We stayed in this lovely hotel for three nights and had a big room to the front with perfect bathroom. It is very conveniently situated in the old part of Montevideo in walking distance to the harbour and many shops and restaurants. The staff were most helpful and created a cosy and familiar atmosphere where we would chat at the bar with them and get an insight about Montevideo. Rooftop swimming pool and bar make it the perfect place to stay.
The staff were really helpful with all of my questions and gave great recommendations. The hotel is a small boutique hotel with lots of character. My room was clean, modern and comfortable- the bed was awesome! It’s in the old town which is a little funkier than the newer parts of town but I liked it.
Stayed a couple of night, really envoy this hotel. Great location in the old city of Montevideo. Right next to the Port Market, and the main pedestrian (touristic) street. Lots of great restaurant around (not only in the Market). Walking distance from the ferry, so very convenient if you arrive/leave via Buquebus ferry. Rooms are spacious and clean. Our was a bit dark, so ask for one with balcony. The rooftop swimming pool is awesome, and perfect to relax after long days of walking (or to wake up in the morning). Breakfast was correct, nothing much but everything you need. Service was nice and very helpful. Will stay again here without hesitation.
It is a very touristy area, but very clean and safe. There are a lot of restaurants right across the street from the hotel. Great area to walk and sight-see around, oceanfront is only blocks away. You might get overwhelmed by all the restaurant options around, but honestly they are almost all identical, menu items are the same in pretty much all the places.
I had to make some quick change of plans when my niece had to cancel her travel plans due to a family emergency and I was going to be spending the first 3 days of my South America vacation solo on Montevideo. Boy, was I in for a pleasant surprise when I arrived at the Don Boutique Hotel in Montevideo. I was greeted at the front desk by Gonzalo, after efficiently checking me in, I was giving a wonderful welcoming drink. The always smiling and cheerful concierge, Flavio, quickly wisked my baggage up to my room. The hotel is wonderfully located near the port. The city is easily walkable. A I always felt safe. I was greeted every time I entered or exited the hotel, especially by Gonzalo and Ariel. There's a lovely rooftop pool and Rooftop Bar. My room was nicely decorated and kept in good order by the maid, Mariela. Flavio went out of his way to make me feel at home at The Don. I really recommend this special hotel in the unique city.
My husband and I stayed here for 8 days. Everything was 1st class, from the welcoming cocktail to the personal service we recieved from Flavio in particular always checking to see if there was anything we needed. He was very attentive and a great asset to the hotel staff. Paulo had wonderful restaurant suggestions for us, always friendly and happy to help. The rooftop pool was a wonderful cooling comfort to return to after spending a few hours wandering around the city in 90 degree heat. The rooms were clean, the bed very comfortable with fresh clean linens and towels daily. Flavio was concerned that our AC wasn't working when we arrived and kept checking in with us to make sure things are cooling down. Breakfast was a wonderful selection of fresh fruit, pastries, cold cuts, several egg dishes, great coffees and freshly squeezed juices along with friendly happy staff. Perfect location for walking or taking a quick cab ride to anywhere for very little cost.
Nice clean hotel with great staff. But in outdoor concern across the street plays until 12:00pm / 24:00 most nights. No sleep until the concert ends The staff states they music is quite load most nights during the summer
We stayed at Don Boutique Hotel for five nights while visiting Montevideo. While it wasn’t our choice, the front desk staff at Don Boutique Hotel quickly accommodated us, after being stranded quite late at night. We had reserved a full service apartment, however, our hosts? Left us locked out on the street. The Don Boutique Hotel is really nice and spotlessly clean. They serve a fantastic breakfast buffet and have room service. Their outdoor rooftop patio, pool and bar area is fabulous and we enjoyed several days of gorgeous sunny weather lounging by the pool. The rooms are very spacious and air conditioned. The staff are very helpful and very helpful. They all speak very good English. It is in the mid-range price wise, however, it was worth the extra cost for us. We would definitely recommend staying at Don Boutique Hotel. The location is great with lots of shops and restaurants very close by. We gave this Hotel 5* because it was the perfect place to stay while visiting the beautiful city of Montevideo.
Incredible location, right across from Mercado del Puerto and in the middle of Ciudad Vieja. Walking distance to many key museums and sites and short uber ride away from everything else. The rooftop bar and pool are amazing and offer great views. The hotel is nicely designed with comfortable beds and really comfortable pillows. The staff were all friendly. However,my breakfast included was not confirmed at check-in nor were the breakfast times informed either. I was told the wrong floor for my room. And I was not given accurate information regarding activities and opening times of places by the check-in personnel when I checked in mid-afternoon. Further, the room was infested with mosquitoes, not the biggest issue, but definitely made for a sleepless and itchy night. Breakfast was simple but adequate. Despite some issues and areas for improvement, still a nice option in Montevideo especially for the location, value, and rooftop.
Thank you Flavio and Natalie for your fantastic welcome and on going care during our stay. We felt very welcome. Great location and restaurants. Easy walk to central city. Good bar and restaurant. Thanks for organising taxis for early morning departure.
