Disio Resort4.0 out of 5.0

My family and I went to the Disio Resort for one week and couldn’t help but feel that our stay was encroaching on their primary focus: events. They had an event on five out of the seven days we were there, which meant shutting down the pool area from (on some days) 1pm onwards; we would have been left at a loose end had we not had a car. Their events looked very lavish which was a stark comparison from what was offered to hotel guests - here’s what you could have had if you had an event. The restaurant maintained a lean menu for the entirety of our stay, which is fine, had the focus on quality been there, which it wasn’t. For example, a green salad was merely iceberg lettuce chopped and put into a bowl, so the food was very disappointing. There were a couple of instances when we turned up for dinner around 8pm yet the restaurant lights were turned off and we had to convince the restaurant team to provide us with a meal. They had a ‘bar’ in reception which was less bar, more glorified mini bar with a bouncer and there was nowhere you could really go during the day for a quick snack or drink. The resort was very understaffed with the morning wait staff doubling up as the cleaning team - needless to say a jack of all trades mentality meant a subpar clean, invariably just a quick making of the bed and emptying of the bathroom bin. Albeit, the staff were very nice and accommodating. The grounds were immaculate and very well maintained so it’s understandable why events are the focus, however, when you see meat being freshly barbequed whilst you’ve just tucked into undercooked pasta with a bland a ragu you do feel a little short changed. If you’re looking for peace and quiet, this is definitely a good place to go, however, make sure you get a car because hotel guests aren’t well catered for when it comes to food and drink and your taste buds will likely be disappointed.
Recently stayed for two nights at this small, but quaint hotel and resort. The staff was friendly and helpful, the rooms were dated, but clean and the breakfast was tasty; however, limited in variety. The first night of our stay we were unable to receive internet. I talked with the staff and they had informed me that they had recently changed to a different company and were having difficulty with the conversion to the new system. I accepted this reason and decided to follow through with our next scheduled stay which was two days later. Upon our arrival, I talked with the individual at the front desk and relayed our experience of the previous stay and he assured us that the problem(s) was fixed. We were shown to our room and our first mishap occurred when the TV did not work. We were shown to another room and settled in for the night, but within 10 minutes discovered that we did not have internet. I contacted the gentleman at the front desk who worked on the issue for at least 30 minutes, but to no avail. We were never able to receive the promised internet, however, this was not a fault of the gentleman who attempted to correct the problem; he tried his best and when he thought he might have the system up and running, we were hit with a severe storm that disrupted everything electrical. Understandably, not everything is within the control of the hotel you book.

Fantastic location. We had a lovely, spacious, clean room and enjoyed the excellent food. It was lovely to be able to relax by the pool in mid-September and we particularly enjoyed trying our hand at a bit of golf. A big thank you to all the staff who made us feel very welcome, and in particular Arianna in reception who did everything she could to make our stay enjoyable and relaxing.
After some very tiring weeks, we left for our honeymoon in search of new impressions and relaxation. We found it in this very nice and cozy place. Very friendly staff and wonderfull surroundings, just outside Marsala was the perfect place for us. We can very much recommend the DisioResort and look forward to our next visit.
Very nice hotel . Clean and organised. Staff are all helpfull despite not all know how to speak english they keep trying to understand tough a lady in reception speaks perfect english . Hotel manager carlo is a great person that also speaks good english . Anyway I speak sone italian so the others managed to communicate well with us. The only problem there is to find the hotel with gps as the road is unnamed but in my case also used google maps and find it quite fast. So I recommended that one print an area map of the hotel. Parking is available anytime and to reach rooms is spectacullar all with trees etc... Foodnia amazing and obviously wines are perfect... We highly recommend this hotel and when to be close to the area sure we stay in disio and hope things stay the same. Thank you and happy new year.
My first night, I checked in late, almost midnight. Meal service had ended for the day, but they offered to make something for me and send it to my room. Within 10 minutes they brought a plate of charcuterie, grilled vegetables, mixed seafood salad, a basket of bread, and a beer. It was wonderful service and it continued for the week. The room was comfortable, the food was good, and the grounds were lovely. But above all, I would go back for the service. The manager, Carlo Crocicchia, was an extraordinary host.
The Disio Resort is licated outside Marsala, but, as everywhere else we went in Sicily, there were signs giving the direction. We stayed there as almost the only guests, and had to go to Marsala for dinner. Breakfast was served in the reception. The staff was friendly and service minded, and the resort was comprehensive.
This was our second trip to Marsala over three years. We were traveling with another couple and looked forward to returning to Marsala in October 2013 since our 2010 stay at a winery was so pleasant. The Disio Resort has lovely grounds, a large swimming pool and a small golf facility. The rooms are a bit dark and could use some refresh but basically are nice. The breakfast was included in the room rate and was adequate. The women who handled our check in were delightful and eager to help us, but the promised follow up from other members of the staff was lackluster. Since the Disio is in the countryside, the restaurant became important to us. However, the restaurant had limited but adequate offerings. Although we do not fault the Disio, we booked Disio Resort through an online service well in advance and discovered when we arrived that our cost for our room was higher than the room rate listed. In hindsight,we should have checked availability and prices up to three days in advance of our arrival since there was no cancellation fee and rebooked at the lower cost.
Stayed one night in this hotel, what is actually a golf resort. We we , I believe the only guest that night. Drove there from Trapani airport. Hotel is is poorly indicated, so ended up in Marsala city, while hotel is in the fields outside the city. In the end found the hotel. Free parking space, reception very friendly, did not require a credit card on check-in. We were given our rooms, which are actually quite nice, nice bath room, large bed, nice furniture. Hotel has some golf courses, a putting green, a driving range, a large swimming pool with bar (not open that night), and a restaurant. Good breakfast buffet with lot of choice. And this for 45 euro per night, including breakfast! Restaurant opens at 20:00h. Waiter very friendly, though does not speak English very well. Food we has 3 course, the first two were fish and very good, the third one was meat, that plate was not bad but not so good as the fish.
