We returned to this resort having spent 2 weeks here last summer. We had such a wonderful time with our children (6 and 4 years) last year that we wanted to return again. We have not been disappointed. Everything about the resort is superb; 1) the resort is beautiful, the gardens are lush and well looked after, 2) the service is impeccable. Super friendly and efficient staff 3) the rooms are very comfortable and clean 4) huge range of kids activities on offer at the kids club. All the staff are super-friendly and can't do enough for you, particularly for our children. Not only has careful planning and thought gone into catering for families (amazing kids club , free bikes that can be borrowed throughout the day in a range of bike sizes to suit little s ones up to adults, DVDs that can be borrowed daily to watch in your room) but it is the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff that really makes this an outstanding and special resort for families looking for a relaxing and fun holiday. All the swimming pool attendants; the Splash Pool team (Lert, Dee,Noom) made every effort to make sure we were all having a lovely time. The Kids Club staff are also amazing; our children (6 and 4 years) absolutely loved all of the activities organized. There is always a range of activities (arts and crafts, visiting the turtle sanctuary within the resort, games, Thai kick boxing to name but a few, etc etc) on offer throughout the day so the kids can never complain of being bored!! The whole kids club team; Boom boom, Love, Nui, Sunny, Aum and the other staff all make a fantastic team that are expert at entertain kids of all ages; particularly to younger children. You can sign your children into the kids, from age 4 upwards to allow for a bit of grown up 'me time'! The range of food options are good. The international breakfast is excellent and you have a choice of 2 venues. We preferred the Cucina restaurant as it was a bit calmer and less busy than the Marriott international restaurant. There are several restaurants catering for all tastes, even our very fussy children. We ate most nights at either the beach pool bar or in Siam Deli which offer a range of salads, Thai dishes, western foods etc, kubuki (Japanese teppanyaki) and the Adaman Grill were a nice treat, although quite pricey. Although it didn't bother us the beach and sea are not really suitable for swimming in certainly not if you have young children as the sea is very rough particularly during the summer when it is the rainy season. Our children were more than happy to play in the beautiful pools (main pool has a slide and water fountains) and the Blue Pool. There is also an adults only pool which is gorgeous. Overall, we enjoyed another wonderful couple of weeks here and we intend to return again in the future. Who knows maybe next year!! Thank you JW Marriott. We'll be back 😉
One of best property to spend a week, I have been to many. One of attraction Sala Sawadhee lobby bar with live music, friendly and efficient service by Hwan, Bua, Aof, Anny( not sure about spelling), make your evening memorable. Recommend to try.
We are currently staying at the resort which is nestled in the gardens of the JW Marriott hotel. Whilst the apartments are in need of some light renovation work (sofa bed is not comfortable to sit on and showing it's age, kitchen needs a little modernisation (no dishwasher in a Marriott Vacation Club?) the overall condition is good. The gardens are well kept, the pools well maintained and the resort has a very tranquil feel ideal for relaxing. Restaurants on site are expensive but the quality of the Thai food at Ginger, the Italian at Cucina and the steak and seafood at the Grille is a step up from the traditional Marriott Vacation Club fare. It is pretty much a case of you get what you pay for. The staff are unbelievable. We sit around the adult pool most days and the service from the team is impeccable. The pool service team work unbelievably hard to make sure your stay is perfect - wonderful people. Ps try not to come in the wet season - I thought it would be a little wet but not this much rain!!!
We usually visit as a family to the resort and usually on an occasion. This visit is also special as our granddaughter turning four and better appreciates and participates in junior events at the club house. It is safe and well manned with interesting events to suit children . We have been to Hawaii resort but we are convince this is a superior project. Food is good. Service is not pretentious but excellent. Truly a wonderful place for a family get together. On her big day, we Organised a BBQ in our villa and it was a resounding success.the resort has a beach front beside a huge Swimming pool comprising 3 segments including a children playground with water slides and jacuzzi. A week stay is fine but if you could afford the time and money you can actually live there.
I've stayed here twice with the family and I've stayed at a number if resorts in Phuket as well. This is the best resort for seclusion and relaxation. Other reviewers have already mentioned the highlights if the resort. For me the best things about the resort were: 1. Huge apartment with all the amenities including a full kitchen and washer-dryer. 2. Incredible tropical gardens. Its like being in a beautifully landscaped rainforest everywhere you look. 3. Secluded and deserted beach, one of the very few in Phuket where you don't see many people. 4. Many many activities for all age groups. You can do as much or as little as you like. 5. Three outstanding pools. 6. Extremely helpful and friendly staff. The only negative is the high cost of food in the resort. This can be overcome by eating at Turtle Village or one of the beach restaurants. I found three groups of beach restaurants. The first is just behind the South Pool and the Blue Bar. The other is just past the Anantara on the North side and the third is a longer walk along the beach to the South to where the lake is. The resort is far from the more active parts of Phuket such as Patong but this is a plus point in my book. I am returning again this Christmas and that is the best endorsement I can give.
