This is my second time coming here.. and everything is just as good as i can remember. The room is superb, cozy and very romantic with a very big bathroom. I super love the malay, indian, english breakfast! The beach is to die for... clean and soooo beautiful. For someone who loves taking photos like me the beach is like heaven. At night u can watch movies under the stars and we were lucky this time that we get to see baby turtles released to the sea. So cool indeed! Everything about this place is amazing and i would definitely come here again in a few years time.

Booked Tanjung Jara to celebrate my son's 2nd birthday and picked the picnic by the beach option.. it was awesome.. the setup was beautiful and it gave us a different experience. Menu was fine.. they even gave a complimentary cake and I must say the whole service provided was 1st class.

Love the room and amenities provided. Very large bathroom. The food served were amazing. Only the lava cake could have been done better. Beware of mosquitoes! You might be lucky to spot a couple of musangs at night.

I drove down from Kuala Lumpur to the resort on the 18th October 2017. A nice drive and great small towns that one can turn into. Upon reaching the resort , the security at the gate was just awesome. While they counter check with reception regarding our booking , they were also nice to apologize for this as this is their SOP. We drove to the reception to be greeted by smiling faces , welcome drink , the sounds of the gong and cool towels to refresh us. Within 10 minutes we were taken to our room. A nice cool walk. The room was just breathtaking and seriously awesome with much thought put into it. We took the Residence Package and all i can say ............ NO REGRETS! The staff were helpful and friendly at every restaurant we went to. A special mention for Hendley , Chef Ann , Nicole , Hamdan, Chef Sri , who was just ever ready to assist us in anything we needed. The other staff there never said NO to anything we asked. I have nothing but praises for the great staff and the resort. The food is just awesome. A must try is the Nelayan Burger , Butter Milk Prawns , Steam Fish among others. Their freshly made croissants and pastries was just out of this world.I can go and on but experiencing this great hospitality is a must. I am planning my next trip very soon. This place is even better then Club Med which is on the way here. Their service is just extraordinary. Kudos to the staff of this resort. Its worth every Ringgit you pay.

Stayed here on few occasions. But I have to say, the rooms, beautiful as they are, showcasing wooden doors, actual key and labu display, are too dark. Dim lighting may be romantic but a bit too dark for comfort. There are also signs of aging and lack of upkeep (unhealthy soil, moss growing on wood, etc) that should be a concern for the management. Lack of WiFi is also disappointing. Otherwise, the staff are as professional and courteous as ever. Stay is expensive for those earning in Ringgit.

After an absence of 13 years returned to TJR for a quick respite and to celebrate birthday early. Check-In was smooth and professional, everything explained and was given room 1107 which was next door to the room that I had stayed 13 years ago! Room was big and spacious with everything you need. A day bed means even if another adult staying in the room would have enough space. Only a couple of minor grouses in that one of the sink had a crack and low pressure while the spray head of the toilet hose was spoiled. My guess is previous guests chose not to report them or the culprits thus cannot blame TJR. Since we were on the residents package, all meals were provided. Breakfast was buffet and we loved the freshly baked croissants and local nasi padang and a plethora of local and western dishes. Lunch at Nelayan was great. We liked the Nelayan Burger and the Bouillabaisse very much. We spent both nights' dinner at Di Atas Sungai with Chef Ann and Chef Maz and their crew, ordering a la carte. The signature butter milk prawn was very good as were all the dishes such as sizzling venison, seafood claypot, scallops with broccoli etc. For activities the main swimming pool was very beautiful though during our stay the jacuzzi was under maintenance. The ocean was rough as the monsoon was approaching. On the second night we managed to participate in the turtle relasing activity which was great but slightly spoiled due to the huge crowd and guests who do not seem to want to follow instructions. At the main lobby there are a lot of fishes and the reception does provide free fish food to feed the fishes. Do be on the lookout for the large catfish on the left side when facing the restaurant. I believe it was around 3 feet long with whiskers like an alien! Above all though were the services rendered by the staff, some of whom have been serving at TJR for 15 years or more. All of them had a smile on their faces and interact with guests. I was pleasantly surprised when they went the extra step to provide a Happy Birthday Pillow Case, drawing up a Flower Bath, providing a complimentary slice of birthday cake with candle and also packing a lunch to go as we had to leave before lunchtime (of which we were entitled as part of our package). Will certainly look to return soon. Hope to see the car park area having some shelter instead of being open air as cars were 'victims' of avian bombs and tree sap...lol. One thing I would like to advise fellow travelers, take note TJR is essentially located in a jungle so you would expect birds, insects, lizards and even snakes! That is part of the experience!

