7:40pm: Arrived at hotel and was let in front door remotely with no clear direction where to check in. Proceeded to rear of building to be greeted by the hotel representative who guided me to an unattached building behind the hotel to run my credit card and provide me with a room key. 7:48pm The hotel representative escorted me to my room (22) which upon entry, realized the room had not been serviced by housekeeping staff. 7:50pm We return to the outbuilding office to select a different room. 7:58pm Hotel rep identifies a room (21) which is indicated as serviced by housekeeping. He asks me to wait in the office as he checks to confirm the readiness of the room. 8:01pm Hotel rep returns to inform me that room 21 is a suite and is not available at my rate. 8:09pm Hotel rep selects another room for me and we check its suitability together. The room is slightly larger however the room key he processed is not working. 8:13pm Hotel rep leaves me in the room committing to return in 5 mins with a functioning key. 8:20pm No key has been delivered to me and I decide that after over 30 mins of "check-in" experience, I have no confidence in staying at this hotel. I return to the office building and am informed that I must speak with the manager to discuss a refund on my credit card. 8:25pm Hotel manager does not acknowledge the deficiencies described above and adamantly refuses to credit the room charge on my credit card. The manager actually made the entire experience worse and is the motivation for this review. I annually have 200+ nights per year in hotels and this is by far the worst customer service and management I have ever experienced. I would discourage anyone from enduring the rudeness and unprofessional behaviour of the manager of this property, by avoiding the risk of staying at the Wellesley Manor Hotel (not a boutique at all)

Perfect boutique hotel. Staff were so spectacular, lugging suitcases up and down the stairs. Clean room and great location. There are many restaurants and bars close by but the hotel was very quiet. Pricing was very resonable. We would highly recommend this hotel

We stayed 3 nights there to attend a show in T.O. Rooms are small but clean. Beds are confortable. The hotel is well located near the Village and just in front of Wellesley station. Unfortunately, we had some issues. At arrival (around 10 pm), the gentleman who welcomed us was kind of expeditive. Take note that there is no reception at this hotel. You have to call a number anytime you need something. Personnel is not on hand. He gave us the keys, made us sign a kind of reservation paper, and brought us to our rooms. He quickly explained how it works and left in a hurry. For identity purposes, he took a photo of my driver's licence... on his phone. Talk about confidentiality. It's not reassuring. We didn't received a copy of what we signed. For a party of three, we reserved two rooms and they were those downstairs. In my room, the A/C wasn't working. We kept the very small window shut because of the noisy street. There was a very small fan but not enough to keep the room at right temperature. Good thing to note: on the next day, thanks to Brooke, we've been moved to another room upstairs, where A/C was working properly. A very confortable room. Thank you to Brooke. My friend stayed in the other room downstairs. First night was ok. Second night, he had trouble sleeping because the room next to his had some kind of kinky party going on. Room walls are thin. This spot has great potential. Unfortunately, for the lack of welcoming and services, I do not plan on going back.

The hotel is actually a converted house. We had a double room and the bedroom area was a bit tight. The bathroom was spacious and the decor was modern and nice. I was nervous about staying here because previous reviews had highlighted security concerns and the lack of staff. We had no issues with security. Our room was safe and we tested the locking system as soon as we got there. We only saw a member of staff when we checked in and the day we were checking out. The staff were nice and even stored our luggage for a little while when we checked out. The hotel is right opposite a subway stop and is noisy all the time - you can hear the subway, people moving around in the hotel and all the street noise. The blinds in the windows are also not great as they let a lot of light in.

The positives: nice linens, nice speaker, nice shower. The negatives: incredibly overpriced for a very small room, blinds did not adequately block light from next door, no staff on hand at any time, promised the ability to leave luggage but no one on site to leave luggage with the next day. Terribly disappointed with our stay.

We went to the Jay's game and it was easy to jump on the subway to get there. The room was very cute and actually spacious aside from what the reviews said. Check in is easy as long as you call and talk to someone. You can have a drink down on the patio and plug your phone in for some beats in your room! If I come back to Toronto I'm booking here... I'm a 30 year old couple with no kids. Book here!!! Awesome

We booked into the 'penthouse suite', which does have a very nice terrace, and is away from some of the noise problems others have mentioned. My rating should really have been a 4/5 but the price of the room offset this, meaning I've given it a 3/5. It was clean enough, and the staff was helpful when you could find them, but all felt a little bit amateur, unfortunately. Things like the sheets not being the right size for the mattress, meaning that it kept popping off constantly, things like having one tiny thing of shampoo and shower gel, meaning you needed to replenish constantly, things like not having a small refrigerator, kettle/tea facilities were not life-changing, but for the price charged, would be expected. Sure, the room was nice enough, but I've stayed at similarly priced hotels a similar distance from the centre in many cities around the world, and been much happier. Note that I'm talking about the price/value of the 'suite' and not on other rooms, which appear to be much more reasonably priced.

Walked into room after Jay's game last night and basically a double bed and a small path to washroom and at very edge of bed a table in super tight and that's all folks. Limited tv channels too so I assume super basic. Why is it so pricey then? Plus in crack of bottom of door to washroom is quite dirty and so easy to just clean like once in months. And very loud in the mornings and bright as no blackout curtains. The outside is quaint though...go figure.

Suitable for younger crowd as located next to a bar and the university. Super cool interior, great furnishing and ample space. Location is a bit of a trek to downtown attractions but there are some decent budget restaurants in the neighbourhood and also the subway / metro is across the road from the hotel.

I got a dark basement room, not great but the bathroom was nice. Would have been better if the hotel priovided soap.lock on the door would not lock; the other basement room offered to me had a broken air conditioner. The lock was eventually repaired, fortunately. I had a very early flight and the hotel supposedly arranged for a 5:00 am taxi: it did not show up.
