Howard Johnson Texarkana

The clerk was on her first day, unsupervised, and was completely lost handling a prepaid stay. The hallway carpet was terrible, and the room smelled moldy. There were no towels and no Kleenex on the dispenser. The TV was a tube set and must have been 20 years old, with a semi-working remote. I woke up at 5am and left immediately without showering jest to get out of there. This is why Howard Johnson has disappeared from the scene.

I just thought the Ramada next door was bad. Same owners? They hadn't paid their TV bill either. Open wall outlets, safety latch broken off door, dried blood? on bathroom door, AC didn't work. Only good thing was price, and I survived.

We wanted something cheap to provide a break from the highway, and this was it. The staff were great, the location was very convenient, and we have no complaints. If you have unrealistic expectations, then you might be disappointed. There was no device to turn that opens doors on the inside of the bathroom door, btw, so if you get that room be sure someone is with you to let you out (for some reason the name of the device that people use to open doors is considered profane by this website). Also, the toilet hadn't been flushed after the last guest used it.

Ok for the money. Needed iron and it was supplied right away.

It was decent it gives you free breakfast close yo all shopping

The hotel was okay but the staff wasn't very great

hotel its ok low price, rooms very well, clean. Location Near to everything.

HOTEL WAS FILTHY, STAFF WAS RUDE, AND THE STAY WAS A NIGHTMARE. WILL NEVER STAY AGAIN.

The hotel had a stench...the smell was not a clean smell. The sheets on the bed were wrinkled. The hotel needs updating. The staff was helpful, nice and polite. We were gone from the room more than we were there & we didn't pay much for the room so we didn't complain.

I have stayed at this place a couple of times in the past. It was never the best, but I always left pleased with my stay. Not this time. As soon as I walked in the room I noticed the heavy smell of tobacco despite it supposed to be a smoke-free room. It, therefore, came as no surprise when the first thing I saw when I walked up to the bed was cigarette burns on the bed cover. I quickly threw that of the bed. That's when I discovered that the room had not been cleaned since there was a dirty bowl by the bed and some cereal thrown about. I was too tired to leave so I decided to take a shower and go to bed. The bathroom was not any cleaner ( low water pressure, peeling walls, grimy shower curtain).

This was a cheaper hotel so I was very pleased with it when we saw how good it was. Had hairdryer, iron, microwave, fridge, nice comfortable bed and pillows. Was clean. It isn't a fancy hotel and does need some updates BUT for the cost it was perfect.

This was the WORST hotel I've ever stayed at. It was beyond filthy. The previously white grout on the bathroom floor was black, the sheets had stains, the curtains had cigarette burns even though they claimed it was a non-smoking room, the comforter had holes in it, the air conditioner nob was broken so you couldn't control the room temperature, the carpet looked like it hadn't been vacuumed in months, and to top it off they gave us dirty towels that were still wet with hair on them!! The manager acted like this wasn't a problem. That's a health hazard. I'm pretty sure nobody would like to use a towel someone else has already put on their body. It's disgusting and wrong. The manager refused to give us new towels because he said they ran out! We asked for a refund and he refused that too. He's despicable and has zero care or concern for his customers health or happiness. I highly suggest this place be shut down it has to be in violation of health codes.

No towels our reservations were not complete by the time we got there TV did not work refrigerator was leaking water all over the place no bedding on the beds were not attentive to our needs I would not recommend this place to anyone traveling to Texarkana to stay..

This motel is perfectly adequate, and a good value for the price. Had I not booked through a booking service, I would have paid even less.

Unclean room. Roach in room. Toilet not clean. Cig butts in the hall. Pool looked like crime scene.

I have always been happy, but this time the room door at 9 pm was not closed and a light was on. I almost didn't go in. Alone and a woman is scary. The staff didn't seem too concerned. The floors were a mess - trashy. They were working on a room across the hall and the smell and noise was before 8 am. I will not be going back again.

I only am there at bedtime. The staff is great and I feel comfortable being by myself.

I arrived late because my planes were cancelled twice due to inclement weather. The desk clerks were so hospitable and helpful . The breakfast was great and the coffee was even greater. THANK YOU FOR THE CARE AND HOSPITALITY TAKEN BY YOUR HOTEL. The time I spent there was outstanding. I will be back. HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO YOU ALL. PEACE.

We booked this hotel for one night but didn't arrive until 5 in the morning. We knew all we booked it for was a nap and a shower after traveling all night. The hotel staff was great to let us have a late check-out. (noon). The beds were a little small but we were so tired we didn't care. Didn't get a chance to get in the pool but it looked very clean. Overall good short stay for the money.

Beds are comfortable....staff was great...i would recommend this location
