Reasonable hotel, rooms are okay but definitely not at the upper range. Beach was not in the condition to really enjoy and dirty. Service was extremely slow. Extra bed was so old that you couldn't really sleep on it.
Nice hotel with very attentive staff. This is not a resort hotel. Lovely pool and dining area. The beach and sea is not great. We were half board and for Mauritius standards was good value .Dennis and Anastacia helped us with queries on many occasions and were wonderfully helpful. Public transport right outside hotel was very useful
This is a peaceful beachside resort with excellent staff. The accommodations are not at all extravagant, actually fairly basic. Nevertheless, the comfort of the surroundings is wonderful. The People of Mauritius are friendly and helpful. The facility is well kept. The Oceanside restaurant is close to the water but vegitation overhangs the room. Open to the air, you can enjoy the gentle breezes and a spectacular sunset. This is an excellent value. I hope to return.
Spent 3 days/ 2 nights there. It is a 2.5 to 3 star hotel. It is a small, down to earth hotel. Location is great for business people who are working in Port Louis but still want the beach experience. Rooms are average and tiny shower, but you can get good sleep and relax on balcony with good views. Nice swimming pool in the middle of the hotel. Staff and services are excellent. Good buffet menu for dinner and breakfast (you get what you pay for, so don't expect 5 star). On Saturday night, there is a DJ with music till 11pm. For the beach, it is full of corals due the geography of the area, so don't expect chilling in the water, however for snorkelling, this is a great place. There are some additional sea activities from the boat house. My only issue was the limited parking, which is directly on the busy main road. Since I could not get a parking, I had to park my expensive car on the main road and I was always stressed it might get damaged. As long as the hotel maintains this price range, I will go again.
The hotel has a really nice view as the palms trees add up to a beach atmosphere inside the hotel. Overall it has a tropical look . The room's size is average and the bathroom area is tiny . The activists are amazing amd the beach boy is really good at his work and give u all the help you need for the activities. The foods at the restaurant are below average and resulting being too expensive .
Although a little bit off the beaten track this really is a gem of a place. Beautiful sea views, a great swimming pool, wonderful food and very peaceful. You can get a local bus from right outside the hotel arounf 25 rupees in to Port Louis. Obviously not the 5 star experience of some resorts but at less that 100 euros per night for 1/2 board this place is outstanding. They do a breakfast buffet and a choice of two al la carte dinner options ( 3 courses) I'm veggie and they made me special dishes where necessary - really good food in a stunning restaurant overlooking the sea. Drinks as little pricey, but cheaper than the other (more expensive) Mauritian resorts I've stayed in. There is a little shop across the road and you have fridge in your room to keep your beer/wine/water cool. You can then sit on your balcony with a cold beer knowing you are not getting ripped off. Seriously, if you are on a budget this place ticks all the boxes. Basic rooms but at the price no complaints. Ignore the negative reviews on trip advisor - some people expect 5 star facilities for a 2 star price!
Room was smaller than most and bathroom tiny. When showering floor was soaked each time - even though there was a door. Toilet leaked but was sorted out. Staff were friendly and pleasant. Pool rules however were very restrictive. Only able to swim between 8.00am and 7.00pm. It was only when my husband wanted to speak to the owner was an exception made. The evening are very warm, so no being able to swim was illogical. The Beach wasn't accessible as they'd recently had a storm and coral was everywhere. The food was tasty and a good variety for dinner. Wifi in rooms was very bad and irregular.
