Just returned home this evening from a fantastic stay at Sol Sun Beach. I cannot praise the staff and hotel enough. Nothing was too much trouble. We had a side sea view which was amazing, the studio was clean and a special mention for the cleaning staff who made sure even our sleepwear was folded and placed neatly on our freshly made beds. We landed home this evening and im already looking to book again for August. Really just want to say thank you to all the staff you really are special and hopefully see you again very soon .
Just returned home last night after having a great week here, however I do have some good advice from experience should a room with a view be of the utmost importance to you. The photo`s you browse that possibly sold this holiday to you may put a bit of a rose tinted look of what your stay could possibly be with the idyllic look of sea or pool views from your room but this is not always the case. We chose being a family of 3 with one teenage son to upgrade from a studio to a one bedroomed apartment self catering through travel republic. Viewing the complex on google street view I noticed that there was one row block that would appear to face overlooking the road but I`m sure many of these still have great views however in a bid to make this holiday as perfect as I could I emailed the hotel expressing a preference of where I would ideally like to be situated, however the hotel (Sebas, Great guy ) emailed me back saying the preferences of location I spoke of overlooking the pool or see would be of a further additional cost of an extra 30 euro a night, so we decided to leave it to pot luck, as this was the same rate I would of paid if I chose to stay at the Pueblo Torviscas again On arrival we got a nice greeting from the girls on reception, however the lovely lady explained that our room wasn't quite ready for us, however they allowed us to store our cases whilst we went up to the pool side bar, this did make the wife slightly irritable as she wanted to change out of the clothes she had travelled in but it was a small inconvenience but we enjoyed the surroundings whilst waiting about 90 mins. We were finally given the key and followed the directions to our room, admiring the pleasant complex, It was when we got out the lift & walking down the slope to our room that I had realized that we had been allocated one of the un affectionately named dungeons that I had read about ( A1-27). On entry the room was actually pleasantly surprising the room was very clean, looked recently decorated ,clean walls with a re modelled bathroom finished to excellent taste consisting of a nice shower , modern basin and immaculate toilet with some nice little touches, the shower gel I couldn't take on the plane! didn't matter, Shower gel in the shower along with other items creams ect, result, furnishings were in an acceptable condition. I could not fault this room. Then I opened the curtains, Sadly the illusion of my holiday views came to a shattering halt as you realise that you are at a basement level with a raised flower bed looking slightly up to the neighbouring busy road possibly 10 foot in front of you. It is however its a great suntrap however at this time of year the fans are enough, any previous complaints I read about air con was not justified on this occasion. We did enquire about exchanging rooms to which there was availability for the following day for the additional cost of an extra 16 euros a night however this would of put the cost of our holiday up way past what I would of expected to pay at the Pueblo Torviscas where I have stayed on 4 other occasions which I feel is as equally as nice(With a view) so I couldn't justify paying the extra, so we made the most of what we had as it appeared that the price I paid only appeared to allow us to stay in A Block which has now become clear as the bargain basement which wasn't so clear when I booked but hey we didn't let this spoil our stay,as the complex on a whole is amazing. however this is just a pointer about the view from the A block apartments,As mentioned earlier the sun terrace is an amazing sun terrace which faces the anti climb security fencing but beyond the fence our view was mainly delivery vehicles blocking any view and the busy flow of people walking past on the pavement who had the natural human reaction of wanting to look in on you making you feel very exposed. In the mornings the green Sprite lorry parks up & the driver can be quite noisey off loading his crates and kegs so this may disturb any people who like to sleep in.If the complex is happy to receive some constructive criticism I feel as there isn't a view to be had from A Block it would probably pay to actually screen the facing security fence to give the visitors a more secluded feel to their terrace ,Its human nature for people to want to look in but when its you that is behind the bars you kinda feel that your an attraction at the zoo . Apart from that we had a great time, great complex, great apartment when curtains drawn.Sun Sol Seclude That Fence!!.. Regards Darren Travelers consider Pueblo Torviscas same price with a view
For a 3 star it is probably the best I've stayed in and will be visiting again I'm sure. Breakfast was good ...Evening meal also good, ample variety .. .Room (Studio) was great ... clean comfortable and spacious ... bathroom spotless ... Pool and lounging area was great (not packed in like sardines) :o) Slight incline to beach and promanade but hey !!! ... We would certainly reccomend this hotel.
Close to the beach and a fantastic breakfast buffé. Nice staying for adults. Only bad was that when you as we were staying at the C-block, there were a lots of steps (no elevator) but it was instead near to the restaurant.
Just spent 10 days in an apartment which was clean, comfortable and well equipped. The pool area is well maintained and there are plenty of sun loungers. The central but quiet location made our stay very enjoyable as did the cheerful and friendly staff.
