It's been a long 18 months for us since we had to cancel our last planned holiday to Tenerife and I was SO looking forward to this one, three weeks - couldn’t wait. Two big problems for me, firstly location which I accept is 100% my fault. This hotel is perfectly located if your primary purpose is to soak up the sun by the pool, or if you are a hiker and/or if you want to hire a car. However if you are older or just prefer to take an afternoon stroll then there really is nowhere to go, apart from one bar/restaurant that's two doors up past the car rental and supermarket. There is, of course, the shuttle bus that goes into Puerto de la cruz on the hour in the morning from 10.00 till 1.00 and returns at the half hour, starting again at 4.00 until 8.00. The accommodation itself,, junior suite on the front of the hotel, was a really great size, and caught the morning sun into the afternoon. However the maintanence of the room was dreadful, broken and lifted tiles on the balcony and in the bathroom, a small child had been let loose with a sealant gun around the bathroom, shower doors, bath seals, there was3vidence of leaks in the ceiling, generally it was very tired. The carpets in the upstairs hallways wa# badly stained outside our room with what looked like yogurt. Having said that, the staff were delightful. Particularly the reception and cleaning staff who kept our room spotless. Linen was changed at least twice a week with towels daily is requested. Nothing was too much trouble. This leads me onto the second problem. We booked initially for bed and breakfast and ate dinner the first night in the local bar/restaurant. The meal, which was a simple salad and shared plate of mixed meat with a glass of wine each came to almost 70 euros, which was something of a shock. However The next morning we were offered an upgrade to include dinner in our hotel package at 11.00pppn. Based on the lack of local facilities, the return shuttle bus stopping at 8.30 in the evening, and a taxi costing around 15.00 from the town back to the hotel, we thought that would be the best option. I can only say that the food in the evening is awful, repetitive, not often hot and poorly cooked. I have heard others in the hotel paying 22.00pppn for the same meal and that is beyond imagination. Who eats sprouts and cooked carrots for breakfast ? Apart from that, I would class the hotel as a three star, the main downstairs areas look the business and there is a lovely fountain area as you go down the stairs to the dining room. Note: the outside of the pool facing room are all having a facelift so maybe there is a refurb underway and this hotel is also a timeshare property so has private owners.
We stayed here from 16th to 23rd September 2017. we were staying in a private rental and not in the main part of the hotel, so I can't comment on the hotel rooms as we did not stay in one. Pros: - the bar/lounge area is very clean and tidy and well presented, the staircase down to the spa and dining hall looks like 5 star with fountains, etc - very nice. - the toilets were all absolutely immaculate and smelled nice, which is not always the case with some hotels. - the staff were very polite and helpful, I was surprised to see some negative comments on here about those - the spa is terrific and the thermal pool/Jacuzzi was extremely cheap at 7 euros for 2 people for 2 hours. During our stay we had two treatments each; a 30 minute back massage, my wife had a hand treatment/manicure and I had a facial massage. All of the staff in the spa were fantastic, polite, helpful and put you at your ease. No complaints there whatsoever. - The grounds in general are well cared for with many beautiful trees and plants in flower and extremely clean. Cons: - the entertainment was awful. Perhaps it's a quiet time of year as the children are back at school and the hotel did not seem particularly busy, but while we were there we saw a karaoke (at which one group sang), there was supposed to be a singer but he never showed up. There was a DJ evening which was virtually empty, a fashion show which was a bit weird (one woman changing into a lot of different outfits), the best was the bird show with eagles and owls which were trained to fly across the room, and the flamenco dancers on our last night, who were brilliant but it was a very short show at 30 minutes. - the buffet restaurant, oh my god. I feel sorry for anyone who eats there every day. As we were not all inclusive we paid 21 euros each to eat there as we have been to similar all inclusive buffets in the south of the island and they were very good. This was terrible. Hardly any choice, the chicken was all water, the choice of desserts was very meagre. Drinks were not included, either. It was NOT worth 21 euros. All in all, for what we paid for the apartment and flights it was OK and I don't feel cheated - the spa was lovely to have. But I don't think I would return when I know there are better hotels elsewhere.
