very good hotel, big and comfortable rooms. Very good service, the staffs are really helpful . This hotel is ideal if you drive. Its bit outside the town, If you like to visit Venice you can take bus and train.
Unfortunately, the restaurant was closed the day we arrived, but they upgraded our room for free. Parking was free. It was quiet and had a large bathroom with a combination jet tub and shower. Breakfast was excellent.
This was a really great place to stay. Tidy, clean and a reasonable price. All the staff were very helpful, especially the reception staff. Yes, there are some rules, wear a cap in the pool, etc. But it helps them keep the pool clean and other, bigger hotels don't even bother to have their pool open this time of year! Nice and quiet, beast to fine (we walked from the airport - I wouldn't recommend that, but we liked it) Just down the road, a wonderful gelato place, with lovely staff and further along an amazing Mexico restaurant. I would definitely come here again. Thanks so much
Stroppy manager on reception who demands payment of the tourist tax before you've even got a key. Everything is too much trouble for him. The pool is a joke, they surround it with plastic cordons and insist you wear a plastic hair net and buy it from reception (1.50 euros) along with payment for a pool towel (2.50). Never normally write reviews but for this place I'll make an exception. Avoid.
This hotel is bike friendly and we found the staff attentive enough. Yes, the rooms have not seen a designers' touch since 1972, but we could have lived with that since it is a non-smoking hotel on our route into Venice. What will wake you up at 12:30 AM in the morning (like me currently) to write a review is that the hotel sits above a disco. That's right, the thumping beat of a bass will accompany you throughout your "restful" night. Ridiculous. I let our tour company know it was unacceptable. Any room on the first floor 100-160 will vibrate with dance sounds until 3:00 AM if you are here over a Saturday night. Not recommended at all.
The hotel is quite nice. They gave as a big room (for European standards) with comfortable beds. Breakfast was really nice and they lent us bicycles for free so we could ride around town. Swimming pool and sauna are also nice. What struck us, however, is the never ending list of rules and warnings: "don't go to the pool without a swimming cap", "be advised that breakfast includes only what is on display on the buffet and all else should be paid separately", "we do not replenish the breakfast buffet so if you come down late it's on your own risk"... all these make people uncomfortable. When the lady offered me a coffee on the breakfast room I even hesitated to accept it. In the end espresso, cappuccino, tea and other hot beverages, tho not "on display", were free, they did replenish the buffet and no one used swimming caps. So they have all this signs just to bug guests! But other than that it's a nice hotel and if I'm back to Treviso I'll seriously consider booking it again.
Hotel was well appointed- the front desk chap had a bad attitude and made us feel really unwelcome, especially with his couldn't care less approach to our request for laundry services. He even told us to complain on TA. This attitude transferred to the barman who was so unhappy about serving us, we couldn't believe how he survived as an independent contractor running the Hotel Bar. Couldn't wait to get out of there- we arrived from a cycling tour, maybe they think cyclists are inferior tourists. We spend like everyone else!
There's much to commend in this hotel but the little things leave it just short of very good. I suppose it would have been the height of style in 1976, but it feels just a little bit left behind. The number of notices is impressive and there are all sorts of rules and regulations spelt out that undo the warm welcome given on arrival. We were staying for three nights for the recent Gloucester rugby match and were not terribly impressed to receive a call from reception on Saturday morning saying we needed to be out of our room by 11am for the maid to clean it (we were checking out the next day!) The cockerel theme of the hotel is done to death although the crowing cock clock, that signalled the end of breakfast at 10am, was amusing. The breakfast spread was quite impressive but it would have been nice to have been offered more tea. The double room was massive and clean, although the bed was hard and was simply two single mattresses pushed together. Location is out of town but reasonably handy for the railway station and, most importantly, the rugby ground (Glos won 41-0, by the way!)
A hotel outside the walls of the old town, the Ca del Galletto has been purpose built as a high class hotel. Even though it is a little dated these days, it still provides every comfort a business traveller could need. The rooms are well appointed and spacious. There is a public lounge. Attached to the hotel, but independent, there is a bistro, bar and restaurant where hotel guests may receive a discount. There is secure outdoor parking. The hotel is some distance from the old town - walkable, but uncomfortable. It is in an area of no interest with few local facilities.
The hotel itself is very nice - clean, with all amentities, quite. There is a restaurant just next to it which was also nice. What you have to bear in mind is that from the Treviso airport, it will cost you EUR 17 to reach the hotel by taxi and the public transport is not very convenient, in particular on holidays. So plan carefully how you will reach the hotel.
