Do not try and check in early. My husband and I drove over 5 hours and made sure to give us time to get over the pass. We arrived around 1pm and went to the hotel to check in. The lady with red hair was being rude. She was sassy and basically made us feel stupid for even trying to check in early. She made it clear to us that we needed to wait until after 3pm and couldn't check in earlier. We came back at 2:45 and there were different people at the counter and they were so nice and friendly - changed our whole mood. If the red head is at the counter you won't get in early.

The hotel room and premises were maintained very well and is close to work places such as the university campus and the national lab making it ideally suited for work stays. Breakfast spread was very nice.

To many young kids running around keeping us up, slammming doors running down hall ways

Very comfortable and welcoming resting place to come back to after stressful dinner meeting. Inner courtyard and patio provided a cool oasis access from the room door.

Nice king room. Very comfortable bed. Breakfast with fresh fruit, scrambled eggs, meat and potatoes. Lousy wireless Internet service.

I had only half of the electrical outlets working so difficult to keep computer etc charged and the refrigerator was not working-room 251

I am a deaf traveler and I am accustomed to having a vibrating alarm clock provided by the hotels. The two staff at the front desk the evening I arrived insisted that they had no such thing and wanted ME to call the manager. I informed them that by law they were required to provide the equipment and I was sure that they had it, they just needed to find out where it was. They finally called the manager and found out that the equipment was on a shelf right behind them. But the frustration of being told that they don't have it and the staff resistance to resolving the issue made me feel that I won't stay here again.

The Rooms were very clean and nice and made my stay really comfortable. The Staff was very friendly and the location was was convenient. The Restaurant was very nice and the food was excellent. I plan to stay there again.

Check in was a little longer than expected due to computers but both women at front desk were accommodating and friendly,

I really did enjoy this place except for the random change in price

Good value and nice view of the lake. Only downside is sound proof is not desirable - we were in a room that's next to the stairs and it was pretty noisy in the morning.

We had a great time. Make sure you get the free breakfast.

Clean comfortable beds, room tastefully decorated with vaulted ceilings, staff friendly and helpful and didn't even have to ask for late check out as regular checkout time is 12 noon

Nice room with vaulted ceilings and comfortable beds. In room coffee included cofeemate creamer rather than the standard no name cheap creamer which was a plus in my book. Other family members booked a lower standard room (I wont mention name) and paid the same price as me. They have a standard late check out of 12 Noon which was other plus.

Checked into the Hanford House around 7PM in a fairly long line. I was surprised with 8-10 people in line they only had one person at the desk. The hotel is stuck in a time warp, still in the 70's with updates here and there. It was no doubt the best of the best in its time, it still is in a beautiful location and the grounds are very nice. The pool and courtyard is great. One of the more comfortable beds I have stayed in. A face lift is all this place needs to be best in the area again.

The hotel needs updating but the location by the river and the outdoor pool and hot tub made up for any faults.

I enjoyed my stay at the Red Lion. The hotel is older but well maintained. The hotel sent a cab to pick me up from the airport at no charge . Food was very good. The hotel grounds are park like and you have direct access to the city park on the river. I would stay there again.

nice and quiet, clean beds and bathroom, easy to find off the highway.

Our pleasure in the spacioius and well-furnished room we were initially given was shadowed when we realized that the park it faced was having a sort of city-sponsored family fair that would involve music until 9or 10am that night. But on learning that we had hoped for a really quiet room (we had just arrived from a time zone 3 hours later, and planned an early bedtime) the hotel quickly moved us to a room that faced the quiet river area on the other side -- with apologies for the quite minor effort of repacking a few things and shifting there! The human warmth of the staff's response, added to comfort of the rooms and the hotel's amenities, will definitely bring us back on our next visit to Richland.

We were just in town for the night. It met our needs. The room was clean and comfortable. We did have housekeeping pounding on our door at 9:00 a.m. so that was a little annoying.
