We had a wonderful stay. The staff went out of their way to make everything perfect. It was my husband's birthday and they sent up treats before we went out. Our daughter enjoyed the kids club. The young guys running it were great with the kids. We used the indoor pool which was great. The only downside was the cafe where we got coffee and a media luna. The staff there were slack and kept putting on the TV so they could watch loud music videos and inane gossip. We asked for it to be turned down as did another table. The food took ages and so did the bill until I walked out. Then the guy suddenly moved very quickly! I still give the hotel a 5 as everything else outweighed this, but management might want to look at the cafe as it is really not ok.
Taking a short two day trip from Buenos Aires this was the perfect resort to relax and see the historic city of Colonia and enjoy the beach and pool at this hotel. We took a buquebus boat from Puerto Madero to Colonia. Hotel has indoor and outdoor pools and a bus stop to go to the historic part of Colonia.
Modern hotel and services surrounded by golf course. Big 4-storey lobby and attractive pools. Different temperatures in the 3 pools. On river front but no real beach activities. Food service high quality is mostly buffet style in main dining room. Many conventions from Buenos Aires. Eighteen hole golf course hardly used. Back 9 closed as Sheraton trying out soccer golf but little interest when we were there. No shops or stores close by. Fifteen minute taxi ride to downtown historic Colonia. Attentive and professional staff. They could not find our reservation upon check in. Apologies and an upgrade followed.
This is a great hotel if you are in to golf or have convention on site. The hotel is four stars not five. The staff is great and very courteous. The room do need a good makeover! The hotel is only 12 years old but the carpets are stained , paint is peeling on walls , pool and furniture. The food was very good . The golf course is interesting but take a lot of insect repellent! If just visiting the old town stay somewhere else . I like he Radisson. But if you have a meeting and play golf this is the place!
We had a great stay at this wonderful Sheraton! The place is great, with several pools and a good Spa. The kids club is very good if you travel with kids, thanks a lot to Jackeline & Gabriel, they were the most attentive staff in the hotel! My only suggestion would be to improve in the restaurante and snack bar, thanks for everything and gonna be back soon! ;)
The Sheraton Colonia is to be considered a good hotel but a little far from downtown Colonia. The room was spacious, with a good bed and bathroom. Breakfast was good and varied. I was there for 5 days and 4 nights, and the food at the restaurant tended to be practically the same every night. The restaurant opened at different times so we sometimes had to wait a long time before we could go in and order dinner. There were only two (very slow) elevators to the rooms, and one of them was not working properly after day 3. The hotel has only 4 floors but the stairs were kind of difficult to find. Internet was free and excellent. Taxis charge 10 dollars to take you to the historical center of Colonia del Sacramento
Sheraton Colonia Spa & Golf Resort is a nice hotel located in Colonia del Sacramento. The hotel is a little bit old, meaning that rooms could benefit from an update/makeover, It's fair to say though that staff is very polite and services are excellent - restaurant, room service, balcony and leisure. Hope you enjoy
We stayed a couple of days. The location is definitely good, the hotel is nice, especially the hall, with a wide range of services provided. But some aspects disappointed us, like the manteinance of the spa, the noise insulation of the room, the service at the breakfast and the fact that wifi in the room is not free.
We loved Colonia and enjoyed also the hotel infrastructure of the Sheraton. Unfortunately the service was poor across the board. Examples: - ordering a beer at the pool (3 times asking, 1 hour waiting) - asking for towels (3 times asking, 30 min waiting) - Ordering a sandwch at the bar (340 min waiting) - Renting bicycles (3 times asking, 15 min waiting) - Ordering taxi for transfer (did not arrive at all, we would have missed our boat if not a friendly guest had given us a lift) It seemed the hotel was either understaffed or the personnel poorly motivated "hiding" rather than being on their positions.
The hotel was not prepared for kids and family and adults alone at the same. Rooms are not separated or organized properly. At night acustic isolation of the rooms is poor. In our case we had a small kid asking for his mom and crying up to 2 am. At the same time the pool was not well organized and when we asked to use a room for yoga to be in a quiet place the answer was that it was locked to avoid children to make a mess there!!! At breakfast the place was a chaos despite the efforts of personnel to provide a good service. Overall experience was bad and even though we previously visited several times de hotel this time was terrible experience and we hardly will come back.
