Super 8 Raton

We needed to stay somewhere really quick and chose this Super 8. The parking lot was a little hard to find in the dark but there was plenty of parking. Be sure to lock up your cars because there were random people walking around the area. The rooms were older and could have been a bit cleaner, but it was fine for an overnight stay.

Worst than any hotel or hostel anywhere! Filthy and unsafe. fire alarm missing, filth filth and more filth.

I needed an overnight stay in Raton and found this Super 8 because it came up as a dog-friendly hotel. I've stayed at Super 8 hotels in the past that were very satisfactory, unfortunately, the quality of this room was very poor - room was dark, muggy smell; but thankfully the bathroom was clean. It turned out the hotel is not dog-friendly, but the young lady at check-in was kind enough to let me stay the overnight with no additional charge. I would only stay here again if the rooms were in better condition

The outside look is deceiving because the room was great with the exception of some needed accessories for us older customers. There are no rooms available without stairs, even the main floor has three steps to get down to it. Also, there needs to be bar to grab to get into the the tub/shower. Other than that, the room was very nice and clean.

There were hairs in the tub, a hair on the sheet, and a damp dirty towel hanging behind the door. The room was spacious and staff nice. I guess they just forgot to clean the room.

No issues. Good location near food and interstate. Staff helpful with check in issue

The man who checked us in was great. Recommended a good New Mexican restraint, also warned us not to use the back entrance of the hotel since bears like to hang out there. OK? The room was simple, but clean. One bed, no closet. We could only find one electrical outlet and it was in the bathroom. There was only one bed and it only had two flat pillows. We asked for a couple of more pillows, but they only had one. The stay was ok for the price.

The guy who checked us in was very friendly. He recommenced a good restaurant and warned us of the bears in the area. The hotel is very basic. There was only one queen size bed with two pillows. We asked for more but they only had one more pillow. No closet and only one electrical outlet. The channels were limited. No weather channel. Very basic.

This place wasn't anything special but we were not looking for anything special. Just wanted a clean room to crash in and this we received. The hot waffles in the morning is a good thing.

Staff was very nice and let us change rooms when the first was very smelly. Unfortunately the second room wasn't much better. The free breakfast was good.

Good place to stay. It was clean and priced right. I would stay there again.

While this hotel is close to the freeway, it is not very well marked how to get there. It sits back off the road and we ended up driving through a restaurant parking lot to get there. The rooms are old and outdated. For the same amount of money we spent on other rooms, this room didn't compare. It did have a cont. breakfast (cold cereal and muffins in the lobby) but there were only 3 tables to sit at. Comparable to a Motel 6 but $30 more expensive.

When we arrived we were told that there were no rol away beds available. Our rooms were on th 3rd floor. This hotel does not have an elevator and we were travelling with a good amount of gear that must be loaded and unloaded each night from the vehicle. This made for several trips per person hauling gear up three flights of stairs each time we left or arrived at the hotel. I will never stay in this hotel again and would never recommend this hotel to anyone. I was very dissapointed.

I booked a non smoking room but there was a strong smell of smoke in the room and no sign on the door similar to other rooms indicating that such a room was non smoking. We checked in and left the hotel to sightsee. When we returned to the hotel and spent time in the room we began to feel the smoke smell was intolerable. I went to the reception and asked for a transfer. The receptionist said that the room was in fact a non smoking one. I pointed out that it had not a "non smoking" sign on the door. The receptionist said we would forfeit the payment if we checked out since we had used the bathroom and the room would need to be serviced again, he offered to give a spray which would deororise the room ,we declined-feeling the deodrant simply masks the smell. The bathroom was clean as were towels. The bed clothes were worn and tatty and in need of replacement. The staff were very helpful, polite and friendly.

This is a great hotel if your passing through or just need something simple.

I would say this hotel is a solid two star hotel. While it wasn't beautiful, it was clean and we felt comfortable and safe there, and feel like we did get our money's worth.
