We had pleasant stay at Famissi Hotel. The hotel is situated at good location with scenic view of meteora from hotel room. The hotel also offered nice breakfast. We enjoyed our stay here, although the room is average. The hotel staff are very helpful. One afternoon shift lady staff offered us great help to contact our local driver for sightseeing. She is also quick response to us in solving our room air-con issue. We also feel touched by one of the gentleman from the hotel service team. He show us way of making sandwich from toaster for breakfast and even make for us one. Thank you for the hotel staff support.

At checkin some lamps were not working in the room. I was told that the room is airconditioned however i was not told that it is not working... Breakfast was poor comparing other hotels in this part of the country. I can not recomand this hotel

Excellent location, very nice decoration, spacious rooms, Good staff. Quiet hotel, average breakfast but ok for the price you pay. Rooms could easily be more clean. That would justify a higher room price. Apart from this everything else is very ok!

First of all PLEASE do not mistaken this place with the Famissi Eden or The Famissi Kosta. There are 3 Famissi hotels in Kalambaka. I've stayed at the Eden before and it's nothing like this dump, please read my review on the Eden... This place is a dump. I was going to stay here for 2 days, I stayed only one night, the next day I booked next door at the Divani. First of all the room didn’t look like what was advertised, the room I got was a dated old room from the 80’s with a tiny little box television that only had like 3 channels, none in English. They advertise Free WiFi, what they don’t tell you is that the free wifi is only in the lobby of the hotel and no wifi is available in rooms! Yes no WiFi in the rooms! What kind of a place has no wifi in the rooms? I guess I should of know right from the second I received the key to my room and it was an actual turn lock key! LOL! Seriously? Who still uses keys? This place is stuck in the 80’s. The room wasn't cleaned properly, the carpet had stains on it and it looked very old, the walls had cracks, there was rust and corrosion on the shower and faucet in the bathroom and the rooms facing the street don’t have sound proof windows, you can hear people walking by. No right people would stay in this place, it seems to get all it’s business from school trips and groups. There was a bus in front of the hotel dropping off kids. The kids were running up and down the halls ways, slamming doors, screaming and yelling, I couldn't get any sleep. Also if you have baggage like most people do when they stay at a hotel, you will notice you have to lift your baggage up 5 or 6 steps because there is no ramp to roll you bags up. When you finally lift all your bags, you will find an automatic sliding door leading to the lobby which is perfect! But as soon as you get passed the sliding door there’s another set of doors you must go through to get to the reception desk and they are not automatic sliding doors but manual doors you must pull on which makes it difficult to hold the door open while dragging your baggage. No thought went into the design of this place that’s for sure! Had there been any thought they would of had more then just one elevator that you have to wait forever for because school kids are going up and down at 8am. The service was also terrible, no uniformed employees, the guy behind the counter was more occupied with talking to his buddy instead of helping me out. He thought it was funny that I was making a big issue over no wifi. I guess these villagers have no idea what a business traveler is and that wifi is an essential tool to us and that a nice clean quite room is also important to business travelers, we need to sleep so we can work and function the next day, we are not on vacation. I wouldn't suggest this place to anyone. It looks like the owners have given up on it, they should sell it to someone who is educated in the hospitality industry and let someone who knows how to run a hotel bring it back to life because it is in a good location and that is the only good thing this hotel has going for it right now… That, and a automatic sliding door in front.

We were pretty disappointed with this hotel. We stayed during the off season, and it's clear it caters to large tour groups who don't have a choice where they stay. Our room stank of cigarette smoke, and we couldn't get rid of the smell. After a day of exploring the monasteries we couldn't even have a shower as there was no hot water, and the shower was broken. The tub was so small you couldn't even fill it up to sit in it to make up for the lack of shower. The lobby is unnecessarily grand - perhaps the money spent there could have been used to improve the rooms? WIFI is only available in the lobby, which is inconvenient (and awkward when you're the only ones in the hotel!). The staff were friendly though, and the location great. The view from the Meteora side is spectacular. Breakfast was ok. I wouldn't stay again to be honest unless rooms were massively overhauled (or prices reduced to reflect the quality of the rooms).

The staff were as helpful as could be, however there is a limit to what they can do with a hotel that was badly built originally, and is now past its' sell-by date. The ground floor is beautiful. The upper floors with all the rooms are disintegrating (and the bathrooms are awful), although the views out the back are great. There is much noise from within the hotel - primarily I think boilers, bathrooms etc - resulting in little sleep. The restaurant only serves tour-groups. A pity, as the staff really do try hard.

We werw a group of 6 FRIENDS and visiting the MONASTERIES at METEORA and stayed at KALAMPAKA for two nights..The HOTEL is beautiful and very clean. The rooms were comfortable. The breakfast was delicious with local products. We all agreed that the FAMISSI HOTEL was a pleasand exeprience for a very reasonable price. If I was in the area again, I would stay there again..

I loved it here, people were so helpful, the room was nice, the lobby looked beautiful and the region is stunning. I had never heard of Meteora before and got surprised in a very positive way. Reception can help you to arrange tours and will give you advice where the best spots for pictures are.

This place is amazing, its located a 5 minute walk from everything. I stayed here 2 nights. Its quiet and has a nice view to the rocks in the mountains. The lobby is very nice and comes complete with a very nice fire place. The rooms are nice and big, clean and very comfortable. The staff is incredibly friendly and make you feel right at home. I really enjoyed my sty here and will be coming back for sure. Its just right.

We stayed here one night as part of a tour. We had a street facing room which had a balcony, the room was average and I had to be careful not to bang my head on the old style TV hanging on the wall. You had to use the wifi in reception which was a bit of a pain after a long day you just wanted to stay in your room. The dinner that was included was nice, but no toast for breakfast disappointing. Hotel reception was lovely and nicely decorated and the town was quaint. The views were amazing capped off with our trip to Meteora. I would stay here again.