Lovely quiet hotel, very helpful staff on reception, our garden room was lovely and peaceful. The pool area is nice and clean. Maid service is great. But, if you want lively with great entertainment don't come here. We are in a self catering basis, and very glad. We tried the restaurant, all I can say about it is that we won't try it again. However, the hotel has a bus service into town, and there are some fab restaurants and cocktail bars, so if you want a quiet base, relaxing around the pool during the day, and want to get out at night, it's great
We have a Timeshare elsewhere, but decided to exchange for La Quinta Park because we have stayed in the self-catering units before and found them to be ideal. We found everyone, without exception, to be friendly. The unit we stayed in was reasonably comfortable with plenty of space and huge beds. The state of decoration was good, with complimentary toiletries, adequate cooking utensils and facilities, even washing-up liquid! The over-bath shower was powerful and very hot, but the bottom of the bath could become a little slippery. The pool area was clean and fairly well maintained, it had magnificent views over Puerto de la Cruz, particularly at night. We did not stay in the main hotel, but in one of the terraced units. It had a large balcony with a lovely view (when not cloudy) on Mount Teide. We hired a car at Tenerife South airport, and found no problems parking near the hotel every night. We used the large lower-floor dining room once for our evening meal, eat as much as you like for a fixed price. We found we couldn't eat too much after sampling all the food in Puerto de la Cruz during the day, particularly the cakes. The patisseries are numerous and filled with tantalising treats which we couldn't refuse! We used the main bar area several times for our evening meals, again delicious, filling and very reasonably priced, although the choices were slightly limited. There was some form of entertainment every night we stayed there, singing, magician, fashion show, bird of prey demonstration, etc. The management really try hard to entertain their guests, especially the littlies. We toured around the Island most days, so didn't get to use the fitness equipment or spa facilities. The free hotel courtesy bus delivered us to the Centro Comercial Pirámides de Martianez with it's patisserie and supermarket. It was then just a short 10 minute walk to the town centre. We can't really find any faults with our stay, and will certainly recommend the hotel to anyone wanting a quieter holiday. We will return. We love the tranquility of the hotel setting with virtually no traffic noise, even though the TF5 motorway runs half a mile away.
We stayed at la quinta for 10 nights with our two boys aged 9 and 14. The accommodation was lovely, very clean and very spacious. The pool area was very nice, large with plenty of sun beds. We stayed all inclusive and the food was good, wouldn't say a great deal of choice, especially for children, but we seemed to find something most times. The restaurant staff were very friendly, especially the manager who sat you at your table. The pool side snack bar was good serving burgers, hotdogs and chips, however I found some of the staff serving quite unfriendly and rude and it seemed to be an inconvenience when you ordered snacks, even if they weren't doing anything! I found the same when we were ordering drinks from the same area on an evening. We received waiter service for the first five days of our holiday on an evening in the bar area, however after this we were asked to queue at the snack bar as we were alinclusive and basically treat like second class citizens by rude bar staff. The hotel is very remote, however we did know this prior to booking, the free bus service was excellent and we used it quite a few times. The weather wasn't great and we did expect more sunnier warmer days, however as the hotel is high up near the mountains there was a constant blanket of haze and fog which made the weather very cool, therefore for this reason we wouldn't holiday in the north of tenerife. All in all we did have a good holiday, but would not return to north tenerife or sadly this hotel. Stevenshell
Really nice hotel, definitely choose panoramic/ sea view room they have beautiful views, worth the extra €25 a day for panoramic and €10 for sea ( we upgraded when we got there after seeing the non sea view rooms as they were a bit dated and sofa beds uncomfortable) Rooms are really nice and clean, Maids are lovely as are we staff. There was plenty of choice with the food, breakfast and dinner and it was all very nice. The pool was big and there was no shortage of sun loungers. The addition of mini golf was a fun activity in the afternoon. The shuttle bus service to puerto de la Cruz was good although we did hire a car. Being half board we liked the fact there was a kitchen in the room so we could make lunch, we got our food from the Lidl nearby. All in all lovely hotel and would stay here again.
