Hotel Restaurant Baron3.0 out of 5.0

We just needed a place to stay for the night, and didn't want/need a place downtown. It was hard to get to due to road work in the city, but that isn't the hotel's fault. Staff was warm and friendly, the room was very comfortable. The hotel's restaurant had good, simple food. We enjoyed our stay here.
This hotel is outside of the hustle-and-bustle of downtown Tirana. If you have your own transportation and you like a bit of a neighborhood feel, then this is definitely a gem. The owners are super nice. They love children so our grandson was treated like a prince. They brought out the family riding toys and toy balls for him to be entertained. They made sure that his breakfast was prepared quickly. Because they also own their own farm, the meats, eggs, goat cheese, and vegetables were farm fresh. Their goat milk mozzarella is the silkiest mozzarella we've ever had. The owners were proud to say that they have been awarded top prizes for that particular cheese. When we checked-in, they made sure to let us know that they had a better room available for the family of three. The Albanian set dinner menu was abundant and delicious. One thing that may be off putting to some travelers is that the restaurant is also used as a butchery for the farm goats. We found it interesting except for the bleating of the goats when they were restrained to be weighed before slaughter. This is not a daily ritual, so you may not be "fortunate." During the second evening, we returned to the hotel a little late for our grandson to be of good cheer, so the staff offered to bring his risotto to the room. That was very considerate for everyone. The twin bed room is a little snug if you happen to like spacious rooms and large bathroom. There is a shower, but no bathtub. A gas station is conveniently located on the street in front of the hotel, and does not impede the look of the hotel because the hotel is screened by a wall and foliage and the off-street parking. Down the street there are great stalls/small stores featuring fresh fruits and vegetables. You can get anything you might need. The website photos of the hotel are accurate.
I am completely satisfied here. The stuff on reception and especially in the restaurant is just great, nice and professional. Food was huge and yummy. Good location outside the busy centre. Comfort simple room. Very good for that money. Many thanks
Very nice Hotel. Big rooms. Nice host who speaks fluently german, he explainend us a lot. Good service and good breakfast. With the bus its 10 minutes to the center of the city. Bus Stop directly at hotel
It was tucked away in its own private little cove where it was surprisingly quiet and charming. I was pleasantly surprised, considering the street views along the way to get there. The staff were all friendly and accommodating. I opted to upgrade to a larger room with a balcony and bathtub vs shower, they willingly obliged and put me into a much larger one, with a huge bathroom, and an oversize bathtub that could fit 2 people more than comfortably...and I used it daily. The only complaints I have were all of the outlets in the room and bathroom were so loose that nothing could stay plugged in (making it a challenge to get ready every morning), and that the entire hotel was uncomfortably cold, and the bathroom was even more so, and they kept all lights off during the day. Not only did I have to be fully dressed at all times just to stay somewhat warm, but I didn't dare walk around without something to keep my feet from freezing. Even though the dining room was beautifully decorated for the Christmas season. I didn't dine in it once... it was just too cold, and the lack of lighting didn't help. But, when I saw a space heater near one of the tables, I gave it a try to enjoy a nice cappuccino...but honestly, it was really just to get warm by something that put out actual heat. I'm not kidding, it was just too cold and could have really used some lighting to help brighten it up and give the charming place some more "warmth" to its soul. Overall, I stayed at The Baron for 1 full week and the price couldn't be beat for everything it had to offer in room and bathroom size and basic amenities, charm, cleanliness, staff friendliness and the dining menu (whether brought to your room or enjoyed in the dining room). I would recommend this place if you're looking for pretty decent bang for your buck, but definitely bring plenty of clothing to keep you warm!
The hotel is run by the manager, his wife, his mother and a lot of really nice employees. The rooms maybe need some renovations (especially in the bathrooms), but were clean and huge. The restaurant is a good way to have your dinner for an reasonable price. Unfortunately most of the typical Albanian food has to be ordered on day in advance. The manager Florian Kuka was always ready for a chat and he can speak Englisch and German on a high level, almost native! :-)
This was a very good place to be its clean, staff very helpful and very good service i need my backpack to be kept for a few days and they did it with love and no charge I spent 2 nights there all together, always nice and clean. its about 20-25 min from city centre for some it would be a disadvantage but for me it was great to live in the "real" part of tirana to see something a bit else and different. If you are planning to go out at night be aware you will probably have to take a taxi back . If you are an early bed dreamer, this location and price are perfect.
Whilst i was staying there i was not the only one who had problems other guest were arguing with them. First of they ruined alot of my clothes. If you make the mistake of putting yourself in the situation that i did and go to this hotel DO NOT use their laundry service. I bought this brand new pair of shorts and they got ripped, also two of my jumpers had rips in them it was like a cat had gone in and started ripping them. They were like "oh well" after i showed them. They will try anything to get money out of you. I paid for something and they said we can only give you your change back in water i booked 29th to 2nd realised i made a mistake and moved it 30th to the 3rd. I got a conformation that it was done. On the 2nd the lady saidchecking out? I was like no? and showed her the booking. She said no you have to pay another night. I told her i dont have to pay for something i payed for. I managed to win that argument. when i checked in on the 30th i showed the guy my changed check in date when i got in just to make sure he knew. He saw it had been changed. it was 5am. I said can i check in now and he said yes. I thought i would have to wait till 12 but he said i could go in now so i did. So then the lady said i had to pay for that. there might have been a communication barrier but he said i could go in then so i did. It is not my fault if he told me i could go in for the 30th then for free. Anyone who would go to a hotel and would be told you could go in your room now would. It was not my fault i shouldn't have to pay for something i was told was free. i can't help it if he told me that. People who are told they can do something for free by a representative of a company shouldn't have to pay for it because it wasn't agreed it would come with a price. She wasn't interested in the facts.
Well , 20minutes away from the center but very frequent public bus for very minimal fee 1/3 USD. Very clean towels , bed sheets , nice viewed large balcony , happily serving staff. To be honest staying here is much better than staying at a center hotel
Very welcoming and friendly family hotel. good food. Nice room. And also very noisy neighbourhoud. What you can do about it, is good contact with the neighbours to tell them to stop with the music. after 22.00 hours.