Perfect, perfect, perfect You can NOT fault the place or staff everything is to perfection. Cleanliness superb would 100% go back again next year Great value for price whole experience was amazing. Thank you.
We have been staying here regularly since 2004- first in the hotel and later as owners in the villas. While we would like to see some changes in the dining options- the whole family LOVE it here. One of the reasons this resort is so special is the staff. From the amazing housekeeping women (please leave them a tip if you can) to Lert at the Blue Pool and Aum in the kids club - they cannot be more helpful and more generous. We trust that the management truly appreciate these particular employees who make a stay so special. Thank you. See you next time.
This is our 4th time since 2004 to this resort. We love Thailand and the people are the nicest we have met on our travels around the world. The service here is amazing. We are here for 17 days. Our maids, Sri and Kik are the best ever decorating our bed and bath with towel swans and flowers Twice upon arrival and our Anniversary day. And new animals everyday. We get daily cleaning and supplies, which no other Marriott Vacation Club around the World has given us. Also as much bottled water as you need. The furniture in the rooms are getting old and need updating but the beds are nice and comfy. The kitchen was well stocked, and nice having the washer/dryer right in your room. There is an adult pool, which is nice and quiet ( we like Zen there) and a big main pool with lots of activities for kids but we have been using the Splash pool, which was closest to our room this time. The pool guys are great. Lek has been excellent bringing us ice water and fruit everyday. And Ashray from India studying hotel management was great to talk to. A couple of students from The Netherlands, Rick and Simone were great. Met Kung the last couple of days and he was very attentive. But we did notice at some of the other pools the guys were all looking at their cell phones as we walked by. Since the Splash pool is not large, we feel large blow up floaties should not be allowed, especially by the adults! And not fair some guests are reserving seats for hours, at the prime time and come to the pool for an hour and leave. Unfortunately, the staff don't re-enforce the 45minute rule as stated on the Pool Rules. We enjoyed meals at the Adaman, Marriott cafe buffets , Siam Deli and Kabuki Japanese restaurant, expensive, especially with our low Canadian dollar but good food with excellent service. Not sure why they charge 10% service charge on food and liquor especially on the JW rooms too. Never heard of service charges on rooms before. Plus a 7% Vat charge and 2% tax too, which adds up quickly and is not mentioned on the internet. There is food huts close by family owned, where the food is reasonable and good too. The massages on the Beach are a great deal and a must. The gym is a good size but needs some newer equipment, especially the weight machines. We noticed guests sprawl out on the floor mats in the middle of the gym or right in front of the Dumbbells, which is dangerous and the staff don't say anything. They need a stretching area for people who like to do this. Maybe have stretching in the Yoga room. Also, the staff need to remind guests that there is only 2 benches and you must share not hogging up the bench for their entire workout. Luckily, the gym wasn't busy but I can't imagine what it would be like in December or busier months. The grounds are lush and maybe too lush in some parts, where you may have a view from your balcony but too much foliage. But the gardeners are always busy and making beautiful flower displays in pots everyday. We enjoyed the free use of the bikes for rides around the area. But we really wishes they had BBQ's for guests to use. Overall, this is an excellent resort and I'm sure you will enjoy it here. We will definitely be back. Thanks for some great memories here.
We, family of 5 adults and 2 kids stayed in 2BR apartment style suite in this amazing property. The suite is picture perfect, very clean and great housekeeping staffs who kept our rooms clean for all days of our week long vacation. We loved every minute of stay in this hotel. We happen to utilize less of the resort amenities due to our busy trip to Phuket for other activities. But we loved the pool, beach and kids activities. The only downside is the place is far from most happening Patong Beach and Phuket town and Taxi fare in Phuket is very very very expensive. Otherwise, this property is amazing experience for us!!! Go for it!!
Well the Marriott did not disappoint at all. Our room - Two bedroom suite in the south wing allowing to be close to the "Out of the blue bar" for that quiet afternoon drink. Room was just magnificent. Plenty of room for two adults and two children. House cleaning was exceptional in every respect. The staff were exceptional in every way, form the check in staff to the gardeners. Nothing was an issue even when it came to ordering something different from the room service menu. Food - Room service was very good I must admit. Some dishes like the Pad Thai weren't as good as the pool menu but still good. We did try the some local places that deliver and this will even out the costs of your stay and a bit of variety as well. Siam Deli is very good for brunch or any early breakfast. But if you truly want a beautiful professional dining experience then just pop into the Italian Restaurant "Cucina" just beautiful customer service and the food wasn't bad either. They pride them selves on using local ingredients. Chef Andrea Genio and head waiter Ilya made our evening something to remember. Our kids were even treated to and experience in the kitchen cooking there own pizza to takeaway and my son our dessert under the watchful eye of Chef Andrea. This was the off season during our stay and to their credit the grounds were impeccable at all times. The Beach was also clean and not a bad place be with a Singha beer and a margarita to watch the sunset. Highly recommended are the "Hillybilly Margarita" to takeaway. (See photos) All in all a great stay and we will defiantly be back again. Thank you Marriott.
