Had a great stay, very relaxing, everyone is very friendly. The pool is very nice. The room have everything you need in a motel room. Easy to get to the city or airport. Lots of parking. Quite place. Everything you need restaurant, pool, playground, tennis courts, place to relax. I would stay here again.
Had dinner there just recently. The menu was not as I would have imagined. Not a lot of choice. The food was nice and the pricing was quite reasonable. The restaurant was situated next to the resort pool which gave a calming effect for the night. The staff were great. Would recommend a visit.
Wow staying at Seagulls was a great find. It is a little oasis. Lovely private swimming pool, great rooms, FANTASTIC staff the whole experience was fabulous! Also right on the sea for gorgeous walks. Peaceful. When booking ask for a room upstairs to enjoy the view of the place.
Stayed here for only one day and night, but boy what a jewel this place is. Staff were just fantastic, went out of their way to accomodate our every need, Cant beleive we have missed staying here before, Room was lovely, beautiful pool and gardens. Had a wonderful dinner, best meal we have had in Townsville for some time. Breakfast was great too. Will be staying here again and recommending to friends also. Thank you Seagulls for making my birthday so special.
Have stayed here many times over the years due to closeness to airport, easy parking and tropical vibe. Not again. Gone downhill fast. Reception not open early evening when I arrived. Rooms are getting tired. Restaurant not good and also now not open some nights. Try elsewhere.
We recently stayed at Seagulls and although next time I would upgrade to a 2bedroom Apartment which my sister had this time, I would stay again. We booked what I think was a standard family room (2 adults and 2 kids), and although for the price it was roomy enough for us, on seeing the 2 bedroom apartment, I would recommend it for families as I only booked the "cheaper" room due to obviously the cost however the kids absolutely loved the bunk beds ! The bathroom looked as though it had been upgraded in recent years and the kitchen was good enough, nice and clean, for what we needed. Absolutely LOVED the pool and being it had an entire shallow pool for the kids and the fact it was like you were at a resort, not in the middle of Townsville :). We didn't get a chance to eat at the restaurant but have heard great reviews.
I really wished I had listened to friends about staying here. Was not worth the $. Upon arrival I couldn't pay because 'the office was down' went to the room thinking we couldn't work the air con & lights rang reception only to be told the power was out because it was undergoing fixtures. The situation was totally understandable, these things happen. It really annoyed me that when I checked in the reception knew about the situation but never informed us. It possibly was more frustrating with a screaming 3 month old who was ready for a bottle. The particular room we got had very minimal necessary items. In this day & age a room should be equipped with a microwave. I had to heat the baby's bottles by filling the bathroom sink with a cheap barely working kettle of hot water. The bed was super uncomfortable and the pillows were worn & horrible. The bunks squeaked with every movement. Wifi did not reach our room which was only located metres away from reception. If I had read the trip advisor reviews before staying, I would never of stayed. How very unprofessional of the General Manger reacting negatively to some reviews. The only positive of this place was the lovely restaurant attendant. This lady should be the face of business putting her in the reception would definitely bring a better first impression.
I feel a bit bad only rating Seagulls 3 out of 5 as I quite enjoyed the stay due to the time we spent one evening & the next day at the restaurant, bar & around the pool. The bar staff were super friendly & gave great service & the atmosphere was very tropical & relaxing. Unfortunately the shower was pretty average & the bed was one of the most uncomfortable I have slept in.
Had a wonderful breakfast at Seagulls on Sunday. Chrissy and the staff were fabulous, they could not have been more helpful, more friendly or more accommodating. Their service alone will have us go back. And the breakfast was great also. Very affordable, good food in a great tropical setting. Don't hold back if you're a local, go there and enjoy!
We held a family reunion(40 people) at the resort, the rooms were great, food fantastic, grounds wonderful & staff very helpful. Close to all the tourist attractions and an all round wonderful Resort - great for adults (bar beside pool) & kids (playground & pool) something for everyone. Highly recommend.
