We had great family room with a mezzanine & 2 big double beds. There is a Pool & a great restaurant, the lovely meal was much welcomed after a very long drive. Quiet peaceful surroundings away from the motorway in a wooded area.
We stayed here in family rooms both in December and January. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The meal which we had in the room was excellent quality. We had two dogs with us so an ideal place to allow them the safety and freedom of the surrounding woods to stretch their legs after a long drive. It is worth the detour for this alone.
This is our 3rd visit to this Hotel, using it as a half way stop after skiing in the French Alps. A little off the beaten track but worth it once you arrive, peaceful and quiet. The parking is secure close and easy to the Hotel itself.
We stopped at this hotel on our way from Belgium to the French slopes this Xmas holiday. When looking for a stopover place before our trip, this place looked comfortable and the price was very reasonable (we received a rate of just over 100€ for a family of four - room only). In the end, we were happy with our choice. The room was large (two double beds, one of which on an additional floor within the room), and the breakfast was reasonably priced (15€ for the adults, our two kids ate for free) and very varied and good quality. We were less impressed with the dinner we had at the hotel upon our arrival. The food was ok, but only just, and less than what I'm used to in France. Another downside is that the place is not all that easy to find in the dark - it lies in the countryside, at the end of a long driveway, of which the entrance is tricky to find. But all being said, this was a very convenient stopover place - we'll be using it again in future.
This was our second visit to the Property, so we knew what to expect. On arrival, there is no assistance with luggage but I am sure that if you asked at Reception, they would magic somebody to help. The Room was much the same as the last one, with an upstairs sleeping area, accessed via slightly steep stairs. This did not appeal to me too much as it looked a bit hazardous visiting the bathroom on the lower level ! We requested a room change which was promptly done. The second room had a double bed on the lower level plus a further doble on the upper level. We did not use the Restaurant as we had our two dogs with us so we opted for room service. The food was excellent and promptly sent to the room. The bed was comfortable and in the morning we again had room service at a cost of €10.00 each. Not bad value but I could not raised much enthusiasm for the pot of apple mush which looked and tasted like baby food. With Breakfast done, we were soon on our way for the three and a half hour drive to Calais. As a general comment, when we stayed last time in the summer, the room was too hot because the Air Filter in the Air Conditioner was choked solid with dust so there was no cold airflow from the unit. This time, the room was too chilly for the same reason that Hot air could not flow out due to blocked filters. The Management should arrange to have the filters cleaned from time to time.
When I first read reviews on Trip Advisor I didn't know what to expect as some people complained about few different things. We stayed for three days and I must say everything was perfect. Rooms are very spacious and clean with a nice views, nice lounge with a fireplace and very lovely and helpful staff. We had breakfast and dinner in the hotel's restaurant and food was so delicious, especially dinner. I must mention girl called Cécile who served us for dinner both times. She was amazing, very kind and helpful. I would recommend this place to anyone who's in the area looking for a hotel.
I used the hotel as a stopping place on my journey through France - and for that t was not the best place to chose. It's too far away from the A5 and the detour was not worth it. The hotel is situated in the beautiful setting of a national park. Certainly an asset. But if you're not playing Golf, you probably will not be able to truly enjoy it. You should only visit, if you do play Gold - and the you will probably have a marvellous time. The welcome upon arrival was first a bit hesitant, but then really good. The only really good point about this hotel. The lady took her time, was smiling - that's the way it should be. The room was large, also good. But you see and feel the age of everything. Everything OK, but not more. Do not try to change the settings of the air conditioning. It's explained, but it does not work properly. And even if you stop it, it doesn't. So, it's always rather noisy in the room. The bed was ok. The bathroom also a bit shabby and in my case not a 100 percent clean - don't want to see the hairs of the visitors before me in the bathtub. Rather unconvincing was the restaurant - for me at least. Unless you are huge meat eater you are lost here. No 21st Century kitchen with lots of vegetables or other vegetarian dishes. And what I did get, noodles with vegetables was, sadly, worse than if you had opened any kind of Buitoni ready to serve sauce. Breakfast was better - a huge buffet. albeit one that looked bigger than it actually was. No greetings here. You just sit down your breakfast business. There wer staff, but completely unaware for people around, as if guests did not exist. A bit spooky. A smile in the morning probably could do wonders here. Check-out was again OK, not that cheerful as upon arrival, but OK. All in all, a strange hotel in beautiful landscape. Would probably have much more potential.
Stayed in this hotel en route to Switzerland by motorcycle. Lovely setting, nice relaxed atmosphere and good room. GPS didn't seem to know where it was but some hotel signs along the way helped us out. Good food and pleasant bar.
This is a great hotel that we use at least twice each year on our journey from the UK to Switzerland or further afield. It's the perfect distance from the eurotunnel (approx 4 hours). The food in the restaurant in the evening is very good and the wine on offer is equally as good! If you book far enough in advance you can get it at a very reasonable price, having said that it's not overly expensive anyway!
We travelled with a disabled person and understood, when booking, that there were no disabled adapted rooms. As we were only staying one night so this was not a problem. We had a room with a second double bed on a mezzanine floor which suited our needs. The website offered an option to book dinner and we took this to indicate that the restaurant may get full. As we were going to arrive early evening, we thought this may be a good option. On arrival, the restaurant was almost full so booking was a good choice. We had no problems with the wheelchair.
