A really warm welcome, the staff were brilliant. Breakfast was superb the rooms were very clean and comfortable. Very quiet at night so sleeping no problem and only a short walk to town. Would highly recommend to anybody and would definitely book again. Thanks for a lovely weekend.
My wife and I celebrated 50 years of marriage this year and our Children treated us to a weekend at the Meadfoot Bay. What a lovely little hotel, secluded yet within walking distance of the town. We were made very welcome and the atmosphere was really friendly. In a way breakfast was the highlight and the pancakes were superb. We will surely be back again. Alan and Ann, Fleet Hampshire
We travelled to Torquay on Tuesday 10th October and had planned to stay at the Haytor Hotel. Upon our arrival we were advised that the hotel was closed due to a bereavement, and had booked us in the Meadfoot Bay Hotel just up the road. We were a bit apprehensive at first as we had not heard of nor knew what the hotel was like. Upon our arrival, we were upgraded free of charge to the Superior Suite as we had just got married and we were not disappointed at all with the room, facilities and services. We are sorry for the bereavement at the original hotel, but I'm glad to have stayed at the Meadfoot Hotel as it is simply superb in every way and we are not disappointed in any way. I cannot recommend this hotel enough, beautiful rooms, lovely and friendly staff who go out of their way to help you and they put on a fantastic breakfast!!
On arrival we were greeted with a warm welcome and offered a complimentary drink from the bar. Our room the Delux Room 3 was everybit Delux as in the description, really comfortable excellent facilities. The breakfast was plenty of choice and the cooked breakfast was personalised to what we wanted. The Staff were great, helpful, pleasant and friendly. Would we go back a definitive yes.
Stayed Monday 2nd October to Friday 6th October. Relaxing stay room clean , good breakfast, staff friendly and helpful. 10 minute walk in to Torquay, 5 Minute walk to Meadfoot beech. Hotel on quiet road .
A total Gem.Loved our stay for two nights on 6th&7th October and so wish we had booked in for longer.Enjoyed our time in the bar and what a great breakfast. We would struggle to find anything bad to say apart from the awkward step by room 5 but I gather that will be put right during the planned overhaul.Very pleased we booked and will most certainly stay again when next in Torquay. Stayed here for a last minute trip to Torquay . The hotel is a 5 minute walk from the town centre and 2 minutes from meadfoot beach . On arrival we were offered complimentary drinks of tea, coffee, wine or beer which was a nice touch whilst completing registration .. Given a lovely room on first floor, large, well presented . Super large comfy bed and good sized, clean , bright en suite. A small sitting area with comfy chairs and large TV complimented the modern room. Breakfast was really good. A selection of cereals fruits and pastries and a superb full English with staff constantly filling your coffee or tea pot . The one down side was the early check out of 10am ! But if you don't enjoy a lazy Sunday morning then it's not an issue ? Would certainly stay again and would highly recommend if looking for high quality , reasonably priced 5* accommodation .
Great service from all the staff from the time we arrived until we left. The room was clean and comfy and the complimentary sherry was well received. Breakfast was good with plenty of choice, served promptly without any problems Location of hotel is good, nice and quite
We were let down by a large hotel in August, up stepped the Meadfoot Bay Hotel. Luxury is not the word. The hosts were so friendly they could not do enough for us and to boot the price was unbelievably reasonable. The rooms were very comfortable and well catered, the bathroom was huge clean and suitably stocked. Breakfast was not a disappointment, being a chief I was very impressed( and when I am paying that takes a lot I can tell you). Overall we will be returning . Very Well Done Meadfoot Hotel, that is how it should be done, Mr A Gregor Bristol.
Just got back from 2 nights at the Meadfoot Bay hotel, what lovely people the new owners are. Phil gave us a very warm welcome and we mentioned that we were there for my wife's birthday. We were unpacking in our room, when Vicky knocked on our door with 2 glasses of champagne and 2 slices of cake, to wish my wife a happy birthday. What a lovely gesture. Thank you Phil and Vicky for a lovely stay at the Meadfoot Bay Hotel . Look forward to returning there again soon.
