We stayed at the La Quinta in Tuscaloosa, AL on our way back home from Myrtle Beach. It's conveniently located right by the I-20 so it was perfect for us. Down McFarland Blvd is a whole slew of restaurants and stores so if you need anything, you don't have to go too far to get it. There's a gas station beside the hotel so that was another convenient plus for us as well. The hotel was modern & very clean. The rooms were spacious. Our room had 2 queen size beds and a sofa sleeper. I think there was an extra charge to get the sleeper sofa but it was worth it. The parking lot was very well lit. I thought the light would shine through our curtains but it was relatively darkish in our room. The beds were comfy enough. A little on the firmer side for my taste but I still slept well. We had a room right by the elevator. When I saw where our room was located, I was filled with dread. Normally, having a room by the elevator is not good but it wasn't bad, I must say. I kept our A/C fan on all night which helped with noise. We traveled with our sleep sounds noise machine so we kept that on too. With all the extra ambient noise in our room, I didn't notice any outside noise. In the morning before we headed out, we had breakfast downstairs. They had lots of choices so there was something for everyone. They had a waffle maker, cereal, yogurt, fruit, eggs, sausage patties, oatmeal, milk, juice....you get the idea! If we ever need to stay the night at Tuscaloosa again, I'll definitely be staying at this La Quinta!
I am not sure why anyone is rating this hotel as excellent or good. It is simply not true. It was horrific to say the least and that is probably a compliment. I wouldn't wish this place on anyone. It was not nice or clean. The people reporting those facts are simply not telling the truth. I don't want anyone to get fooled like my family.
Wished I had known about this hotel before I booked the trip. We had to move from a nasty hotel to the La Quinta at short notice, in comparison this hotel far exceeded our expectations. From arriving the place looked good and the reception we received made us feel very welcome. I was always greeted each time I entered the hotel making you feel special. Everything I needed was in the room, a refrigerator for the beers, air conditioning that was really cold, clean room and a and a microwave. The hotel location was good even though it was close to the main roads but I never heard a thing excepts the storms. We liked this hotel so much we have recommended all future colleagues to use it and not to bother looking at any other hotel. Very pleased with my stay and would recommend it to you.
We stayed at LaQuinta while doing a campus tour. The location was convenient for access to the freeway and it wasn't far from campus. Employees were friendly, kind, and helpful. Beds were comfortable and bathroom was clean (as was the rest of the room). Breakfast was included and is your typical fare at LaQuinta.
Rooms are spacious and clean. Lobby is clean and spacious. All staff is friendly and helpful (especially Alaina and Lucretia!) Lots of filling options for breakfast. Great business center as well! Convenient location by interstate.
Hotel nice, clean, and new. The room was a good size, and we had a comfortable stay here. The breakfast was just OK, as there were not a lot of fresh/healthy options, but it was on par with other similar types of hotel chains. I would stay there again.
Enjoyed my stay staff was courteous friendly and very informative. Room was clean neat. Breakfast was fresh hot and tasty. Definitely would stay at this establishment again and I also highly recommend it to all and any travelers. I had a very enjoyable experience.
We booked this new hotel for 1 night due to a meeting at The University of Alabama. Excellent rate for a new, clean, well equipped king room. Nicely appointed with a good complimentary breakfast. We are pleased with most LaQuinta locations but this one went over and above! We were heading out for our meeting when our car would not start. We called Uber and later called AAA to come get our car and tow it for repairs. We had already checked out. The hotel as were most hotels, booked up thru the weekend. The staff knew our situation and knew we needed a room for the 2nd night. A cancellation came thru and they were able to hold that room for us for the 2nd night..it sure helped us out of a difficult situation and they were pleased to accommodate us due to our situation. They did an excellent job of making it all work out for us. A special thank you to Mina, Lucretia, Shelly, Henry and Alaina for going the extra mile to help LaQuinta Rewards patrons. Great location managed by a top notch staff! Thanks & see you again!
My wife and I and two pups stayed here on our way from Texas to N Carolina, mostly because the hotel is pet friendly AND reasonably priced. For those reasons, our expectations were not too high, but when we pulled into the parking lot, we were pleasantly surprised! This hotel is quite new, beautifully decorated, and clean as a whistle. We had a king bed, walk-in shower, fridge, and even included a free breakfast. The latter was nothing special, but better than average. Overall, I'd give this property a 9.5 out of 10....not perfect, but darn close!
We stopped at the rest center near Tuscaloosa . Got a book with discounts for hotels in Alabama . Found a deal on a hotel room at the La Quinta . Stopped in after 10 hour drive. Gave the lady at the desk the coupon.....and with a swift ...That Ain’t Us ..even though that’s the only La Quinta in town ..All she could say was ..That Ain’t Us...told us to go to the Roadway Inn ..maybe they will give the deal..:😂😂😂. Bye bye La Quinta ..Never again. I will say it looked like a nice place.
