We stayed here for two nights on a cycling holiday. It is nn an old baglio on a narrow road in the outskirts of Marsala...it is about 2.5km to the centre, not a great walk and they charge €5 per person for a taxi. Superb swimming pool (nice size with nice garden surrounding). No restaurants or bars in the immediate vicinity so if you want to eat out you need to go into Marsala. The room was not large but it was clean and comfortable. It was in the main building, there are additional rooms in individual igloos in the garden. Unfortunately our room overlooked the main courtyard and on our first night we could hear the disco from the wedding until 1.30am (there was another, noisier wedding in progress when we left on the Saturday afternoon). The only bar the hotel seems to have is by the pool, with only outdoor seating...in October it was a little cold to sit out after 1800hrs. On our second night it had run out of beer...only had craft beer at 15€ a bottle, no peroni, nastro azzuro, moretti etc. The service on our first night in the restaurant could have been better, waited 10 minutes for a menu. I think they were short staffed. Much better the second night although I was surprised to never be given a wine list...just provided with a bottle of red when I asked for it. Food was not especially memorable and desserts did not seem to be home made. Breakfast was taken by the pool and was good..fresh fruit, yoghurt, cakes and omelettes.
Villa Favorita has a very romantic outdoor restaurant set amongst trees, as well as a nice pool to sunbathe and swim. The hotel building is also old and stylish (note some rooms are in "igloos" in the gardens, not the hotel). It is a party venue - lots of outside space, gardens etc - but hosted a disco the night we were there so don't expect a quiet early night ! Only other quibble was our room a/c which had a very low fan speed, even on max, so it struggled to cool the room.
We spent a wonderful time here mostly by the pool. We could participate in activities such as Aqua gym, darts and water polo. The people running these activities were great. We absolutely loved it here the restaurant at night is great too. I also think it is a great place for families too. Marsala is wonderful to explore.
I was here for the wedding of a close friend and i took the chance to stay there to sleep as well. The resort is fabulous in my opinion and the rooms are good as well, but considering their "cozy" layout it'd be way better if they were renovated (showers are really tiny, pretty but tiny). The location is great, and from the outside it really looks great and attractive. There's a swimming pool and you need caps (that are sold at 2.5€ each). Maybe not really cheap. Breakfast buffet is probably the thing that left me a bit sad: continental breakfast is poor in my opinion, i expected something more from them. Parking is free of charge. Last but not least: the staff is great, and really doing everything to please the customers. But in general they should do some renovation of both rooms and some "services" (like room service, there's none).
This is a nice resort but rooms are very small and need to be renovated. Swimming caps are mandatory for the pool and they are sold at 2.5€ each! A little bit expensive. Staff is good and nice. Breakfast buffet is good. The shower is very small. Parking is free of charge.
We spent 3 nights in the Favorita and unfortunately I was unimpressed, from the outside the Hotel looks great with well manicured grounds and good views and internally too the place was well maintained, a simple checkin and friendly staff made me think we were in for a great 3 days, however it was not to be, the room was very small indeed but that was ok. The first night we were there a wedding reception took place (I think this is their main money earner) which is fantastic because it would be a great place to have a reception, however by about 12:30 with the loud music and noise the party generating and a metal staircase next to our room made it extremely difficult to sleep. the second night same thing but this time we wanted to order room service and we were told no room service, which was very disappointing. all in all great from the outside but that is it
My wife and I visit Italy quite often and Sicily very often. We have been to many places over the years but Villa Favorita is now in our list of relax-full hotels, the kind of place you can stay at without feeling the need to go around site seeing, shopping or other things that we tourists usually do. The accommodation is in igloo- type structures delightfully situated in a mature garden. Each guest has one igloo with a double bed in the main bedroom with an ensuite and a separate room which could either be a living room or double up as a spare bedroom for the kids if required. The rooms are fully air conditioned and are very cosy. Morning breakfast is served in the open air under a large tent in the middle of the garden. There is a lovely pool with a kids pool next to it. The garden is impeccably kept. The main reception is located in an old building which was originally a wine producing factory. The large halls of this building are now being used as wedding halls and in fact there is always a lot of movement during the week-end. For supper, there is an open air restaurant located in another part of the property. Again located in an impeccably kept mature garden, the place is as close to being in heaven as one can imagine. There is an excellent and varied menu and also an extensive wine list. We were only there for 3 nights but we intend to return on a regular basis.
A very nice resort ideal to spend a relaxing holiday. A bit far from the centre. Breakfast is good for a 3 star hotel. Igloo are nice with AC and are very clean. WiFi connection is poor but I recommend this hotel.
After following a really narrow road that was suggested on our navigation system, we arrived at Villa Favorita. Parking our car on the big parking lot is free. We walked around this resort and were amazed at the big size of it all. The resort buildings look really impressive, inside and out. After seeing the swimming pool, we went to the reception. We were welcomed with a glass of Marsala wine and some sweets. The hotel staff showed us the way to our villa. Our villa was devided in a lounge area, bedroom and a bathroom with super narrow shower space. Everything was clean. But the villas aren't as well maintained as the other areas of the resort, which is a pity. Everything in our villa looked and felt dated. Just like the WiFi. The connection was slow and got lost every 5 minutes. At night it got freezing cold in our villa, so a thick blanket is very welcome. Villa Favorita offers a restaurant where we've had dinner. There is a wide variety of dishes to choose from. The food is good and the staff is friendly. Breakfast is also served in the same restaurant. It offers a big buffet.
I am rating this hotel as very good because it had a lot of very positive aspects despite a few negative ones. It is beautifully situated in lush, well cared for gardens and grounds. It is a pleasure to walk through the gardens and enjoy the flowers and magnificent trees. It is a good 25 minute brisk walk into town so a car or taxis are essential unless you like walks in a not very exciting neighbourhood. The staff were exceedingly helpful and went out of their way to try and resolve problems we encountered. Food was good too. we dines there on two evenings and had breakfasts and everything was OK apart from the fact that they did not have a selection of Italian beers - only one variety of strong lager available. The main problem is that wi-fi did not work in our room despite the fact that we had a room in the main building and not a pod. I had to continually take my computer into the reception area. As other reviewers have said, this hotel thrives on its many functions and there were four or five private functions going on in various rooms around us leading to disturbance by noise late at night.
