Hubby and I checked in just before 10:00 pm, after a long day of driving. All we needed was good sleep in a non-smoking room before getting back on the road. LaQuinta is convenient to I-20, about 3/4 mile from the off-ramp. I was really impressed with the beautiful lobby and breakfast room. And the luggage trolleys. So many budget style hotels don't provide them. La Quinta Lindale is a totally non-smoking hotel, which we appreciate very much. The young man at the front desk was wonderful - pleasant, helpful. We'd booked a king room and had no concerns about quality of stay after getting off to such a good start. Then we opened the door to room 309. Housekeeping failed to leave on the air conditioner, and the room had an overwhelming musty smell. We tried turning on the AC but, after two minutes in the room, had to get out. I noted very large spots in the carpet where it was totally frayed and the pad was showing through. It definitely needed replacing. Hubby went to report the odor problem, and requested another room. Room 317 had AC running, with an air freshener disc attached to the unit. The room had a scented aroma, which masked the mildew smell in that room. But it was an enormous improvement, so we stayed. Other than the carpet, the room was quite nice - mostly renovated with pretty furniture and art, new bathroom granite and light fixtures ... although the toilet was older. And the ironing board had a 2-inch hole in the cover. Seems like renovations are underway, but not quite completed. The room was well furnished, with two nightstands, an easy chair, desk and chair, armoire dresser that held the microwave and mini-refridge, decent size flat screen, and plenty of lamps. Amenities included an iron and board, luggage rack, full length mirror, coffee maker, ice bucket, hair dryer, blackout curtains, and enough clothing hangers. The bathroom sink had a huge counter for accommodating personal care items. Towels were surprisingly thick and plentiful. Toiletries were minimal - conditioning shampoo, bar soap, and a make-up towelette. The bed was comfy, and we had half a dozen pillows of varying firmness to choose from. The wi-fi worked well, and electrical outlets were sufficient for charging necessities. Everything was clean except the refridge door, which hasn't been wiped of fingerprints in a long time. We never eat hotel complimentary breakfasts so didn't bother getting up for the continental offering, which is served until 9:00. We really had a pleasant stay, once our room was reassigned. But Hubby woke up with a dry cough, and coughed all day. I have to wonder if it's sensitivity to mold exposure. The carpet in both rooms needs to be replaced asap, as does any other old carpet that might be harboring mold. Before booking here, I'd ask whether there's new carpet in the room. If so, this is a lovely facility, especially based on the reasonable price.
Disappointing is the word for this stay. We had been to this hotel on six previous occasions, but we never had a room as dirty as the one this time. The rug had not been vacuumed, and there was dry food stuck to the rug near the desk. The ac unit appeared to have mold, and the room smelled very musty. Not very impressive!
I stay at this hotel frequently due to work in the area and it's always a pleasure. The Rooms are clean and very comfortable. The people working there are great and helpful. Would recommend to anyone. Great location is a plus. Thanks
It has been a long time since I enjoyed staying at any hotel, but my recent stay at LaQuinta Inn & Suites in Lindale changed that. The room was clean, quiet, and well lit. There is no need of a comforter on the bed as the room temperature is easy to adjust. I am now looking forward to my next trip.
No extra pet fee!! Breakfast is great! Beds are very clean and comfortable! This was by far the best motel we stayed at doing our trip driving from Washington to Texas then Arkansas!!!! Indoor pool with hot tub was definitely a plus!
The room smelled like it had not been air out in a week. Very stale air conditioner smell. It never did go away. My wife was concerned that we might get Legion Airs disease. A good cleaning would do wonders
The air conditioner was terrible and the rooms were very musky smelling. There are no actual comforters on the beds , just very thin like sheets. They do not offer any complementary waters or anything, even being a gold club member with over a million and a half rewards points. I really think this hotel needs a total make over . The furniture in the room had been tore up from pets I presume.
The hotel had mold on the ceiling tiles on the third floor near the elevator. There was a musty smell in the bedroom. The hotel needs to be thoroughly deep cleaned. The bathroom was clean but fixtures need repair. The sheets were clean and the floor was vacuumed but the carpet was ripped in places. It was the worst selection for breakfast that we experienced in all our la quinta stays. This hotel was not up to the La Quinta standard that we have recently experience for the value of what is normally paid. We used our points for the hotel which was 15000. I was not impressed with this hotel at all. Of the last 5 La Quinta's we have stayed in the last 14 days, this has been the worst.
The reason I stay at La Quinta's is the comfort of there beds! I walked in my room and it was cool and comfortable! The rooms are clean and roomy too! The Location is close to everything from food to whatever you may need! All within 5 minutes drive.
There are not many places this nice that will let our dog stay with us. When you really need some rest that is a big deal. We can always count on a LaQuinta to be a vety clean and comfortable stay. We ALWAYS look for LaQuinta first.
