Golden Tulip Bielefeld City3.5 out of 5.0

Room was clean, comfortable with a beautiful view of the city and surrounding area. The window was tricky to open, but with the help of a staff person and a chair, we did it. Breakfast was fabulous in every respect, one of my favorites. Everything was terrific... cheese, breads, eggs, honey, jams... The location, close to the Kunsthalle, was perfect for me. It's approximately a 10 euro cab ride to the central train station.
In the heat of Bielefeld, helpful staff and confortable accomodation. Breakfast is excellent with varied selection and quality food. Close to shops, castle and lots of diferent restaurants. Second time we stayed and will be back!
I would like to give 3.5 stars but this is not possible. Positives: Staff at breakfast, front desk and bar were friendly. Breakfast was delicious and had a good variety. The room and linens were clean. The bed was very firm. The location is good for walking through the town and to restaurants, shopping, etc. Negatives: The room was worn, old, and needed some repairs. There was no security chain or mechanism on the door that could be locked from the inside only which is unacceptable. As a single business traveler I was given one pillow, one full size towel and one hand towel. I needed an additional full sized towel (for my hair) and consistently had to request this from the front desk. When I did have housekeeping clean my room, they never left me two full towels despite always removing two!
Nice and central hotel. Very clean and nice interior. Friendly and helpful staff. The breakfast was a bit exspensive, but very good. We got a good deal on the room which was the reason why we chosed to stay there on our way home from holiday. Otherwise it would be to exspensive for our budget
The location is fine, breakfast eather and good cleaness in general. But for business trip nowadays, it's really necessary come improvements in the internet conection at least in the bedrooms. Very weak, terrible conection. Disapointed....
This is an average, somewhat tired, hotel right in the centre of town so well positioned. Rooms are clean and comfortable without air conditioning. Breakfast is comprehensive. Staff are friendly. On the face of it this should be a review with a higher score. But, the place is "dull" even "lifeless" and so has no character. In other words it's a hotel with no soul.
While the building may not have been erected in the past 10 years, all other aspects were spot on. The breakfast especially stood out as being top notch. I think there must have been between thirty and fifty different breakfast elements to chose from: two different kinds of omelet, all kinds of meats and cheeses. Different yoghurts and cereals, fresh fruit and cooked vegetables (you could almost compose a standard English breakfast with what was on offer). The fresh orange juice was in the form of orange halves that you had to pass through a juice extractor.. can't get any fresher than that. I cannot imagine a more generous and tasty breakfast experience. Highly recommended.
Fine lobby, elegant rooms, excellent breakfast assortment. Surprisingly good value. Good central location. Highly recommended! By far the best of our (three three-star) hotels during this trip to Germany.
how lovely to find a personalised welcome to the room card...amd present! ... That was a first for us. Hotel a little dated but everything you want or need is there, including excellent double glazing. We neard no street noise despite being on the corner of the hotel. Even the late night party in a near by disco wasnt hearable. Great breakfast buffett with happy and attentive staff bringing the coffee to you table. Good for shopping, sight seeing etc a shame this hotel is leaving accor in spetember!
This was our second time at the hotel on our way through yo Berlin and this time with our children so I had phoned and requested 2 interconnecting rooms and they where ready for us when we arrived. The hotel is in a good location, very close to bars and restaurants and good value. Be warned, as the hotel doesn't have air con don't get a room at the back as there is a church and the bells made it impossible for us to keep our windows open all night. It felt that the bells were ringing all night and together with not having air con I had a terrible nights sleep! We didn't use the restaurant or bar in the hotel as there were loads of outside places to eat and drink. Not sure I would stay here again in the summer time.
