We stayed here from July 24th to 31st. I have to agree with previous review that the pictures shown online are actually of the sister hotel the RF Astoria next door ! However, it isn't really bad either. We enjoyed our stay and probably would stay again because we loved the location. We did have a couple of issues on arrival. The room we booked was not the double we booked but a twin, the fridge was leaking and the balcony door wouldn't lock properly so we went back to reception and asked to be moved. Which was not a problem we were given another room straight away which was fine and even had a bit of a sea view. It was clean, spacious enough for two people and facing on to a quiet street. Room was cleaned daily and towels changed. Each staff member we met was nice and friendly. The receptionists especially were very friendly and helpful. The pool and solarium areas are lovely and seemed quiet at all times so nice and relaxing. The location was ideal for us, the hotel is literally a few minutes walk from the beach, restaurants, supermarkets, the Lagos Martianez but still quiet enough at night. There is no air conditioning so it can get hot and stuffy but we weren't really there much of the day. I can't comment on the food, we were self catering and shopped in the nearby Hiperdino supermarket or ate out altogether. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would probably come back. I'd give it 3.5 stars if it was an option.
Matress was bad, I asked to be removed. Balcony door didn't lock, so we rented a deposit box for our valuables. Tv set very old and with modest performances but we didn' t go there for watching tv. Room needs refurbishment
A hotel is in two Parts ! The 'Bambi' is joined to its sister hotel the 'Astoria' who's rooms are delightful in comparison to the 'Bambi'. The 'Bambi' rooms are tired and depressing and the bathroom is unbearably compact. Towels were only changed every couple of days. However, it was bearable for the price paid. The Hotel shares all its facilities with its more expensive and classier Hotel Astoria. Breakfast is reasonably ok. Help yourself to coffee, tea, fruit juice, cereal, bread, cheeses, ham, fresh fruit, and numerous pastries. Sometimes there were scrambled eggs which were delicious. The pool gets the sun (when not obscured by cloud) for most of the day and there are two roof top sun terraces with amazing views across the town, mountain and the sea. WiFi is payable but works well. There is no bar but the hotel is one minute walk from bars and restaurants. It's actually very central and well positioned. Tip: Pay the small extra charge and book into the 'Astoria'. (Website: the modern looking rooms are the 'Astoria' rooms!
We were here in January 2017. The apartment, or rather studio I should say, was not very big. It hat a small kitchen area with a sink, a small fridge and two hotplates. This was enough for us, as we only ate breakfast at the room anyways. However, the room had these small bugs crawling on the walls in the bathroom that was kinda gross. The location was pretty nice, close by everything. I would reccomend this to couples that's looking for a quiet hotel where they are just going to sleep and not spend much time on other than that :)
The best thing about this hotel is the location, we were never more than a 5 minute walk from the beach, shops and restaurants. There is a supermarket a few minutes walk away which we used several times as we were self catering. There was a fridge, hob and basic cutlery at the apartment which was adequate. There was no kettle (we boiled water in a saucepan) and you had to buy your own washing up liquid/dish cloth etc. The room was small but fine for the 2 of us and whilst not luxury it was clean and functional. On arrival we had an issue with not getting the double room we booked but we were moved to this straight away after speaking to the receptionist. The reception staff were also helpful in arranging a trip to mount Teide and our transfer back to the airport. We also made use of the hotel pool and roof sun terrace which we had all to ourselves most days. From the roof you had great views of Mount Teide. Although the hotel my be a little tired in places overall we were happy with out stay.
Let me start by saying the front desk staff are amazing.Very helpful, welcoming and always greeted you with a smile. The girls really made our stay in Puerto de la Cruz memorable, so thank you again for being such wonderful people. When we entered the room, like so many others who have commented, the rooms are tiny. We stayed for 5 days at New Years, 2017 and paid way more than this room was worth. I wouldn't have minded so much, but the room was not clean or well kept. Lots of dirt, hair and marks on the walls. We were not into complaining to the staff so we tipped the cleaning people everyday hoping things would get better, but they didn't. Didn't feel a tip the last day was deserved so we didn't bother and that bothered me. The room should be spotless and not just a surface cleaning. I can live with a tiny room and a small kitchen nook but it MUST, above all else, be CLEAN! Overall the location was amazing and the breakfast buffet was awesome and a bargain for 6 euros. We would stay again if the rooms were cleaner and well kept, a coat of fresh paint would help. A tip if you are thinking of travelling to the top of Tenerife by cable car. Book this through your hotel and not on line. The hotel will offer a full refund if the cable car is out of service because of bad weather. If you book on line there are no refunds. Read the terms and conditions for on line sales. We received a full refund from the Bambi, thank you again! We will try for the top next trip. Also, Puerto de la Cruz is so much nicer than we ever expected. We will definitely have a longer stay next time.
So many good stays in Tenerife but this wasn't one of them. Room was tiny, two dining chairs stuck under table no room to take them out. Fridge did not refrigerate. Fridge did, however function as a heater, which was kind of horrible considering it was September. No aircon. Noisy outside, right on road. Screaming all night, not from holidaymakers, but locals resident nearby and staff from the adjacent amusement arcade."Kitchen" is two pan, two ring stovetop and a sink, two knives forks spoons and plates. One linen change in five days, the day before we checked out. No sleep in 5 nights. Pay the extra tenner and stay somewhere nice, this was no holiday. Only saving grace, the couple of staff we met, were lovely.
I stayed at the R F Bambi for 8 nights in October and overall I was very satisfied with the Hotel it has basic rooms with a small 2 ring hob to cook on, a fridge and enough crockery and utensils to cook a small meal if needed we only wanted to be able to have breakfast, the bathroom on the small side as is the shower, room cleaned every day and the staff were very friendly and helpful, Would have given it 5 stars but the only Wi-Fi available was in the lounge and they wanted 15 euros for this and it was not available in the room, we said know and got free Wi-Fi in the town.
The reception was 5 stars she was friendly helpful and deserves a mention. The room was good but the water stopped working so we were immediately upgraded by bambi. Very central location with pubs and shops near by aswell as places to eat. The rooms were very clean and the sheets were changed regularly. The only negative thing was no air-conditioning or fans but we left the doors open. Fantastic views of the mountains and stars. Id stay here again. If your looking for cocktails go to the beetle rock bar 5 mins walk order a blue lagoon
When we checked in the first thing we noticed was that the room was very small, and then the leaky fridge. I went back to reception and I was given towels to put on the floor. It took a second call to reception the following day to get this fixed. Other than that the room was clean, our balcony faced on to a wall so we had privacy. The beds were very hard (we had to go get massages for our backs) the shower curtain was rubbish and so the whole floor was soaked but we just threw a large towel on it after drying ourselves off. The swimming pool had no sun after about 3 but there was a roof top sun terrace. The staff were lovely and it was very close to everything. Parking is steep at €8 per day considering there was a lot of spaces on the road outside - I wouldn't pay them €80 to park there again (we were there for ten days)
