Greta place to stay. Really nice bars and eateries just steps away from the hotel. Family Mart and its kinds of shops also steps away. Train station a few minutes walk. Rooms don't feel so small. Staff is friendly and smiling all the time. Will stay again
Chose the Hotel for its excellent central location. Has minimum required facilities. Has an excellent Pizzeria on the ground floor which is really good. The Pizzeria is small and serves drinks and buffet lunch also. Rooms are Japanese style, small in size but functional. Its central location and proximity to Railway station makes it most suitable for Tourists. The back street has all kinds of cuisines at very cheap prices. Some magnificent places are nearby, An old Palace, Gardens of Hotel New Otani etc. For the tariff it charges the Hotel is OK.
After reading the reviews I'm gobsmacked. The room was comfortable and clean but after staying in numerous hotels in Japan, that always pay attention to detail, this hotel falls short. Here's a couple things to consider. The room amenity of a Green Tea Kit (see web site) that is supposed be in the room was never there. I had to call the desk and request Tea. Assuming the next day it would appear in the room, after mentioning it, it didn't. The Hair Dryer had no heat. Internet is blocked, if you want to FaceTime, or call using an app like Viber it won't work. There weren't glass cups. No Ice bucket. In short .... spend your yen wisely .... choose another.
We stay in Mitsui Garden Hotel last weekend and I must say for its one of the few hotels in Tokyo that offer twin rooms. The breakfast buffet is decent and bar is well stocked. The staff are extremely courteous. The only complaint I have was that, we arrived early at the hotel and asked to be checked in at 12 instead of 3 and the staff was not even one bit flexible, having stayed in various star hotels across the world I found that shocking. It was the same when I asked for just one hour extension for check out, they said I have to pay 1000 yen for the hour which we thought was ridiculous. The staff needs to be accomodative of visitors requests. Rooms were very clean and the amenities excellent. Lots of bars and restaurants all around the hotel within walking distance. Several 24 hr convenient stores too.
Very functional hotel and extremely close to Yotsuya station which makes it very convenient to travel anywhere in Tokyo. Good rooms, although small, but being in the right location makes up for it. Great breakfast. Value for money.
Though it's a rather centrally located business hotel, it still has everything required in order to get a comfy stay. The room is small but cozy, very clean, nicely equipped with air purifier and some beauty gadgets for the ladies to play with. Very friendly staff. Short walking distance to the Yotsuya station. Many convenience stores nearby. Be sure to get a high-floor room so you can have a very nice city view of the area. I wouldn't say it's a stylish hotel, so if you are looking for something more special with unique decor, keep looking. Also it was a bit pricy during the time we stayed there.
Considering how positive the reviews were, we expected great things. Overall, the experience was mediocre to poor. The first room we were given was very small, it felt like a dark prison cell and it was terribly moldy and dusty. There was no issue when we complained and we were relocated. Although room size didn't increase in the room we were relocated to, we had an outlook to the street so we didn't feel as boxed in and had great natural light. The bathrooms in both rooms were miniature and the ceiling very low, it felt like being in a cabin on a ship. Compounding the small room, there are no common/communal spaces so it doesn't feel like there is anywhere to relax or have some downtime from the hustle and bustle. Having stayed before in Tokyo, for around the same price, you can do better. If you stay here, I recommend you get a room up on a higher level, and facing the street and getting a twin room. The staff were pretty average - not super friendly or helpful. The level of English speaking was ok. The restaurant in the hotel is super, esp if you need something quick. Overall, I wouldn't be recommending staying here as a tourist. Yotsuya isn't a great location for tourists, yes the hotel is right near the stations, but it's got no vibe or atmosphere and virtually no shopping or restaurants.
I'm currently staying here for 5 nights and am very happy we booked this hotel. Situated about 3 min walk from Yotsuya train station it makes getting around Tokyo so easy! Room is a little small as is the bathroom but I don't have any complaints as it seems that's the norm in Tokyo. Staff are helpful despite us knowing no Japanese and made us feel very welcome.
I stayed in Mitsui Garden Yotsuya a couple of times between 2005-2010. This time, I stayed here for two nights which was as pleasant as my previous stays. In all, convenient location, good room size and quality service at reasonable price. Location: Around 3-5 mins walk from Yotsuya JR and metro station. It takes less than 10 mins by JR or metro to Shinjuku. Can also reach Tokyo station through Chuo line express train. I basically visited most places downtown with a metro day pass. There are some eateries like Paul Bakery, Soup Stock Tokyo, Starbucks and small supermarket at the JR station exit and a few more along the street to the hotel. Convenience store is just located across the street from the hotel. Room: i booked the comfort room as before which is slightly larger (around 17.5 sq. m). I love the wooden floor at the entrance and washroom area of the room. There is no bathtub for comfort room. The wash basin, shower room, toilet are separate, which makes it more convenient if you have two persons staying together. The interior still looks pretty decent given its age. They provide free bottled water every day too! The major issue is which the centralized air con system (just like many other japanese hotels) which temperature was fixed at 26 (or 28) degree celsius. I had to have the windows opened to get some cool air. Services: Staff at reception can communicate in average english. quick check-in and check-out. They also helped keep my luggage for 3 days before check in. Breakfast is served in the italian restaurant at the ground level. I did not have the chance to try it though. However, the italian restaurant looks quite popular among the locals.
The hotel is situated next to the business and governmental business district of Tokyo. Reception staff is friendly and helpful, while sometimes has some challenges with the English language. The rooms are Tokyo like smaller then used but equipped with really everything you need. Comfy bed and pillow, fast wifi and cat5 LAN access, air purifier etc... So really alright for a good stay. Breakfast in the attached Italian restaurant is great from a Japanese food perspective, for Europeans a litttle bit simple and boring.