My daughter & myself spent two weeks in the Sol Sun Beach to celebrate my 70th birthday. It was quite a bittersweet occasion as I lost my husband & my daughter her Dad three months ago & we wanted to get away for some R & R. We requested a high floor room with a sea view & that is just what we got. The room was all we wanted it to be. There was a balcony overlooking the sea & also a massive terrace overlooking the side street so we could watch the world go by if we wanted to. Our room was cleaned daily, mainly by Dolores who works so hard. The whole of the hotel is spotlessly clean & there are lots of comfy public areas. The sun terrace on the roof is massive with plenty of sunbeds & amazing 360 degree views of the resort. The reception staff were really helpful when we couldn't quite get the hang of the wifi, admitted it isn't fantastic but adequate. We didn't use the restaurant so can't review the meals but when we did walk past there were always plenty of people using it so it is probably as good as the rest of the hotel. I would like to thank the staff member who organised a surprise when coming back for a day out on my birthday. On the table were two bottles of water & three tubs of different sweets, (How did they know I have a very sweet tooth) with a card from the staff wishing me a Happy Birthday, I thought that was a lovely gesture. I would certainly come back to this first class hotel, it has everything you would desire for a lovely holiday, close to all the amenities.
This hotel is awful! We booked a Sea View Room and had no view at all! We took our pet because it claims to be a "Pet Friendly" hotel but when we arrived we had to sign a waiver that said we had to keep our dog caged at all times and he was not allowed to be left unattended in our room. There were ants/bugs in the kitchen, bathroom and hallway. The bathroom mirror was rusted and the entire hotel room was old and yucky looking. The pictures you see while booking are NOT what you will see when you arrive, unless you get super lucky and receive that one room they used for the pictures! The food is terrible and I mean terrible! The restaurants nearby are very good and eating out is cheap on this island... I would encourage anybody to eat out and don't waste your money on this food this hotel serves... GROSS! We had a lot of issues and it's a pity the staff treated us so poorly about it... I just hope this reviews helps save some others from the heartache we experienced on our vacation! Just like many of you... we work hard all year long to take a nice relaxing holiday somewhere tropical to enjoy the atmosphere... but in our case, that dream was smashed by this hotel! PS... They are renovating some rooms and the construction and noise from the machinery is ridiculous! Good luck... Tenerife is amazing, just make sure you pick the right hotel to match your needs, wants and desires!
Lovely hotel the pool area and reception very clean in fact every area is kept very well, the grounds very neat and tidy. The pool area has plenty of sun beds really nice pool although a bit cold. Would definitely recommend this hotel for either couples and families.
First of all, the sun deck is awesome. Our room was clean but a bit noisy. We could hear what people were saying walking past. All hotels tend to be like that. Apartment (bedroom, livinroom/kitchen and terrace) spacious and a lot of storage. Shower acted funny few days, kept changing hot and cold and had its oen will. Limited view to the sea from the balcony. Kitchen equipped with fridge, basic glasses, coffee cups, plates and cutlery. Stowe, Owen , coffee maker, toaster and water cooker. Hotel provided a clean cloth and soap for dishes. Breakfast was full, good and they even served sparkling wine in the mornings. pool was clean and big but the pool bar expensive and the sangria is best to Avoid there. Plenty of sunbeds and a Bali bed for rent. Books to read in the lobby for guests and few vending machines. Location half a block from the beach, by the road with a lot of restaurants. Also a supermarket half a block sway. No parking place so had to obey markings for street parking. And did I mention the sun deck was awesome!
We stayed in an a one bedroom pool view apartment for a week. The accommodation was clean and fairly basic but the pool area was lovely and very well kept by a hardworking lady gardener. There were lots of sun beds and a large sun terrace overlooking the beach. I would be concerned in hot weather that the bedroom area would be very stuffy as there was no a/c. My other worry was security. We had no problems and, as I was with my husband I felt reasonably safe - however I sometimes holiday with a friend and if it had been only us I think we may have felt less sure. The access to our apartment was off the street with no locked gate. Some areas of the grounds were secured by locked gates or accessed through reception but a large section was open to all. I only mention this as my friend can be quite anxious and I don't think she would have been able to relax and certainly would have been nervous coming back at night. We did not take any meals so I can’t comment on the food, we considered having breakfast but the dining room was no competition for our lovely sunny terrace overlooking the pool. There was some entertainment but it didn't appeal to us so again no comment. The huge positive of these apartments are their location - very close to the front with good walks in both directions. There is a supermarket and a taxi rank across the street and many bars and restaurants close by. We enjoyed Martini (which had live music) but the best meal of the holiday was in Cordon Rojo -great steaks served on sizzling platters with delicious rosemary potatoes, well above average holiday fare at very reasonable prices. I would definitely stay at Sol Sun Beach again.