This is definitely not a four star hotel, I wouldn't even go as far to call it a three star hotel. Rooms need renovations and have years of stains on the walls and curtains. Rooms are far from clean as in the first room I received had bed bugs and hair all over the floors, I've never been more disgusted by a hotel room. The manager does not exist nor does anyone at the hotel really care for hospitality and customer service. Rude staff at the reception. Pizzas are frozen at their cafe, and breakfast will include bugs and scrambled eggs soaked in a pool of green oil. Self Catering kitchens do not include half of the kitchen necessities and also do not include soap and it's clear that past guests were not bothered to buy soap either. It's definitely worth it to spend a little bit more for a much better hotel than waste your money here.
Just came back for a week long trip from tenerife. Stayed in this hotel and have mixed feelings. Generally this is a good value for money hotel. You cant get anything better at this price. The following things i liked about the hotel. 1) The staff wether at reception, bar, restautrant were all very polite 2)The variety of food and drink was good 3) The pool and the view from hotel is amazing 4) Daily and hourly shuttle to the nearest city center 5) The rooms were spacius, bathroom was great and pretty clean 6) The stairs and ambience on your way to restaurant is pretty much like 5* and very relaxing. 7) A huge hotel with plenty of rooms with sea view. 8) Most of the staff could speak multiple language including german, english and local language 9) The entertainment lead Nadja was great and always motivated us and others to participate in the evening programs. The following things i did not liked about the hotel. 1) It definitely needs a renovation. The doors in the room i had to slam realy hard to close. You dont expect this in a 4 * hotel. 2) The walls had cracks and gave a feeling that it is like this since a while. 3) You have to pay a deposit for towels near the pool 4) The spa was not included in all inclusive deal even if the booking agent promises one. 5) the location was bit far from city or nearest beach Overall i found the hotel reasonable well despite of so many negatives review about it.
Be aware if you are going self catering a 'Fully equipped kitchen' DOES NOT include; A kettle An oven A toaster A cork screw A tin opener So you will struggling cooking a meal, staff were helpful and offered a room a kettle, but when we asked they said they had no kettles left. Gutted!!! The good thing was, no early morning sun lounger reserving - we we always managed to get a bed by the pool, even at 10am
Hotel - Just lacking full 4 Star features. A 4 Star hotel would not charge extra for parking, gym, indoor pool and use of sauna. Also daily fresh poolside towels come at an extra cost. Very clean throughout. Cleaners could be seen regularly working hard, including the cleaning of the outdoor pool and toilets. Location - Isolated. Not for teenagers and young adults wanting lots of bars and a busy night life. No beach. Hire Car is highly recommended. Rooms - The Sea View room we were originally allocated was dreadful. The room was tired, the bathroom terrible and the bed wobbly. The 'Sea View' was not a traditional sea view. You could just about see the sea, but the primary view was the tiled roofs of the accommodation in front of the balcony. We actually complained to the reception staff and duty manager about the poor room and the view. They did move us to a sea view room in the main hotel, which from the photos is what we thought we had booked. The hotel likes to use the term 'Panoramic View' for the rooms with a traditional 'Sea View'. I suppose 'Superior Sea View' would be better. However, the reception staff made us pay an upgrade rate to get a nice room with a sea view. I got the duty manager involved the next day, but she did not seem to understand the issue and even though she emailed the Hotel General manager, we did not get the upgrade money back. Very disappointed with the lack of customer service from the hotel reception staff and management. They must know the Sea View Suites are in urgent need of an upgrade and some sea views are poor! Restaurant - Outstanding in all respects. The waiters, serving staff and chefs worked very hard. The food in the restaurant was always fresh and replaced regularly. Something for everyone. Poolside Snacks and Drinks - On the whole, fine. The All Inclusive drinks were what you would expect, but they had an obsession of serving cocktail drinks in pint glasses which from a presentational perspective, looks poor. The snack food served between 1500-1700 was hit and miss as it was often cold and unappetising. Recommendations - Only choose this hotel if you like a quiet location. Get a hire car. Go All Inclusive as it is well worth it and speeds-up the time to get served at the bar. Oh and most importantly, if you want a modern room with a sea view, choose the 'Panoramic View' room option. We had a great holiday, but we would have hated it if we had not moved rooms.
