Staff were so friendly and helpful! Very respectful and full of character! Pool was lovely and rooms were superbly clean and spacious. Food was beautiful. It was good value however they include tips with everything you order so it is a lot more than you think. It’s a bit far out of town/beach so you will need to get a taxi. Very much enjoyed our stay.

We stayed here for the first half of our honeymoon trip. If you’re looking for poshness and a bit of culture close to many fun activities, this is the best place. The pool is great. The open restaurant is stunning anytime if the day. There is a lot of construction happening at the moment. Don’t let that keep you from booking and enjoying your stay. It’s not the hotels fault. It’s close to a lot fun activities. You’re two miles from the beach. You can rent a bike or a car. They are affiliated with other hotels on the beach you could enjoy when not at the hotel. We really did enjoy our stay. Very private. We had the jacuzzi tub garden room. Amazing for its price.

here is my list of pros and cons for Aluna Pros: beautiful atmosphere, pool area is really pretty nestled within jungle rooms were really nice and modern with beautiful décor, comfortable beds cons: they play zen\trance\dance music outside by the pool..its fairly loud and it plays into the night. Very annoying when you have had a full day of travel and want to sleep even with balcony doors closed you can still hear it food: was ok, nothing great i expected the guacamole to be pretty good and i was extremly disapointed, overall food was not the greatest we went out to eat we were woken up numerous times in the middle of the night by screaming/yelling drunks above us moving furniture around, not the hotels fault but this place is more for a young crowd not for couples who want t relax or families....

This is one of my favorite places in Tulum, it has very good service, they are very flexible and accessible. In general the rooms are very well equipped and the beds are very comfortable. You have nearby places to go out in downtown and it is also close to the hotel zone.

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay overall! The location is in between town and the beach, so this is for you if you would like to bike to both, which is what we did. However, be aware that there is inadequate lighting in this area which can make biking at night scary. The staff here is extremely friendly and helpful. One thing they could work on is making it easier to order room service. The restaurant has a lot of vegetarian and vegan options, which was great for us. However, we wished the food was more regional. The pool and the landscaping on the property are great- it's a little paradise! Overall, a great stay and a convenient location! We would definitely consider returning because it is a really good value for such a nice new hotel

This was my first trip to Tulum, so I was flying blind essentially on where to stay-but boy was I thankful I choose Aluna Tulum! It was a truly gorgeous resort! Clean, beautifully decorated, the pool was perfect, and the staff was unprecedented. The staff was friendly, helpful, professional, outstanding! It was a 15 min bike ride to the beach, and super short taxi ride to downtown. I highly enjoyed my stay here. The last night I switched to a suite to treat myself. The standard room was exceptional, but the suite was a true luxury and affordable! I enjoyed the outside Jacuzzi and all the of room amenities. I will stay here again for sure and highly-recommend it to anyone, especially if you don't want to pay the beachfront prices but still want the beachfront resort treatment and facilities. I miss it already! Thank you Aluna Tulum for being a hidden gem and wonderful surprise.

