I chose this place mainly for the location since it was close to a meeting I needed to go. The subway station was just across the street from the place. There were a lot of restaurants nearby within walking distance; variety of cuisine including Thai, Mexican, starbucks, mcdonalds, bars. One thing that you should be aware of is that this is a "boutique hotel," not your regular hotel. There really is no front desk staff. I arrived later in the evening so I got an email saying I had to call the hotel number to get the code for the lockbox at the front door to get my room access card. This was unusual for me but everything went smoothly. They also don't serve breakfast but there's a lot of places you can grab one around the place. It's a very basic room. One thing I wish they had was a study table where I can read or work on the computer. Overall, I'd say this is a decent place to stay if you're not too picky. The place is clean and very well kept.
We enjoyed the Wellesley. Not spectacular, but a comfortable place to spend the night after exploring Toronto. Some might object to the noise from the Fox & Fiddle next door, but it didn't really bother us. We found the location to be ideal, but we don't mind walking a fair amount to get where we're going. Being right across from the subway might be a help to those who don't like to walk.