We stopped at Les Cocotiers for 3 weeks approximately 28/3/17 to 15/04/17 (Room 101 and 104). The environment is clean and relaxing. All the staff are superb, friendly, accommodating and helpful. The manager is proud, friendly, always has a smile, sees the guests and courteous. Information about tours, taxi and tourist attractions are available from the reception staff and the manager. We complained about our neighbours-upstairs and aside who were very loud for two nights-shouting, moving furniture in the middle of the night and early hours in the morning. The receptionist staff spoke with their manager- their solution was move rooms which we declined. We asked them to speak with the neighbours and to be respectful to other guests in the block. We were pleased as we heard no further noise. The security guards are exceptional as are the domestic staff. The beauty treatment pricing list I felt personally was expensive, I did treat myself to a facial and Marie Bazile was equally brilliant. Food- we were on bed and breakfast. It is the same everyday (omelette, pancakes, croissant, cereals, bread) - we opted for different choices every day. I was most disappointed when I realised the hotel have stopped making their own banana and pineapple jams, but I lived. Coffee was nice still the Mauritian tea was nicer. The waiters knew my choice, they were attentive and always brought me my tea which is a very nice and personal touch. We have used the bar and ate dinner a couple of times at the restaurant. Food was tasty. Depending on demands the options are buffet or à la carte menu. You pay for your drinks as you would in any other restaurant. The bar prices for drinks coke/wine/rum/juice were what we felt considerably expensive. I guess you pay for sipping a drink watching the sea, listening to either nice music or nature. The bedroom is cleaned everyday from very polite domestic. Priska Juliet (domestic) was amazing, helpful and polite. Thank you very much Priska for your help and attention. The amenities in the bedroom- well this can be improved, exposed wires, the lighting in the bedroom are rubbish and no chair to sit to do your make up or hair. Our bedroom decor/furniture were outdated and somewhat unpresentable. When we arrived our bedside lamp was not working. The other bedroom lock was loose and had to be fixed then. The air conditioner poorly maintained and was full of dust. One would expect before checking guests, the hotel management would ensure a pre-check in checks are carried out, clearly this was not the case. It was annoying to wait for these things to be fixed when we have just arrived after a long journey. We wish for the bedrooms to have been of a better standard! That's for us are on the negative side. On checking out, we spoke with the manager Denis Bissessur, he informed us of the forward planning and the bedrooms are due for renovations. The outdoor terrace we had two chairs, nice tranquil space to enjoy the fabulously maintained garden and you can enjoy the birds tweeting, truly serene. For us this holiday was good, a stop over that was close to our family. It is around 10-15minutes to Port-Louis by bus. We have not used public transport as we had a hire car. Grand-Bay and Perebere is about 30minutes-45minutes by car. Jumbo-supermarket is about 10minutes by car. The beach is sandy and well maintained as for the pool and it's amenities. The sea is corals- excellent views of ships heading to the harbour and fishermen at work. There are loungers on the beach and are accessible. Different water sports facilities are provided by the hotel. The sea is not swim-able due to the corals. The entertainment at night was good as well. Wifi- access to wifi in reception area is good however in bedroom or at the bar area is a hit and miss affair. This did not bother us as the reception seating area is nice, airy and lovely. What makes a difference is of course the people-the staff and I mean each one of them. The level of care and attention from the staff, we cannot fault them at all. We wish for the owner of the hotel to improve the standards of the bedrooms. From the Lewis family-a big thank you for accommodating us throughout our stay. A big shout out to all the staff who has accommodated us. Thank you for making our stay comfortable and enjoyable. We shall return soon.
The hotel was clean, room is spacious. However bad wifi connection, the location isn't hard to find. Would suggest you rent a car cause the location is quite in a remote. The staff was helpful and courteous, would come here again.
The fact we just returned from our 20th trip to Mauritius should tell you we enjoy it there. We have been visiting Les Cocotiers (as it was known then) since 2006 or there abouts and in that time we have had nothing but good service from the staff and top office. The resort has 48 double rooms which are airconditioned also have very clean facilities that include a nice shower , hair dryer for the girls (or boys) television with about 20 channels very few in English though.....all of this is located very near the pool bar ,beach , dining room.....Also the resort is located about 8 kilometers from Port Louis...We do believe Cocotiers is one of the first resorts on the island therefore it is not the top of the tree so to speak...and I suppose that is why we love it....friendly...:)
