My wife and I stayed at DMH in October 2017. The room was nice and spacious enough, staff were friendly, etc. - but I wouldn't recommend the hotel. And here's why - you're a sucker if you stay in Meteora. This room, and similar ones nearby, aren't worth the price. They're full of tour buses. The town's built largely for tourism. Restaurant options are weak. While I was happy enough with our stay, I would hope others learn from this mistake and stay elsewhere...
A nice and comfortable hotel after the Meteora visits. Helpful staff, good clean rooms with wifi, and other facilities offered by hotel. There is an outdoor swimming pool, the Kalambaka town is just a walking distance where souvenirs and other local products are sold. I especially like the breakfast and dinner buffets where local fruits, yogurts etc are included. Restaurant staff are helpful which makes your stay an enjoyable and of course I will definitely recommend this hotel for your trip to Meteora.
We only stayed for one night, but found it to be comfortable and very affordable. Good location in the city and I'd stay again. The staff were helpful. The beds were firm, but I love a firm matress. Quiet as well and not outrageous noise.
Not in the center of this small town, but the location is OK, since this is a SMALL town. The dinner buffet is good, but don’t expect fancy food. As for the breakfast, watch for the early morning rush hour, can be much worse than dinner. Odd number room can have view on Rocky Mountain. The size of room is ok, but the mattress is just to soft for me. Anyway, for a brief stay, this hotel maybe the best bet on this town.
Just an hour ago, the wifi service from unstable becomes completely unavailable, called the operation staff on phone, the rude lady just said "i don't know", not even try to help. I asked her "what do you mean by i don't know, there is no wifi service available now and can you check for me?", she said me call again 7am next morning wait for the next shift staff. To you the staff, wifi service seems such a minor thing as you are a local, but it is important for tourists especially in such remote town, i hope the hotel could take it seriously, try to be considerate to your guests!
We stayed in the Divani Meteora when visiting the magnificent Meteora Monasteries Perched high on gigantic rocks. The Great Meteoran, Saint Stephanos, Saint Nikolaos,Varlaam,Agia Trias, and Roussanou. The hotel is a good standard tourist place. It is Clean and the bedrooms are a good standard. Many tour parties visit here. The food we ate was buffet style. Perfectly acceptable food but not very local in style. There is an indoor pool but it was too cold to swim in. There is an outside pool which has a sun longing are around the pool. Again the pool is cold.
sept 2017, limited hotel choices in area, positioning for monastery visits. Clean small room, no safe, no soap, internet in lobby. Commercial quality food buffet, "open a can" quality. Next to walk-able street of shops. "Location".
This is a very nice hotel, only reason for 4 vs 5 stars is the scale. Service was very good, but there were many to serve so some times the wait was lengthy. That said, great location kind of on the edge of the walking part of town, so convenient and not terribly bustling. We walked to some very pleasant restaurants, bakeries and shops. At night, the view of the hills is spectacular. I have not stayed elsewhere in this area to offer a basis of comparison, but I do recommend this hotel
The hotel is situated not too far from the rocks. We were on the 3rd floor facing the rocks and could see one of the montestaries. The hotel was very clean but a little dated. Our room had an old tube TV. They have a big pool outside and even though the temperature was in the low 90s during the day, the water was cold and not pleasant. We decided to have the buffet dinner in the hotel and it was just average but convenient. The breakfast was decent with many options.
I stayed here one night as part of the 4 day Classical tour with G. O. Tours. I had a room on the third floor with a view of the rocks. Some members of my group were given a room across the hall with no view but spoke to reception and they were moved to a room with a view. The hotel also has a glass elevator so you can look at the rocks on the way up and down. I really like the glass and openness of the design of the hotel taking advantage of the landscape around. The hotel has a very large lobby and a very nice bar. Breakfast and dinner were good. The WiFi worked best in the lobby. The town of Kalambaka was very nice with lots of cafes and places to eat or have a drink. It was a short walk to town. After hitting the ATM we stopped at a place for wine and were also brought a delicious plate of fruit probably the best nectarines and plums grown from the owners garden. I wish I could remember the name. Touring the monasteries of Meteora was amazing. We drove around all 6 and visited 2: Moni Agiou Stefanou and Moni Agias Triados (famous for being featured in the James Bond film For Your Eyes Only). If you are going to attempt to reach this monastery it is quite the trek with lots of steep stairs but the views are well worth it. It is was spectacular. On the way back we stopped at Meteora Restaurant Gertsou Family. Granny was in teh kitchen and she explains what she has cooked for the day and after you chose she makes the plate for you. I had the meatballs and potatoes and it was very good.
