We ended up staying here our two final nights in Japan. Room was spacious and very clean. Service was great. It is a little more expenses then other hotels we stayed in but well worth it. Comfy beds, pillows, black out windows, amazing showers, bathroom, etc. Really liked the locations. Market is down street, Ueno station, etc. Would definitely stay here again. Skyliner is close to hotel too. Easy access to Narita airport.
If you're looking for a midrange hotel that's quiet yet walking distance from Ueno station, Ueno park, and Ameyoko market, this hotel checks all of the boxes! As an added bonus, the Keisei Skyliner airport express train from Narita stops right at Ueno station. Also, we discovered there's an elevator on the station's Showadori Ave exit side, minutes from the hotel that leads directly to Ueno station (handy if you have luggage). The staff speak English, the rooms are small compared with North America but spotlessly clean and comfortable. We didn't try the onsite restaurant as the market has tons of food choices close by. Note: the hotel is already booked up for the Olympics...
Pros: The hotel itself is very new and clean, all the staff was very friendly & helpful. Hotel is about 3-5 minutes from Ueno Station and Ameya-Yokochō Shopping Street. The room is spacious compare to other hotel in Japan ( were in the corner room) Cons : mattress was hard & the pillow was very soft, very uncomfortable. Maybe the hotel can add different types of pillows to give the guest a different choice. TV selection is also very limited. .
One of four places we stayed on our trip. Recently opened and the staff appear to be finding their feet. A pleasant reception on arrival slightly marred by being asked to pay up front for the entire stay before checking in. Rooms were good size for Japan. Lovely terrace and lobby. A little draconian on the breakfast dining hours, as I said it is recently opened and they need to tweak a few things. Centrally located in Ueno near the station which is handy. We ate out locally every night . It was pricey compared to our other hotels but it was a pleasant stay.
Great hotel, only 5 minutes walk from Ueno station. Very clean and modern hotel in a quiet back street of Ueno. Stayed with my husband and five month old baby and they provided a cot free of charge and we were also upgraded to a deluxe room which was large for Tokyo standards. Short walk to Ameyoko food and shopping street with 100’s of places to eat and drink, such a fun area to stay in. 7/11 is 25 meters from hotel. Minor issue with room cleaning but was quickly rectified and we were provided with a complimentary takeaway breakfast. Would definitely stay in this hotel again.
If you’re used to staying in APA or similar in Tokyo, Nohga is a major upgrade. I just checked in a few hours ago, and I’m really impressed with the interior design - calming natural tones, minimalist, and ambient. Attention to detail at every level - from the way each door closes to the way light bulbs are positioned. The staff are also excellent, as is the location - a short walk from Ueno station. Highly, highly recommended.
This hotel is located quite close to metro and train station. If you find the right exit, you can find the escalator and lift while carrying your luggage between the train station and the hotel. There are lots of restaurants in the area you don't have to worry when you want to get something to eat or drink. Surcharge for earlier check-in is applied even when you arrive the hotel just two hours before the official check-in time. (This means the still charge even when the room is ready which is different from some larger hotels.)
Room was clean and spacious (we were in a deluxe room) and had everything we could ask for. Functional and enough for two with large luggages. It rain most days we were here and the staff was very friendly and offered us umbrellas to take with us into the city. Good location, near the skyliner to narita and key metro lines for both metro and JR. will definitely recommend.
The hotel is newish service is great room attention could be better. The bed was nice. The shower was best had high power hand held and the overhead total immersion head. Area was a little lonely at night but lots combi like 7-11 or family mart. We didn’t have a bath in our room and thought it was a little expensive.
I always end a trip by staying in Ueno. A combination of the park, museums, street food, last minute shopping etc. but also as you can catch the Keisei Skyliner back to the airport with little effort. So have stayed in many of the hotels in the area. Thought I would try this new one out and it was great. Lovely staff, nice rooms and excellent location without the noise of all the action but just minutes away from the epicenter.
