This absolutely wonderful hotel is full of fantastic trees, flowers and open spaces. The dinner is simply fantastic, with typical dishes, music and candels. The very big swimming pool very nice, with the bar inside it. Finally, is useful and very efficient service to go and come back from the beach, n exclusive beach with restaurant and every service. In few worlds the real relax!
The first thing to say about this hotel is that the staff are second to none. Everyone greets you with a smile and a welcome. You really feel pampered. The rooms and accommodation in general are of excellent quality and of very generous proportions. The beds are super comfortable and large. The bathroom is big enough to swing two proverbial cats! We opted for the half board package which we were not sure about before our arrival, never having done so before. This turned out to be one of our best decisions. The food at this hotel is outstanding and we were so happy to be able to eat in every night. The menu varies considerably each evening and the choice provided us with 3 options to each of the 4 courses. The table staff were very polite and attentive and really added considerably to our experience. I would point out that the setting is some 3.5 km from the town and a taxi is expensive. They vary the price according to the number of passengers. The more the higher the price. We had a car which meant that we could pop into town at will and down to any of the close by beaches. The hotel provides a free shuttle to it's beach but we did not make use of that so cannot comment. The car was very useful for touring the surrounding attractions and we could not recommend that enough. The outdoor pool was big and inviting. There is also a children's pool and a large indoor pool. We very much enjoyed this stay and would recommend this hotel to any prospective visitor to the region.
Stayed at this hotel for one night and I loved every inch of it. It is an oasis of peace and tranquillity, great location, not far from many local attractions. The staff is very professional and helpful, the only things that would make the stay more pleasant are 1. a bigger TV; 2. something on the indoor swimming pool to enhance the atmosfere (natural scents, background relaxing music, few plants, other pieces of furniture); 3. the possibility to order poached eggs at breakfast; - last but not least - 4. have the rotating door in the lobby fixed (pushing the door when you get in with a luggage can be hard). Also the room's lights should be checked as they turn on by themselves even during the night.
Located in countryside several kilometers from Mazaro del Vallo. Nothing around the hotel. 10-15 min by taxi to town, too far to walk. 20-30 minutes by taxi if going to dinner in town, as the traffic is snarled and heavy in the early evening. Large rooms, beds wide but only 6 feet long. Spacious baths, no wash cloths. Free wifi but very unreliable and SLOW, plus heavily censors access to sites such as CNN, BBC, etc. Spa, indoor and outdoor pools. Spa is extremely expensive, as is room service and laundry, plus watch out for added charges up to 50%. Breakfast buffet very good, excellent fresh squeezed orange juice, meats, cheeses, vegetables, yogurt, granola. Service at the bar in the lobby was very slow and inattentive.
Wonderful accommodation, food & service. The hotel is what it is superb facilities 5 star but the food 7 star! If you want authentic Italian/Sicilian food, not the usual pasta etc. this is the place. Please note if you do not intend to spend most of the time around the superb pools drinking free drinks (that was our deal) then you need to give some consideration to getting around. There are no local buses or trains so it is hire a car or use local taxis. A trip into Marzara del Vallow will cost you 20 euros each way, The archaeological park 90 euros & the valley of temples 200 euros. There are no restaurants, bars or shops within walking distance. The hotel does not arrange trips or visits or provide a range of taxi services. (They have a bus to their beach in season.) If you do not have an all inclusive deal drinks are very expensive. All inclusive ends at 6-00 pm. Then a bottle of water at dinner will cost you 5 euros. If you do rent a car remember the second document you need an International Driving Permit, You may be fined if you do not have this. If you want a hassle free flight avoid Ryan Air! Having said all this the hotel was fantastic.
My family and I just returned from a week at the Constanza. We had two adjoining rooms and enjoyed every minute. The reception desk staff was very accommodating and spoke English very well. The rooms were clean and very comfortable. The bathroom was large. The outdoor pool, while unheated, was a treat after a day of sightseeing. The only drawback was that the hotel is a bit out of the mainstream - we had a rental car, thank goodness. The morning buffet breakfast was out of the world delicious! So many choices and all so very tasty! The entire hotel staff was professional and friendly. Grazie for great time!
This hotel has the rooms set up in a "U" shape, surrounding the outside pool. While the outside pool is not heated, it's a wonderful respite after a day of traveling. The rooms are large, and the decor takes you back to an earlier time. We had diner at the hotel, and it was excellent. The air conditioning is just OK... it didn't allow us to manage the temperature adequately.
Was pretty disappointed with the Giardino di Constanza Resort. I wouldn't have been as much if I hadn't been led to believe that it was a 5 star luxury resort but my expectations were high and were not met from the moment I stepped across the entrance mat with 'Kempinski' blacked out by what looked like marker pen (I'm guessing it used to be owned by this high-end hotel chain before being sold to 'Blu Hotels') and then into the tarnished and dilapidated revolving doors which had electrical wires sticking out at the bottom - not a great first impression. The entrance lobby is nice, clean, spacious and the reception staff were cheery. I did notice that they had 'The Leading Hotels of the World' posters and signs up which I later found out they shouldn't as they are no longer on that list. As with many of the hotels we have stayed in, we were offered a welcome drink upon arrival which we were looking forward to. Usually you get a glass of wine or a choice but not here; we were told to go the pool bar where we were given a 'fruit punch' which was essentially a glass of fruit juice. I asked if I could have something else and I was told no. The room itself was really big and nicely furnished but one of the little rugs next to our be smelled like pee so we asked for it to be removed. They folded it up and put it in the entrance hall of our room. The swimming pools are nice and big as is the spa but the staff tried to overcharge me slightly for the manicure and the beautician - although very nice and chatty - didn't do a particularly good job of my nails. The gel polish was applied too thickly and it was bumpy on a couple of nails. She also didn't use enough alcohol to wipe them down with afterwards as they were very sticky for quite some time. Not of the many outdoor fountains were on during our 5 days there either, not a huge deal but not something you would expect from a '5* Luxury hotel'. It added to the dilapidated feel of the place a bit.
Very spacious beautiful room. We stayed on a half board basis, food was very good. Service excellent and staff very friendly and accommodating. Overall excellent value. A car would be useful, as the shuttle service goes to the beach and not into town, which is some distance away. A request shuttle service into town for those without transport would be appreciated.
A fabulous resort, apparently brand new, and richly equipped with two swimming pools, two restaurants, various lounges and terraces, not to mention a spa. Great food Sicilian style with impeccable, attentive service. The Clarins spa is stunning: huge and peaceful, it has its own salt pool, dry and humid saunas, and very creative packages that are definitely good value for money. It is so well staffed with young and dynamic personnel, a pleasure to deal with them. The Clarins brand is a good choice as it's a premier cosmetics leader founded in 1954 in France, famous for its natural active components and well-known "Eau Dynamisante". I heard that the hotel had its own beach about a mile from here, I need to investigate the matter further and try this extra gem. I'm still enjoy the pool and I have another 10 days to go! It is to be noted that the resort belongs to the Blu Hotels network, which seems very smartly managed and covers very interesting parts of Italy. I've discovered this venue through VeryChic.com and I'm certainly not disappointed: not only it's very chic but it's... "ottimo!"
