Really excellent stay, beautiful hotel, ideally situated, nice and helpful staff. The room Was really good, clean, big and confortable. The design of the lobby is chic. The breakfast was excellent. We will come back!
Having read the Trip Advisor reviews the ParkHotel lived up to all our expectations. The ParkHotel is well place in Den Haag, with the major tourist attractions and shops within walking distance. Public transport is nearby with services to Delft, Scheveningen, Central Station, etc. We arrived before 3 pm, but as our room was ready the friendly reception staff expedited our check in and we were able to spend a few extra hours exploring Den Haag by tram. The provision of city guides and information was very helpful. Our spacious room overlooked the park and had the usual facilities expected of a hotel of this standard. Perhaps the only minor niggle was that although a in-room refrigerated was provided there were no complimentary refreshments. The in-room coffee machine was broken, but was quickly replaced, once we reported the defect to Reception. The bathroom is of a good standard, although the height of the bath and the permanent shower screen made entry into the shower difficult for elderly guests, such as myself. Breakfast is served in the magnificent setting of the Garden Room. The hot and cold breakfast selection will satisfy must guests. If you prefer your fried eggs freshly, wait till after 09.30, when hot food is cooked to order. Again, a small comment was the amount of chipped crockery available for use by guests at breakfast. I am not sure if this is a British thing, because such crockery would not be tolerated in the UK. The ParkHotel has an adequate restaurant, with a limited menu. The food is well cooked, and the service friendly. If you are staying several nights, there is a broad selection of alternative restaurants within walking distance. All in all, we had a very pleasant stay at the ParkHotel, Den Haag. I do not feel that the few niggles we experience during a stay necessitated marking our rating of The ParkHotel down from 5 stars to 4 stars. High recommend.
We came over for a friends weekend party/celebration. I was ill on arrival and missed out on most of that, but the hotel couldn't have been more helpful. On my return from the hospital (NHS take a look there!) Friday, the reception arranged some food to be brought to the room. My wife was able to arrange a tray for breakfasts which she brought to the room. I had room service Saturday evening which was good, although a request for some listed food wasn't an issue. My only disappointment was that I wasn't well enough until Monday (when we left) to fully enjoy the hotel. We found all the staff courteous and helpful. Breakfast is fine. The rooms were very clean and all in all I will definitely stay again if to be in a good central location. We stayed here about 9 or so years ago. I remember it being nice, but finding it better than one remembers is a bonus!
I booked the "budget room" (10m2) and only was going to be at the hotel to sleep for 2 nights on a quick trip from Austria to meet up with traveling family. If I return to Den Haag, I will definitely stay here again although I might treat myself to a larger room. The location was excellent. Breakfast was very tasty and also the latenight Takeaway "Istanbul" next door makes an absolutely delicious Falafelsandwich, which was a nice surprise when I got hungry quite late on my first night at the Parkhotel Den Haag. For my needs, the small budget room was perfect. I only brought my Rucksack so storage was no problem. A guest with a very large suitcase might find it a bit cramped. It was a cosy, comfortable room to retire to at night and the bed was extremely comfortable though I am 155cm tall. On the first night, I had one of the best sleeps of my life. My only complaint was handled by the management as best as they could (which is another reason why I will definitely return): To my surprise, on the Saturday night, part of the hotel's groundfloor had been rented out for a private event and there was a DJ playing music at a loud enough volume that I could hear it quite well in my 2nd-floor room. This was not great since I had to wake up at 6 the next morning to go to the airport. I expressed my complaints to the manager at the reception/bar area and he apologised and explained that it was a rare occurrence -- after all, the Parkhotel certainly does not seem like a place that regularly turns into a discotheque! The manager let me know that there was a noise curfew -- which was respected. He also offered me a drink, which I do appreciate, but I had to pass up the offer since it was nearly midnight and I wanted to try to sleep. I was quite annoyed and I could have been a bit more gracious, so I do want to really send special thanks to and commend the manager at Den Haag for being so gracious and professional despite having a cranky guest who had come out of bed to complain! My only suggestion, which I did mention, was that if the hotel has an event like that in the future, it would be very considerate to let guests know about such (rare) events ahead of time. I would have been less annoyed and I also could have gone out and purchased earplugs. Despite the unpleasant final night, I still eventually did get to sleep and slept well. I will definitely come back if i am in Den Haag and thank you again to the courteous and professional employees.
I stayed for 3 nights in this hotel and realized it had been about 9 years or so I has stayed there last. I was given a modernized and spacious room, which was much better than the one I remembered from before. The breakfast was good, and the lobby area had changed as well and look more spacious now. Best asset is still its location within walking distance to many of the nicer places in The Hague. Hotel with character, not like most of the chain-hotels that look alike where ever you go. Recommended!
Vintage building, great, central location. Rooms facing the interior court are quiet. Partly renovated. Friendly reception staff with great sense of humor. Expensive breakfast, but plenty of options around.
To make the story short: The hotel is ok, aswell as the rooms, it does feel quite warm, but you have a vent to "cool" it a bit down. The bathroom really needs an upgrade it's so dated.. old stains from water leakage and the top of the toilet where you need to pull the lever for a flush falls off if you're not careful. Also not a big fan of the breakfast buffet. Not a big selection of choices, quality of the dishes was not impressing me a bit. The staff that I've spoken to were really friendly gaved me extra information about the hotel, even when I've not asked about it. Overall impression is ok, the rooms and some parts of the hotel are very dated and need a renovation. Plus I think it's a bit overpriced for what they're giving the customer in terms of quality of the rooms.
We started two nights. The first, we had to ask to change room because there was a very u pleasant smell (like a sewer - toilet). We were able to make a switch though so that was great. The staff wasn't very friendly - not customer orientated. The breakfast was okay, no complaints with that. It's a 5-8 minute walk to the tram stop.
A really lovely , well presented, very clean , hotel situated within this truly lovey city. I fully recommend staying here, staff so helpful and room second to none. Many little quirky bars and eating places very near by
Spent five nights in the hotel whilst in The Hague on business. Hotel ticked all the boxes. Staff are helpful and friendly. Breakfast is adequate and rooms are a decent size by Dutch standards and well equipped. Only wish is that they add a gym. Would recommend
