Arrived in Montevideo via the Buquebus from BA. The hotel is just across the street from the Ferry Port, which is a simple walk. Check in was very pleasant and simple. I believe the clerk at the desk was named Muaro who was a great asset and very helpful with planning a couple adventures. He spoke perfect English which helped. The hotel was very nice. Rooms had everything that you need, fridge, hair dryer, tv, good ac., wifi throughout the hotel. Breakfast buffet, will cook eggs and bacon included. Very relaxed atmosphere and pleasant staff who were very helpful with a few requests. Everything that I asked for, they promptly remedied. There was no room window to the outside in my room. There is a rooftop pool and lounge area. Beautiful sunset to see from the top while drinking a cold one. The hop on hop off bus is just steps away from the front of the hotel, recommended to familiarize yourself with the old city and surrounding Montevideo. There are many restaurants, cafes, store, souvenir shops, all right there. Booked a trip to Punta del Este and the company will pick you up right at the hotel. Lobby was nice and comfortable. On checkout, there was a very nice gal I believe her name was Natalia. Once again perfect English. The staff made me feel right at home. Anyone interested in specifics feel free to contact me. I recommend the hotel for a Montevideo stay.
Unfortunately we missed our ferry from Buenos Aires and weren't able to get to Montevideo for the first night of our stay. Because the room was paid for and "guaranteed" we did not call the hotel to advise. When we arrived at the hotel the next morning at 10, we were advised our room had been let out to someone else for both nights. We were shocked....the man at the desk was nice but firm - we had lost our room. Plus, we were advised we would only get one night reimbursed, which we still haven't and that was 3 months ago.
Top hotel in the port area, nice and modern facilities, extremely helpful staff, and even some cookies and a welcome drink on arrival. Rooms had everything you could want for this type of hotel, while the daily breakfast was more than sufficient . Location wise its opposite the market and some great old town restaurants too. Although the area is a lot quieter in the evenings there is still enough to do!!
Great location, kind staff, beautiful room close to Port! We had whatever we need! Interesting building with many services! Smoke free hotel and free WiFi. Roof garden service 😊😊😊🏖️ 🛏️🚢 ✈️🛫🛬🏨
Very nice hotel at the habour site, they tried hard and rooms are great (can only tell for the suite) , but unfortunately the hotel is located across food habour market hall, where you can get outstanding BBQ/Assado food - but the grill smell will accompaign you in the room, during the day and night 24/7. The hotel team was ok, though what I did not like isthe fact, that they are all extremely slowly for service until you pay a tip (sure we know this is in common for Latin America). But Uruguay can do better regarding services without claiming "propinas" as we saw on our further trip through UY.
Just stayed 5 nights in March. Wonderful little hotel in a great location. My room was small but was oh so clean and had everything I needed. Was very interesting building, no straight halls, even the room had something at an angle and lots of mirrors to make the room look bigger. The staff was so attentive and was such a big help for this non Spanish speaker. The only problem was the initial locating of the hotel. As I rented a car I drove right by the first time and needed help removing myself from the pedestrian zone After that all was well and I highly recommend this little gem.
All perfect! Can only recommend! Good location, great, friendly and helpful service! Great breakfast. Great price for value! Variety of Bars and Restaurants within walking distance. Would go there again!
Terrific location in the old town opposite the Mercado del Puerto ; a stunning deco facade with sadly, a mundane and 'minimalist', interior conversion. Rooms are Parisian hotel size, but there is a rooftop pool to stretch out next to. Adequate but unimaginative breakfast in a vast room featuring some pretty dodgy artwork ! Great reception staff -courteous and endlessly helpful. Come on Don, give that handsome building and enviable location some real "Boutique" style. You're worth it.
Super chill hotel located 5 minutes from the ferry port. Clean and comfortable rooms. Nice staff who were friendly and helpful. Nice rooftop bar to have a drink and watch the city. Good TV and wifi too.
Kind of cramped conditions in the tiny rooms, but the place is clean and friendly and has a good vibe going with much local artwork in the public areas. Daytime location good, near the harbour and opposite the market of restaurants, where locals and tourists crowd in for roasts cooked openly by numerous chefs - at least a dozen to choose from, but at night only 2 are open and in downtown downtown, you have little choice within a half mile,so cabs essentia. A word about our daytime desk manager - he couldn't do enough for us with advices in excellent English of what to do and where to go,but best of all, helped out with a medic as my wife had reactions to mossie bites she got in Argentina. A veritable star he was!