I tend to give weight to "average ratings" the most because they contain both pros and cons of any experience. So I hope this review is useful. Pros: -The hotel is situated in the actual town of tulum which is more authentic than its beach side counterpart. -The hotel had beautiful pool and landscape but the most important thing is it was very imitate. Great for a couples getaway. -I selected the junior suite which showcase a beautiful layout, clean linen, and had a nice jacuzzi. -Complimentary beach towels and also a partnering beach lounge access. -The front staff were available 247. -The valet was also available 247. CONS -the most frustrating thing about my experience with the hotel started even before I got there. I paid for 4 days in advanced through hotels.com which offers good deals in off season time. My flight was delayed and the next flight was not until the next day. I called the front office and spoke with Hector and Hotels.com. When i first spoke with the hotel staff, they offered to return one night back to my credit card for a small fee. I agreed to cut my losses and contacted hotels.com to say Aluna agreed to return my money. Unfortunately, after 30 mins waiting on the phone, hotels.com told me that Aluna would not honor that request. Not only that, Aluna asked for proof that my flight was delayed. I provided them proof. They debated and then decided the answer was still no... I tried to understand Aluna's plight, it was a business overall. But the most egregious thing was that the hotel was perhaps at 30 percent capacity. That was strike 1. -The construction was crazy loud! My gf and I slept in on some days with noticable noise that sounded as if construction was happening right above. In further investigation, it was the building right next door. If you were out and about, the construction wouldnt be a big problem. I clocked the noise to start at 830 and wnd roughly 2-3pm. Construction is everywhere in Tulum to meet the demand of the tourists. We got use to the noise but something to be aware of. Strike 2. -I love nature as much as the next guy. But , when you come face to face with perhaps a poisonous scorpion while you're taking a shower... that is not good. Not once did this happen but twice! The first day was with a small scorpion. We trapped it and left it for room service. The next day, the hotel room was clean but they left the scorpion! On top of that, we found the meg of scorpions...see picks. Unfortunately, after the hotels poor response to the items listed above... I did not have much hope that the hotel would do anything. -FYI, the gas station next door is quite mischievous. They do bill swapping and inflate costs on gas. Just be warned! Conclusion - amazing trip with my gf. Hotel looked amazing but can be improved. I probably would try other hotels when I come back to Tulum.

We stayed in Aluna for a week in March. Pros The hotel is new, very clean and very comfortable The bedrooms are large and airy with comfortable beds Great air con and WiFi The pool area is nice and relaxing The location between the town and beach is great if you are happy to travel around by bike, otherwise it is a bit too far to walk to the beach We didn't eat much food in the hotel, but what we had was very nice Cons Reception staff were not very friendly, for the most part. When we checked out they didn't even ask us if we enjoyed our stay! Just asked for a credit card They also weren't very knowledgeable about airport transfer options The hotel bikes are overpriced. If you're staying for a number of days you can rent bikes much more cheaply from places on the main road or in the town There is still some construction work taking place in the mornings beside the hotel, so if you are a light sleeper this might bother you, but it didn't bother me

I stayed at Aluna with 3 other friends for 2 nights in March. It calls itself a luxury hotel but we honestly were underwhelmed. It was good, but not great. We got a room on the ground floor but we were given the first room which has a balcony facing the restaurant, not the pool directly, so in the mornings we would hear the clinking of plates before 7am, The hotel did not seem full at all, so we were disappointed that we didn't get a ground unit across from the pool and further away from the noise. Also the room lacks decor and there isn't even a mirror anywhere in the room except for one above the bathroom sink, so it was a bit difficult for 4 girls trying to get ready at the same time :) There also wasn't a single plug in the bathroom, so given that the only mirror was there, it was a bit odd.. so we would be blowdrying or doing out hair in the bedroom without a mirror. Girl problems I guess :) These are all minor things , but I would expect a hotel that calls itself luxury to have these basics. The last negative I would say, was that each day we wanted to rent a bike (first day we tried a bit later, maybe around 11am but second day we tried around 830am) and both times they told us there were no regular bikes available. The positives are, the staff was very friendly. When I asked for 3 wine glasses for our room, they brought them, opened our wine and gave us an ice bucket. the breakfast was also very good and inexpensive, and we really enjoyed it. it would be a nice touch if it was included but the price was not bad. The hotel is very close to the entrance to aldea zama, so makes for easy exit to town or the beach. wifi is good and we had no issues with it.

First I'd like to get out of the way my complaints, as minor as they are. The only thing I didn't like is that rather than a dresser to put my clothes in, there was a TV stand with shelves, and the lack of an iron in the room. That being said, this place us amazing. Richardo at the front dest was very helpful in telling us where to go off the beaten path and went above and beyond to make sure that everything was perfect. The food served at the onsite restaurant was just amazing as the service that Jorge and his staff provided. The staff makes sure to go above and beyond in any way they can. They even went so far as to make a special dish that is not on the menu. The ambiance here is relaxing. I'm use to large resorts with a serious lack of personal touches, this place definitely made the trip special. I Would stay here again, I can only see them getting better.
