. Not sure if she is anti-tourist, anti-Canadian, anti-American or just simply an unhappy and truly inhospitable hotel worker. She definitely made our stay at the hotel unpleasant and unwelcoming, in what seems an otherwise friendly and hospitable part of South America.....the Uraguay people. The property is also in major need of repairs and cleanliness in the spa/pool areas and some loving care to bring it back to the quality and style it boasts. With the right management, this could be a great hotel with its layout and location...unfortunately, we did not get to enjoy any of that with our visit.
When we arrived, there was a lady trying to get help from the staff, but no one spoke English, so I helped translate. The room was nice, with a pretty view. On the down side, the bed was made with two twin beds, instead of a queen or king size, which I expected (for a couple). The carpet wasn't very clean and there were loose tiles in the bathroom floor. Breakfast is OK, not many options, but is OK. Do not order food from the restaurant. We got a Picada for 2, and it was very poor quality, not much quantity. Price is OK (15 USD), but I expected more for that price point. Some staff members are very nice (at restaurant), while others clearly don't like their job. On checkout, we were told that we had consumed beverages from the room, which we hadn't, and the lady showed distrust, which was very uncomfortable. The pool is OK, although the water isn't warm, and I'd like it to be cleaner. The rooms are very loud as others have mentioned. One night as was woken up by the guests next door, doing their business. I tried to use the safe but it was out of battery. I had to call 3 times and wait for a good 40 minutes to get batteries replaced, which delayed our plans.
We had a terrible experience here. The beds are uncomfortable and the pillows suck. It’s also super loud and two dogs barked all night (I don’t blame the hotel for this but perhaps someone who works here could have intervened with the owners so the dumb dogs weren’t losing their minds for like 6 hours straight). However, by far the worst part of our stay here was the stupid toilet. It constantly broke and had to be “fixed” several times a day. This was incredibly inconvenient and made this already horrible room uninhabitable. Don’t do it. Stay somewhere else.
the hotel is beautiful. however the room we stayed was musty. We arrived late and were unable to use the shower. the hotel took more than an hour to solve the problem. on checkout, they questioned that we were missing a bathrobe, we returned to the room and found the robe. the hotel attendants did not give us an apology about the inconvenience.
Located in a very quiet location of the town. Lovely and cosy rooms. Breakfast is just fine. Restaurant inside the hotel is small. Very lovely and nice staff. Gym, spa and fitness center are decent. It is a hotel for relaxation and meditation.

This is not a five star hotel !!! No service, breakfast is one 7.30 to 9.00. Gym opens at 8AM.No hair dryer, bad bed, bad breakfast, no bell boy, smelly hotel, bad location, tired staff, expensive - dont go
This is a warning to poor customers as I that made the terrible mistake of reserving in this hotel. Please avoid by all means. Undestriptable. Only hot water in the rooms. No towels in the or even 1 as we were 2 customers. Had to request 1 more pair of towels and wait for even and hour for it. The front desk full of rude and unexperienced employees. The incredible part of the story is this. When checking out you have to make one row to pay for the consumption in the restaurant and then another row for the checkout. Obviously the restaurant belongs to the hotel. What refers to the spa is another story. The inside pool is absolutely dirt, low lights to avoid showing parts of the paint falling from the walls and mold all over the place. I could spend writing all afternoon about the disastrous spent with my wife but I prefer to save other customers this horrible experience.
The rooms are nice, and the staff was very helpful , but all in all my experience wasn't the best. - The walls are super thin, meaning you can hear what happens in other rooms and outside. There were a lot of kids on my stay, that meant waking up to their screaming. - There was just one night stand next to the beds, and no electricity plug. Really?? Nowadays everyone uses their phones before going to sleep, not having electricity next to me bothered me quote a bit. Apart from that, the experience was good. Breakfast was delicious and the pool was really nice.
My friend and I arrived at 2pm and we knew that the check in was 3pm, we asked if we can enter earlier, and they said no. 3 families arrived after us and they did the check out before, so to avoid stress in my trip I waited. So at 3:10pm we entered in our room. The door handle of the bathroom was not good and my friend got stuck inside, I opened, but I requested them to fix and they did not fixed it. When we were doing the check out the receptionist, a guy, look like he doesn't want to be there. We order to do the check out 1 our late and he did not allow us to do it, but he did such a ugly face that I change my mind and I close my account at that minute and left. I stayed at room 8210 and I could not sleep since had a dog barking the whole night close to my window, for a SPA place, I did not relaxed. The hotel looks really nice, but is not what you think. Too bad since we hope to had a good time. P.S. - The piano show at night make the things better, at least for that moment.