What else can I say about this resort. This is my second time staying here as my accomodation for my dive excursions to Tenggol Island, off Dungun. And everytime, they have never failed me. From the moment you stepped out from your vehicle to the moment you stepped in, everything about them is organised for the satisfaction of their guests. The rooms, the restaurants, resort’s ground and beach are all impeccable. But what made them so special is the human touch. That feeling extended to guests to make guests feel at home. Special praise should be mentioned to Grace, one of the lady manning the reception desk, and the ‘uncle’ (I failed to get his name though) at the concierge. I would definitely recommend this resort as a stay with that homey feeling but away from home.

Set in lush tropical gardens with a gorgeous sandy beach. 100 wooden style rooms that were very spacious with some thoughtful touches. Massive bathrooms with large deep bath plus separate shower and loo. Towels twice daily if wanted. Please be aware these are traditional design wooden buildings. Therefore if you are upstairs please remember there are people beneath you. If you have children let them run in the gardens on the beach, not back and forth in the room! Good quality toiletries. Mozzie repellents are plugged in each night plus the gardens are sprayed twice weekly. But as this is the tropics there are mosquitoes. So we used repellent always. Also in the room is a woven beach bag. So handy. The food was always good, perhaps a little pricey. We went on a morning trip to the market with chef Ann. She was fun to be with. We prefer the beach so didn't use the pools much but both are beautiful. The smaller adult pool is set in beautiful gardens. The larger family pool was like a bath and spotlessly clean. Both pools and beach were never short of beds and the boys are there with towels and would bring round iced water to help cool us. We had a few days the sea had large waves but other times over the 2wks were very calm. No sign of jelly fish in our October stay. We were so fortunate ate to see the release of turtles on two nights and could have gone to see another two lots had we wanted. This was amazing to see. All the staff were absolutely amazing. Apart from the hotel, food, surroundings being perfect, with their choice of staff to make you feel so special, they make this place heaven. Celebrating out 37th wedding anniversary (late due to illness) we were served cocktails on the rocks as a surprise and chef anne served us lava cake with anniversary wording. It seems unfair that mention names as ALL were so lovely to be around, but little Izah a new girl lit up the place with her smile. They all genuinely seem happy in their work & all they do to make your stay so special. We did the eco river boat cruise with Captain Mok. That was so good. He's so knowledgable and interesting. We also went on the waterfall trek. wow! That was tough! Our guide was excellent & was very thoughtful. If you are not fit(ish) or able to almost climb in parts don't go! We found it very hard. Younger ones found it easier! But the humidity was at least 95% & extrememly hot. But the hour climb was worth it! Spectacular end! The night market was good. We were left alone to look around without being hassled but the people were all so friendly at the market and shops. They don't see many westerners and are happy so say hello and wave. We went twice. Once by local taxi 60rm return. So we had more time. We tried some of the street food. Was yummy,.We visited CB wee a few times. A local Chinese restaurant. Nothing posh! But great food! TIger prawns in garlic! Said in batter. All on plastic plates and tables but always busy with locals. Leave the hotel barrier and turn right. Head to the very end of the road where the lights are and turn left. Walk about 100yards and cross the road to mrs Wee. It's in an old disused garage I read. Would we go back. 100% yes! Can't speak highly enough of this place. We are well travelled and expect high standards after saving so hard for our holidays. This hotel and staff do all they can to make you happy. Thankyou so much for our room upgrade and a wonderful trip. We got a local cab from Terengganu airport 110Rm. But note on the way back it is 160RM unless you book a return at the airport going.

we were there four days and really enjoyed our stay. delicious food from breakfast to dinner, nice ad-hoc activities on site, and out of site. easy to isolate yourself if you desire. very accommodating staff. only attention points I guess were the few beds available next to the pool (many guests behaving selfishly by "booking" those up when they woke up) and the water of the pool not always clear. we will definitely come back!!

I made a booking of the Idyllic Retreat package for our Anjung Seafront room through the hotel website. So the package comes with benefits and complimentary features but the one that attract me the most was the complimentary couple massage. The price on the hotel website is just the same as it is on the third party sites (booking.com/agoda) and the rooms do not come with any benefits. Check their website for the other special offers cos they have plenty to choose from. And now come to think about it I should have booked the package that inclusive lunch and as well dinner because it would have been more cost efficient. Mind that their F&B outlets are a bit on the pricey side (a plate of pasta cost like RM 70-90) and also they do not have much varieties to choose from even though we went to all 3 different outlets. That's where I think they need to improve on, to add up more selections on their menus. For the 3d2n stay we did not have lunch both days cos we do not know what to really have from the menu. :( I'm not saying their food is bad, taste wise the food were great but they were just lack on selection. But apart from that, we really enjoyed our stay. Staff are very attentive to guests. From the Front Office, the Housekeeping, the F&B, the Spa and also not to forget the staff stationed by the Beach. Applause to the most amazing customer service provided! The resort is clean, the beach is clean with crystal clear water, definitely a paradise. Tranquil, serene and calm. I definitely would recommend Tanjong Jara Resort to anyone. One of the best Resort I have visited so far. :)
