This hotel is dirty. The rooms are grim and dark. Mine looked through the steel stairs of an emergency stair case over garbage bins into a parking lot. The room had a big bed which blocked access to the desk and closet. The room was dirty.
Clean place, spacious room. Reception is also a bar and receptionist has obviously even other duties, so it's sometimes hard to hunt somebody down. However, we were not in a lot of hurry and all receptionists have been very nice and helpful. Cosy bar and breakfast places. Breakfast is not lavish, but various enough for a pleasant start of a day. I would definitely return again. Several tram and bus lines nearby.
Really enjoyed my stay at the Hampshire in The Hague. Staff were friendly and helpful. Great breakfast and close to some exciting sights in the city like the Binnenhof, Panorama Mesdag and the Centraal Station where you can catch a train to anywhere. Would definitely come back.
Great location, friendly staff welcomed us on the arrival. Room was clean, large bed, nice spotless bathroom. We didn't use a restaurant facilities, so can't comment on this. Will definitely stay again. Thank you.
The Hampshire is an absolute gem. On two convenient tram lines and just a few stops from anywhere, our stay at the Hampshire was a delight. Located a walking distance from a Prinze Heinrich Plein, we had access to a supermarket & several outstanding local eateries. Two standouts were Amici is, as the name suggests, Italian, and genuine at that. Savanah is a local drinking hole with a Thursday night jazz jam session not to be missed. Staying at the Hampshire added value to our week in Den Haag. The hotel breakfast will keep you going all day and the staff make you feel you're staying in a family hotel.
The staff is great, the location is good (near the peace palace, a 10 minute walk to central The Hague and close to public transportation) as is the breakfast. But for a 4 star hotel there simply shouldn't be such maintenance issues and things should be sparkling.
Room is OK, but beds are too narrow and uncomfortable, so sleeping was not well form me. For one night it is OK, but if you have to stay more, then I would recommend some other place due to only bed as a reason.
I made a reservation explaining to he hotel that I wanted to pay with a gift card. They answer that I should proceed in a different way to use this method of payment. I spoke to them to find a solution and the only alternative that they offer to me was to cancel the reservation and pay the full price of the room.
I stayed 3 nights. The maid did not wash the dirty cups I used. She emptied the garbage bag, leaving the lid on the floor, without putting any bag inside. The tissue box left empty. That's pity because I have not been to this hotel for a long time, and at the end I am quite disappointed with the service.
The hotel is currently undergoing renovation and this is very visible (e.g. plastic on the hallway carpets, wooden panels to block off closed openings, ...). Based on the impression I got from the rooms, this renovation was a bit overdue. The first room I got had a connecting door to the next room and I could overhear full conversations between my neighbours, although they didn't speak very loud. When I notified the reception of this, I was assigned another room. In the morning, there was no hot water. Since I had to go tho work, I decided not to wait and just continue. During my check-out, the lady at the reception explained that the boiler broke down during the night and that they got it fixed half an hour earlier. So in short, I think that the hotel infrastructure doesn't really meet the standard at the moment, but they are renovating, so I expect this to be fixed in the (near) future. The staff was friendly and helpful, but they were not helped by the circumstances.
