Location is very nice, near the beach, but traffic noise does disturb the comfort a lot. Furthermore the main minus is the lack of fridge in the rooms and very bad quality TV (very old, had to set it to black and white mode since skin colour turned out green and green colours turned red). Balcony door was very loose and the noise from the street got very easily in through it and one glass windows. Since there is only one extra electrical outlet, getting a fridge to the rooms probably needs a big renovation. Safe deposit box was 21 EUR / week and old style with key (not digital). Safe didn't belong to my travel agency's package. I got a room with view towards Teide and Casino Taoro. My room was on the first floor, door in a kind of inner ward, not in the hotel corridor and probably less noisy regarding the noise of people coming and going to their rooms. Stepping out of the room you were actually outdoors (but not at street level) and could see the ocean. You get two key cards per room. Defects in the room were fixed quickly (TV remote control and light bulb in the bath room). Room and bathroom were very clean, shower curtain seemed new and bed was comfortable. Bathroom had also a sliding glass window so you could have fresh air and the lighting was really good. Towels were changed daily. Two drinking glasses in the room would be handy. Breakfast buffet was versatile with fresh fruits, wholemeal bread, good coffee and cold cuts etc. There was even lactose free milk among other things. I didn't like the taste of bacon and egg-products but there was other things to start your day on a good base. Swimming pool area was nice, there were always free sunbeds and it was peaceful without background music. I got a pool towel to my use free of charge. With only one exception I didn't use the bar services and never had dinner at the hotel so cannot comment them. Reception personnel was kind, some of them even nicer than others. Hotel seems to have changed the name again, Epiphany time it was TRYP but now the name is SOL, hope this means great improvements to the hotel. I could come again despite some of the shortcomings but I really hope you can improve the soundproofing by compacting the balcony doors and windows.

The hotel is a bit wore down and need to be refurbished, but the location is outstanding. Breakfast is OK, the breakfast room a bit too noisy. Poo larea nice and clean with a life guard all the time. Nearness to beach, city center (Old town), bus station made life easy. Understanding of English varied among the staff members but we always found someone to assit.

We were booked in for three nights. Tryp are a good brand that we have used and enjoyed. This one isn’t. It is dated (80s) and very very tired. It is not very close to the City Centre. The web images do not show CRT TVs which are common in there. It wasn’t cheap either - over €100 per night half Board - the going rate for good hotels in this area (eg The Seminaris, excellent but a bit of a walk in). The staff were fine and tried to find a better room but the two we looked at were very similar - and in the end agreed to cancel my booking - not easily mind! - I travel all the time. I would rate this as 1/2 star. Budget and adequate if that is what you are ok with. I’m not saying don’t use it, but I do suggest you book in knowledge of what to expect. The pix might assist. The view btw was amazing once you got over the empty and dilapidated swimming stadium opposite.

Close to beach, wiew either to beach or mountains/city. Breakfast for every taste. Clean but not so modern rooms. Easy walk to restaurants and supermarkets. Noise from outside and inside - use earplugs!

I spent two weeks in this hotel, and I have to say that I have been very much satisfied by the room and all services. The personnel is very kind and professional. I surely would return. Prices are also very convenient.

Good condition for a 3/4 star hotel. Rooms (standard sea view) are spacious and quite cosy. Actually recently repaired. Try to have a room in 6th or 7th floor in the corner of the hotel; so you will be able to see not only the the ocean but also Puerto de la Cruz. Excellent view! Only 100 m from the ocean and Playa Jardin. There is only a football stadium between the hotel and the ocean.

Hotel is situated in a very good location for the town centre, bars and restaurants. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and the rooms, although very basic were clean and comfortable with a well equipped bathroom. The only criticism [and is quite a major one for me] as regards the room is the lack of tea and coffee making equipment. The swimming pool is great with a good number of sun loungers and the beach within close and accessible walking distance. However the area is not quiet; the hotel is situated on a very busy road, and most unfortunate of all is that there is a football stadium directly behind the hotel, which is in use every night till late. Whilst there, there was a game taking place with extremely loud music booming from the stadium. Breakfast was adequate but not very exciting; as the week went on, different items appear to be left off the choices available. With the absence of the football stadium and the provision of tea and coffee making facilities, my rating of this particular hotel would have being considerably higher.

Enjoyed everything about our short break at this hotel. The location being within easy walking distance of the centre Puerto de la Cruz and near the Loro Parc. The restaurant quality and variety was good.

What can I say, We came here not expecting much due to previous reviews but was very pleasantly surprised! Lovely and helpful receptionists to a nice big and clean room and to our delight we had a sea view! Rooms are in a good condition and always cleaned. The breakfast was continental and had a good selection for all: vegan to gluten intolerant. (We only had B&B as we like to explore local foods). The pool side is great and we had the best beach in Puerto at our door step. Will hope to visit again :) thank you!’

hotel in great location . It was very clean, the staff were very friendly and helpful and breakfast was fine with plenty of choice . Pool area was lovely but the hotel rooms need an update as well as a new carpet up the stairs .
