Rooms are disgusting!! Mold, glass on floors, no screens in windows, beer bottles everywhere. Not safe AT ALL! Manager on duty was rude, snotty etc. Was put there because of house flood, would have rather stayed home then there!!
I end up leaving as soon i open the room door. It was dirty and smelled like smoke. they had buckets on the floor because the roof was leaking and the floor was filthy. I was soooo desappointed in this hotel, i remembered it was a nice hotel years ago but obviously it changed a lot. Everything looked old and dirty.
Don't even know where to start. 70's furniture, lighting, bedding (comforter even came with a cigarette burn). The entire hotel smelled like drugs and cigarettes (all on non-smoking floors/rooms). If you stood in our bathroom you could smell smoke or pot at any given time of the day. We actually asked to move the last night because the drug smell was making me nauseous. And I'm pretty sure it wasn't just pot that time. I have never stayed in a more disgusting hotel. The worst part was we were forced to stay there because of a hockey tournament. We had no control over the accommodations and were told we would be fined if we moved hotels. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to a rat, let alone a living human being! The only saving grace was the hotel staff. They were all very friendly and nice. We also paid $110 CAD per night, but the on-line ost was $89 per night. I wouldn't pay $20 for this hotel. Work out room is also terrible. Pretty sure the machines are from the 70's too. I also got very sick upon returning home. I called it the Airlane flu.
Rooms are a little dated, but the staff is excellent, and recently when a flight to work was cancelled, and we returned to the hotel to see if we could retain our room, or would have to pay for another, because we would have needed the room for half a day only, ( we would be leaving the hotel by 1 in the afternoon ) they gave us a room for only half price, and room was ready right away. Very good of them!!. It's not the best place in the whole world to stay, but it is where I stay always, when I return to work, they are very nice and food is pretty good too.
The first room we were given the bathroom fan did not work. The second room things were working. We asked for extra pillows and were given 3 well used ones. The bed was extremely soft and it sank in the middle. The décor reminded us of a road side motel. There is no value in the room that warranted the room rate you are paying. The shower head sprayed all over the bathroom. Housekeeping banged on the door before check out time.
We are staying here for a hockey tournament weekend. And this place is disgusting. Retro everything. Wall paper falling off the walls, old furniture, Smoke smell everywhere. They don't clean anywhere. My wife asked for towels for the pool and they gave her a hard time about it. Almost never gave them to her. The front desk is where they store the towels!! Cleaning staff never came today to clean up. I can go on forever about how disappointing this hotel is but I won't waste your time BUT don't waste your money.
Rooms are very dated and tired - lack of hot water, internet kept failing. Staff are pleasant but the place needs a serious upgrade. I asked for a blanket and the quality was unimpressive - Spend some money on this place!
The most discussing hotel I've stayed in. Ripped curtains filthy environment, bedding full of holes. Be careful they charged me with a safe in the room of which I neither asked for nor new the combination. 😣
Decided to come here based on the rate on our drive around Lake Superior. It was sketchy as soon as I walked in to check in. The person that checked me in expected me to know where our room was and everything else about the property even though it is our first time here. She put us on the 2nd floor, which would normally be fine except there's no elevator. I am very pregnant, and stairs are a problem at this point, but I was left with no other choice (it is a good thing neither of us are disabled). We got the "suite" and it is a great suite if you want something straight out of the 80's. There is also a sound every 21 seconds (yes, we timed it) that sounds like a tuba blowing as loud as it can, followed by the sound of a cat meowing every 6 seconds. We have asked twice to the front desk about it, but no one seems to think it's a big deal. They can hear it, but they don't really care and are trying to blame it on the fog horn in the harbor. We have investigated and it is coming from a mechanical room down the hall. It is so loud that it shakes the floor and walls. It is also very smokey smelling in the halls/common areas and the room must have recently been smoked in even though it is a non-smoking room. This is a park and fly hotel. And it is in DESPERATE need of upgrades. The only pros I have found are that it has ample parking and is a big room. The noises will literally make a person go insane. Every 15 seconds...the entire time we have been here. Needless to say, we will be packing up and getting out as quickly as we can once daybreak hits. And I will be speaking to the manager before we leave. I am glad we only have one night here, but that is one night too many. This also appears to be a truck stop and contractor extended stay hotel. I haven't seen a single business person or "tourist" since we checked in, coming or going.
We stayed twice in 4 weeks hoping the first visit was just a bad day. On our first stay we changed rooms soon after arriving, the room we were given smelled terrible and the bathroom floor was very wet behind the toilet. We were moved to another room. On our second stay we had to change rooms again shortly after arriving. There was a bathing suit from a previous guest hanging in the washroom, oreo cookies on the floor and an empty container under the bed. After changing rooms I woke up during the night to hear my partner cursing because there was NO toilet paper in the bathroom. He showered next and the shampoo dispenser was empty. Our coffee supplies had not been filled (1 cup only). I requested that the manager call me the day after check out so I could discuss the rooms. It's been 5 days and I have not recieved a call from anyone. We choose this spot because of a preferred rate but we won't be returning.
